Black Lion Heating & Air Conditioning

After a long bid process, we finally agreed to use Black Lion. They were able to match all the bids we got and clearly were aggressive at getting our business. I assumed this would mean that we would receive their best service. Mostly accurate. All good things to say about the company, they even put in our extended warranties for us. The only knock is that the cold air return box they installed the first time was poorly done. I tried to address it on the day of install but they said it was fine. They had to come out and redo it, but the underlying issue is that they cut too aggressively and they had to extend the flashing to cover the gap. Otherwise, I am happy with everything else. Would definitely hire them again.

Excellent service, completed service, went over details with me. Replaced filter and suggested we do that every 3 months or so. Very pleased with the company and their service.

They were very prompt and they were very efficient. They did the same thing that my other company does for around $250, I thought it was a good deal.

I originally got a bid from Brennan and was just getting a bid from Black Lion as a second opinion - but I was super impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism of Black Lion. They came out right away, on a schedule that worked for me and quickly provided their own bid. I sometimes had trouble even getting the Brennan guy to get back to me or even carefully read my questions in email. The Black Lion bid was not only substantially lower, but they were able to get the job done faster, and they are closer to where I live. Felt like dealing with a family business more than a big corporation. They arrived on time and handled the install very well. They accidently poked a hole in a wall where it should not have been, and they took complete responsibility for hiring a drywall professional to make it like new again. Really happen with all the people in the office and in the field. Two weeks after the install I lost power to the furnace and could not figure it out - I called them up and they were out the next day, found the problem (which was completely my fault) and rectified the problem - No Charge! I could not be happier to give my business to a hard working and responsible local company. I encourage you to give them a call!

They missed their 2 hour window for their appointment. When we called they acted like it wasn't scheduled correctly somehow. They then sent a guy to come within an hour of calling which was ok. But when he arrived he didn't even apologize for their error. I waited around for over 3 hours in our house when I had things to do on my day off. An apology would have been nice. He checked our furnace but then FORGOT TO TURN WATER HEATER PILOT light BACK ON. I didn't even realized they messed with that since they came to check out our furnace. So the next morning we sure were shocked when our water was totally cold for showers. So my husband had to go to work without a shower as he did not have time to wait for it to get warm. My husband thankfully fixed it, if it would have been just me I would have had no idea what to do. I never did call them to tell them about this mistake, but it was annoying.

I requested bids from three of Angie's Lists top reviewed service providers. Black Lion came out on top in terms of professionalism, price and warranty. Brian was our sales rep. and literally came the next day after I submitted an online request for a home consultation. I find it odd that companies can submit a bid without coming to your home. We discussed options for my home and placement of the unit, and he provided estimates for my two options in less than 6 hours. Talk about quick to respond. I had additional questions throughout the evening, and he was quick to respond to my inquiries. On installation day, Jerry and Jason showed up promptly at 8:30. We did not have the foresight to clean up the garage to access the furnace, but they didn't complain. They helped me move items around to give them direct access. They worked efficiently, were polite and professional in any questions or requests, and did a great job with the installation. I did not meet the electrical team, but again, moved stuff around without complaint to access the electrical panels and install the wiring. Finally Jerry wrapped up the process by showing me how to work the newly installed thermostat and answer any remaining questions. I'm pleased with their work and professionalism, our house was cool on an 80 degree Saturday and my garage is cleaner than prior to installation.

Jason was the installer and did an outstanding job. Originally, due to space limitations, the coil was to be installed in the crawl space. However, Jason was able to modify the furnace and furnace box to neatly fit the coil under the furnace located in our garage. I am very pleased with the quality of work he performed. Also, the electrician did an outstanding job running the power lines in the attic so no wires or conduits are visible. Based on our experience I would recommend Black Lion to our friends and neighbors.

arrived `15 min late, but apologized and confirmed that he had bad phone number for me thus couldn't warn me on late arrival. Service call itself was perfect, lots of explanation and high attention to details. I just recently bought the house and furnace didn't have any recent service dates recorded so I just wanted peace of mind and have it inspected at the same time. Very happy with the deal cost and service quality would recommend to family.

He came on time and serviced the furnace. Since the furnace was working before and after he was here, I assume everything went well.

He found a leak in the pump. I had him replace it asked him how much and he was to quick to quote a price.of $200. Thought it was high so looked on line and found the pump he was putting in for 39.00 on line . I showed him what I could get it for and he said he would check the price again. He charged 70.00. So I was happy. I had to call the next day cause only cold was coming out of the vents. I called and they sent someone out right away. It was minor job, he explained he had to tighten the screws. Yes I would hire them again. My furnice is working great, better than before.

Unfortunately, the visit didn't go as smooth as I would have liked. Firstly, he was suppose to come between 2:30 to 4 but came around 4:30. Second, he was under the impression that he was here for Furnace but I scheduled for AC service. He decided to check both so that was nice of him. He recommended changing furnace igniter as it may burn out soon and also recommended preventative maintenance on A/C. Provided me quotes for both. Before leaving he forgot to turn on the gas for the furnace. It took me sometime to figure out why the house was not heating up and eventually I found the issue. Lastly, he replaced my highend allergy and odor absorbent filter with a basic 4 inch one. My wife didn't know the difference so was ok with the change however I tried to get the original one back but it was already disposed. Overall, several small things accumulated to make this not a good experience. I will try some other company next time.

I bought a deal off Angie's List for a tune up. Black Lion emailed me through Angie's list and we set up an appointment for 04/20/2015 and they said they would come between 1-3PM. I only get to use 5 days off per year of work. I used up 1 of those days so I could be home for the service. Well I was sitting at home all day and finally around 3:45, I give them a call to see what time they would have a service member come out. They told me I was scheduled for 04/27 when clearly in the email the appointment was for 04/20. They offered to reschedule, but I did not want to burn another day off work for them since I wasted a day already. Very disappointing. I asked for a refund.

I bought a $75 big deal for this service and they were terrific. They responded quickly, came exactly when they said they said they would, did exactly the service they said they would do and left everything tidy. They were very professional in all of the dealings.

I purchased a big deal for this service and it was excellent. We were very pleased. They were wonderful and were so nice. I could not be here so my son who lives out of town was here. They did a great job and left the house clean. I was able to come home and have them explain everything to me. They did a very nice job and were very professional. Everything was great.

The installation went smooth and the installers did everything that was discussed before the installation. The installers were very professional and courteous and completed the job in one day.

We were very satisfied with the service that he gave us for the amount that we paid. We were fine with that even though we ended up buying a new furnace. There was no delay, it was done as soon as we could schedule it within a day or two. There was no additional charge. They are a very capable company, and we would recommend them. We did not buy the furnace from them, because we wanted another brand and they bid us otherwise or we would have done a lot more business with them. They were very thorough in explaining what was going on, and he took pictures and emailed us the pictures showing the rust inside and the parts, and he said we really shouldn't do a fix. He was very honest, and they were really good. The pricing for the service call was fine.

They came and gave me options for fixing or replacing. They also explained that the furnace that was installed when the house was built was not big enough. I did some reading and found that they were correct. It wasn't strong enough to really heat the house properly. Black Lion was helpful answering my questions and after the new furnace was in, I couldn't believe how much better it was! The house heats up quickly and stays warm. They were great about getting the furnace in quickly which I appreciated since it was winter.

These guys are absolutely the best! We've used them three times now and they are always fantastic. Their bid for work on installing our AC was very impressive. I'd sourced two other companies and received bids that were all $1k+ over Black Lions - AND those companies did not provide all costs upfront on their bills (things such as city license, inspections, etc.). For both the AC unit and the Water heater, we've saved over $2k. The only issue was even though I mentioned I was an Angie's list member, they didn't apply the discount to the first job of installing an AC - so double check your bill because we could have saved some money. Their quality is amazing - all of their employees are respectful, quiet, punctual, and really know what they are doing. I can't recommend this company enough!

What a great experience all the way around. Very knowledgeable representative came for the initial visit to explain the process and answer my questions. The entire crew came out on the same day for the installation. They came when they said they would, it took as long as they said it would, the entire crew was fantastic. Very friendly, very professional and walked me through the operation of the system. It works great and we're very happy! Great price too!

I have to admit I'm a little confused as they told me the furnace was failing and offered me a quote for eventual repair or replacement. I called in a second company who told me it was old but they couldn't see any signs of failure. They also checked the CO level outside and it showed appropriate levels. So I'm not sure what to think.
