A very good experience. The scheduling was easy, the technician called and gave me a time he would be here, and he showed up on time. He was very professional and respected myself as well as my home but also had a very friendly easy-going manner. It was nice that he spoke highly of the company he worked for. He had been in the business for years so I felt like I was in good hands. Definitely will use again and recommend to my friends

Everything was great - the quote was very reasonable, the salesperson was very responsive & answered all my questions and explained everything clearly. The installers were professional, personable, and hard-working. The installation took much longer than expected but they finished the job with great attitudes. There was some water leakage after the installation, but Black Lion came out right away the next day and fixed the problem.

Within a couple of days of calling, Tyrel Owens came out to inspect the current setup. He gave a call that morning that he could come by early, which I accepted. He was pleasant and professional to deal with and gave precise and understandable explanations and what exactly I needed. He prepared a quote that that was clear and concise. He made it that all rebates were completed and filed without me having to do anything. Two days later it was Jesse and Darrius who came to actually install the furnace along with the new thermostat. Both Jesse and Darrius were courteous, pleasant, and professional. They found errors in the duct work that wasted efficiency and solved problems quickly. They did a great job installing the furnace. They left the path through the house and work area uncluttered and clean.

Black Lion Heating & A/C technician Jeff Portteus performed the work efficiently and called to our attention a worn ignitor which he replaced. Thanks to Mr. Portteus' inspection we saved several hundred dollars since the ignitor was still under warranty. We recommend Black Lion Heating & A/C as well as Mr. Portteus without reservation and have already reserved their services for 2018.

Great but, they showed up an hour after their 'window' of time and didn't text or call to let us know. Thankfully, we had someone home all day so, it wasn't a big deal (they get a 'B' for that because I'm assuming good intent given that traffic in our city is simply terrible). The service itself was fine; they (of course) noticed other things about this 'soon to be retired' furnace so, instead of paying under $200, we ended up spending close to or over $700. The service, the fan needed to be cleaned (it appears that the furnace was not covered when the house went through a sheet rock job a year or two ago) and the 3rd part whose name/description escapes me at the moment. It was a bit much for me to ask for this old furnace to only be a basic service job since the place was a rental for 10 years and the remodel was done to get it on the market so, in the end, I may have pushed back more if it was newer and/or had more time to get quotes before winter. In the end, they were very professional about the service from the phone call to book the appointment to them actually doing the work.

Went in more of a problem than I thought, in all repairs were done beyond my expectations and Kyle was an awesome representative of Black Lion, Would highly recommend.

Hired Black Lion to come out and service the HVAC unit. Coincidentally, when they came to service, there was a fan motor that broke. it was fortunate that the motor was in stock on the truck. We were also informed that the auto-shut-off water pump had failed, so that too had to be replaced. We agreed. We signed up for the 12 month servicing agreement. This was December 2016 I had to follow up myself on the 6 month servicing, in late Sept (10 mos). The technician informed me that there were an additional $3,500-$5,000 in repairs. $7k in repairs in less than a year? A new system can be purchased for this money. Disappointed and it just didn't feel right.

All was good, only problem was the workman forgot to turn the power circuit back on. It was an easy fix that I figured out on my own, but it could have resulted in having to call them back.

For the age of the furnace no surprises. I religiously change my filter every 3 months during the relatively warm Seattle winter.

Overall it went pretty well. The technician was knowledgeable and able to fix the problem. My only comment was that there was a bit of miscommunication between the technician and his front office. The front office had quoted one price and the technician was going to charge for the separate actions. The technician clarified with the front office. Had I not been there when the technician finished I might have been charged the higher ala carte price.

They were terrible. Both of the folks I contacted told me that they couldn't fix the problem. That they needed to replace the unit I had. And that was going to cost tens of thousands of dollars. I was advised by a local contractor to contact another company. They figured out it was just the thermostat downstairs was turned off. All we had to do was turn the thermostat on and the furnace came on. So these contractors just came and gave me a story about having to replace the furnace when all they had to do was just turn it on. There were a couple of options depending on which unit I would buy ranging from $12,000 to $25,000.

Black Lion responded promptly to our query. They came out and provided a recommended solution as well as other options. Adam explained what would be done with the different options and answered our questions. The work was scheduled the following week and the Black Lion team came out and went about the task of replacing the old furnace and installing a new furnace and heat pump. The work looked professional, they were very courteous and friendly in answering my questions about their work. The entire task was completed in one long day with the work areas being cleaned before they left. Would easily recommend them to my friends and family.

I left a key; they did the furnace inspection, cleaned the furnace, and changed the filter. There were no additional fees or anything.

Overall Black Lion was great. Our salesperson, Tyrel, was absolutely wonderful. He was very low pressure and patiently answered all of my questions. The installers showed up promptly and worked fast. My only complaint is their electricians. The did a really sloppy job running the electrical from the panel to the outdoor unit - they just punched holes in the drywall instead of using a junction box. It worked but it looked horrible. Black Lion sent a different electrician out to fix it and it looks much better. It has worked great throughout this long, hot summer! It was a worthwhile investment in my home.

Mark came out and said the blower motor was leaking oil and needed replacement. But if the motor's going, then the heat exchangers aren't far behind. You can replace both, but that'll be more than a new furnace. I'll work up the estimate. ... He spent another 40 mins. on the furnace and charged $136 for the call. We called another guy. He said the blower motor needs replacing, but the heat exchangers are fine and should be good for many more years. He also said the furnace wasn't cleaned or the gas calibrated. So, I don't know what Mark was doing all that time. Black Lion also didn't offer the range of blower motors available, including a high-efficiency model.

I wanted to see what kind of condition my furnace was because I got the house 13 years ago and I have had it checked a couple of times but I wanted to have it checked again. They guy said the whole furnace had to be replaced. I was wondering about that and wanted more than one estimate. They called back right away. They showed up on time. They were professional. If I were asked to recommend them, if they were getting 2 or 3 estimates, I would probably recommend them. If they were only getting one estimate, I do not think I would only because I doubted that I needed a new furnace. That is a huge expense and I am not going to do it on one persons say so.

We had Black Lion come out to our home to tune up our gas furnace through Angie's List a year or more ago and were very pleased with them so we hired them again a week ago. We did not go through Angie's List to contact them this time because we had used Black Line thru Angie's List previously and felt they were very good. When we called Black Lion we told them what we wanted done. Asked them if they do gas fireplaces and they said yes. We told them it was a Napoleon Brand and gave them the model number. When the repairman came out he seemed surprised that we wanted the fireplace repaired and said that they no longer carry parts for fireplaces. He tuned up the furnace and cleaned and descaled the hot water tank, BUT when it came to the fireplace he appeared not to know how to address this problem. He fiddled around for a while and then told us that the gas valve needed to be replaced which the part was $678.68 + tax and that the thermopile might need to be replaced for $238.36 + tax. We declined those repairs but were charged a diagnostic fee of $90 plus tax. Needless to say we paid the entire bill of $312.54 for all the work done that day. The following week we had a gas stove service company come out and he took the entire fireplace apart, put a meter on both the gas valve assembly and the thermopile and there was absolutely nothing wrong with either of those parts. He did find that the spring in the button you push to light the pilot light was broken and that the gas orifice was plugged. Thus the reason the fireplace didn't work. The total parts cost $55.90 and labor $272.25 for a total of $328.15 + tax and the fireplace works well. Black Lion wanted $917.04 + tax for parts if both parts needed replacing, and they charged us $90 + tax for the diagnose of the problem. What we don't understand is why they wouldn't have told us when we first called that they didn't do fireplaces that much and suggest that we call someone else for that appliance. The repairman was very nice and seemed to do a very good job on the furnace and on demand hot water tank. But he diagnosed the fireplace to require the most expensive parts to replaced. We feel that Black Lion should at least refund the money we paid for the diagnosis of the fireplace. We didn't have concerns with the furnace or the hot water tank, but gave them an F overall because of the the fireplace.

EXACTLY as promised and expected. Brian was superb and the installers did a great job AND they cleaned up after themselves.

I would tell a friend of family about them.

Pretty bad to be honest. They came in and poked around in there. Told me there was some stuff wrong and then told me they would get back with me on parts availability and a quote and have been radio silent ever since. They replaced the filter but there was no actual work completed and I didn't even get the quote I was promised.

Outstanding, Awesome, Fast, Clean. I also spoke with the manager, expressed my gratitude for the technician who came to my home. Excellent Service. I use this company for my annual Furnace tune up for the past 5 years and I am very satisfied.

I asked for a detailed estimate and they would only provide a one price for the job with no details. It is like they were trying to hide something.
