He checked things out, but then told us all of the (very expensive) things we ought to have done. One was replace our Honeywell electronic filter. Later we had a plumber hear looking at our water heaters, and I mentioned the filter, and he said, "Don't bother - just buy one of those paper accordion-type filters and change it once a year" - way cheaper. I understand that these specials are a loss leader to find new business, but when it's mostly a sales presentation, it's less than ideal.

They did all assigned duties and were even early for the job.

Signed up for $3500 AC. When they came out they evaluated my furnace and system and told me I should wait until our remodel to install the AC. Extremely helpful and professional. Will definitely contact in the future when I do the remodel.

He came out for the appointment and as far as I know everything went fine.

We were unable to use the big deal due to the additional costs associated with the service. The gentleman that came out was very professional and polite. We would highly recommend, we just wanted to wait for this service.

We hired Black Lion to clean our furnace. They arrived on time, were efficient and very pleasant, explained what to look for, gave a thorough inspection, cleaned up work area when finished, would use them again.

They are top rated. We had 5 people come out for the estimate, and we were very impressed by their presentation. Their prices were comparable to others. They have great product, which is Bryant products. They were excellent work with. They were very polite and everything was so clean that you could not even tell they were there. We would absolutely use them in the future. They have great follow up. Scheduling with them was very good as well.

When they heard that my existing water heater was leaking, they moved other appointments around to get my job done sooner. Showed up on time, installation was painless, completely satisfied.

Black Lion did a very good job and we enjoyed everyone we worked with. The crew was friendly and professional and worked well together. They even cleaned out our gutters on a really nasty, cold day. The water heater has been great and it is given us a lot of extra room in the downstairs basement. Now, we can start the bathroom remodel. The only snafu if the transaction was a miscommunication with Rinnai to register the unit within 30 days. The deal was that you'd get another year of the warranty if registered within that time frame. Before leaving, I asked the owner about registration and he said he was going to take care of that. A few months later I was investigating getting a recirc pump and I was up on Rinnai's web site. Long story short, the unit was never registered, so he must have forgotten. I contacted Black Lion and asked if it had been done. The communication wasn't as responsive as I'd like, often with days between returning emails; this was a big deal to me. Getting that extra year was part of the deal for me and is what made me chose Rinnai in the first place. It took reaching out to him several times to have him contact Rinnai and set the record straight. I am still not sure if it is settled, he never confirmed anything with me. The last communication I got was "On the line with them [Rinnai] as we speak". I left it at that. So, I am disappointed in the after-sale service and it's unfortunate because they did a great job. Maybe he was embarrassed that he forgot to register the unit even though he said he would. Mistakes happen, just own up to them, I would have understood. But not hearing anything made me feel like I wasn't an important customer anymore. This experience was very disappointing to me because everything up to and including the installation was stellar. I was all poised to write an across-the-board glowing review. This does not mean I would not recommend them, I would. But my suggestion to the owner: Treat your customer well, whether they are buying anything or not. I am taking off marks for Responsiveness and Professionalism because of the handling of the registration issue.

From start to finish I had an excellent experience! Heather helped me set up the initial assessment appointment, installation, and post inspection. Jerry and Jason installed our first air conditioner and replaced our gas furnace on the same day. Both of them were pleasant, professional, and did little extras like set up my new control panel when I was confused about it. Everything works as it should and we saved thousands on significantly more energy efficient equipment. From this point forward we will only use Black Lion for routine inspections and eventually, future repairs and replacements!

They were supposed to get back with us and we had to call to get in touch with them. Finally they told us they couldn't’t do it unless we did an upgrade.

Our hot water heater was leaking and Black Lion came out and installed a new hot water heater for us. The one they brought out they found would not fit in the area that our hot water heater was, so they ran to back to their location and got a slim hot water heater and had everything replaced within 2 hours (included the trip back to the shop). They did an excellent job. We had used them prior for an issue with our furnace and they are extremely responsive and attentive. Would use them again.

I thought that there might be something wrong with our 34 year old electric furnace but wasn't sure. It would come on just fine but wasn't as hot as we remembered. It had a bad sequencer and was running at 30% efficiency. Unlike our previous repair firm, Black Lion did not try to sell us an expensive new system or heat pump. They told us what the issue was, ordered the part and were exactly on time both days they came. If you have an older furnace and don't want to replace it, I would call them without hesitation.

It worked out good. I've had no problems. It went smoothly. It was all positive. There are no negatives that I can think of. They were nice guys. It was a good experience. They stuck with the big deal price.

It was okay. They didn’t resolve the issue that we were having but they were courteous and prompt. The guy kept saying he was going to come and we were waiting around and he didn’t come.

They did a great job. They are good people to work with. They are very friendly and we interviewed 5 companies. They were the last company to interview and they had good presentation. Their information was well-ogranized and they were honest and they had good knowledge of the products. They were just amazing when they were here. They were friendly, their team was great. Their clean up was also great, I do not think I found anything on the ground. I would highly recommend them.

Overall everything went incredibly well. There were no hidden fees or questions during the process...even though this was all new to me. Ben and Black Lion did exactly what they told me they would. The installation was quick and thorough. I had a follow up question after the installation and Ben was more than happy to help out. We love the AC and are very pleased with this transaction! Would definitely use them again and have referred them to my friends.

I was satisfied with their service. They were very thorough and straight up with me what was needed to be done. I think that there was something that he felt should be changed that we didn't have and he would get back to me when we have that part and he never did so I was disappointed in that and I haven't contacted them again.

Great! All around very easy to do business with, highly communicative office staff, and professional technician. He explained how to clean the electronic filters and re-install them. I was pleased with the whole experience.

Ben was punctual and professional, focused and quickly diagnosed the issue with the decreased efficiency on my AC. He suspected the faulty valve and had to pick up the valve from a coworker nearby, came back, replaced the valve and refilled the refrigerant. He was available to explain the work. No up-sale. He came back a week later (punctual again) and made sure the pressure held in the lines. Very satisfied with the work. The cost was more than what I expected from the "AC tune-up" but it understandably took a little more work than simple inspection. No one likes to spend $$$ and I thought the price is probably comparable to competitors. Would certainly use them again.

I've had excellent service from them. There were also the ones that I bought a coupon from to do work on my tankless hot water heater. They will be doing that work soon. They were absolutely excellent. I was delighted to see them do an offering on Angie's List. They were so kind. They were amazing. They came out on Christmas Eve and didn't charge me.

Ben arrived Saturday afternoon and, using a garden hose, he emptied out the brown water. I was impressed about how much Ben had remembered from our conversation in December and this greatly personalized our interaction. Now the leak couldn't get any worse. I had another commitment on Monday morning, and Ben sent out a new tank in the afternoon. I can't remember the names of the two installers, but they were very helpful. I now have hot water again.
