They installed the new water heated December 15, 2015 which also included a 10 year warranty. After the install I noticed on my paperwork that the warranty papers stated only a six year warranty. I contacted the service provider and Angie's List regarding the discrepancy in the warranty. Angie's List noted and the service provider told me over the phone they would mail an additional four year warranty to me in a day or two. It has been six days. I contacted the service provider again today and they told me the same that they would mail the additional four year warranty to me in a day or two. I contacted Angie's List again today and was offered Conflict Resolution. The service provider has misinformed me once and now I am waiting again for the paper work for the four warranty that was promised. This is very poor service and unprofessional. If I were do this purchase and service again, I would use another service provider. UPDATE: I eventually received the extended warranty documentation in the mail 5 days later. But I know of at least one other person who bought the same deal and was also given the 6 year warranty initially; only when he asked about it, he was told the terms of the deal would be honored. This smacks of systematically deceptive business practices, and mine doesn't appear to be a one-off case.

They did a very good job. There were no additional charges. He was punctual and he did a good job.

Appt went very smoothly -- on time, did advertised work, answered my questions. This was an Angie's deal, and I ended up paying more because of timing--it was offered for less before and after I purchased it. Still, the price was less than other quotes I received from other companies. Overall, very satisfied.

We paid an additional cost for the services because they had to replace the fan.I'm thinking they used the $99 dollars just to walk into the door. They should not be so expensive on the fan. The worker was cordial, polite and informative. He cleaned up after himself before he left. The maintenance was excellent. He was responsive and punctual.

Punctual, good advice, very professional. Beyond the serivce, they did find a broken part on the furnace which they fixed. He did a good job communicating the problem and helping me understand what was required to fix it.

Overall, an excellent experience. Very efficient, straightforward and easy. Brian came to do an estimate - on time, quickly, very easy, received the estimate the next day. Easy to schedule the installation and the installer showed up right on time. The installation went smoothly. Excelletn attention to keeping the workspace clean and tidy. The new unit (Bryant 315A ) and thermostat all working flawlessly. Only glitch was that estimator thought we needed a chimney liner, but when came to install, installer noted one was in place. We were billed for liner, but once we requested refund, it was provided promptly. Would definitely recommend. Excellent service and prices was mid point of estimates we received (three total).

Very well. The young man performing the work, Jerry, was on time and knowledgeable and professional. He gave me a candid review of my older furnace with details about worn parts and prospects for the future. A good experience across the board.

I canceled their services, I did not need a heat pump tune up

I have used Black Lion several times now - for a couple of furnace tune-ups and to replace a hot water tank. Jerry arrived on time. He had been here previously to help with the hot water tank. All the employees I have worked with have been very personable and courteous. Everything went very well. I'm ready for another winter! Thank you

I bought a big deal for an annual furnace tune up. My Coleman unit was barely 5 years old, top of the line, and had never once given me any trouble. While tuning up, the repair person indicated that the collector box had rust and should be replaced sooner vs. later. I told him that it was under warranty and while I was on hold with Coleman trying to verify that, he got off the phone with his office and confirmed that it was and that I would have to pay for labor. Not knowing any better, I did (I later confirmed that I had a full 10 year parts AND labor warranty). The bill for 'labor only' was $287 for 30 minutes or so, and the technician left all of the rust in the unit. A few days later, my formerly flawless heater stopped working entirely, and I was informed that I needed a new pressure switch. Again, they told me, it was under warranty, but was $350 for labor. I agreed, not knowing any better, and they came back to do a job that took all of 15 minutes to do. I then called Coleman to complain about the high cost to me for a "covered" repair, and they asked why the company was charging me labor on a warranty claim in the first place? I then called with my warranty number to have Black Lion refund the money I paid for labor, but Ben was away all week and apparently the only one that could do it (why? It was an accounting issue, not a service issue at the time). The following week I called, he was on a service call. I asked for an office staff person and was told that there was not one. I asked who is processing my refund and again got the runaround, and was told that they hadn't even contacted my warranty company almost a month later. Based on some of the reviews of false work, I'm not even sure if anything was wrong to begin with, but not only was I completely overcharged, trying to get a refund is a nightmare. It's a shame because the service guys were actually very nice, but I can't speak to their competence since I've had nothing but trouble since they touched it.

Even though my paperwork clearly stated that I was to get my furnace's annual inspection and a filter change, when they showed up they said that they were there to clean the ducts (which I hadn't requested). When I spoke to them on the phone to schedule, I stated that I would like the add-on services of checking to find out why the thermostat and the furnace were not working in sync (meaning that we had no control over when the furnace ran and when it didn't) and that I would like a one-year filter installed (instead of a three-month one). I was assured by whomever answered the phone that this would not be a problem. When they showed up (after calling to schedule and then immediately calling back to reschedule because they had a conflict (does the right hand know what the left had is doing?), they were not prepared to perform the service that I paid for. Nor did they even carry a one-year filter, but only a longer-term filter that you would have to pay to have cleaned periodically. I am totally unsatisfied and will not use this company again. I need a refund.

Easy schedule, on time, work complete as expected.

The tech was young but got the diagnosis right. He showed me the burnt out part, described what he needed to do and did it promptly. He spent extra time looking over the unit cleaning it and testing the repaired unit. It actually didn't work properly after the repair,but he eventually figured out that there was a simple reset correction. When he left the unit was clean repaired and I knew how to maintain it. The cost was substantially less than the other company who came out and recommended a list of repairs several of which were unecessary and other were just add ons like cleaning the unit. BlackLion got out quick, got the part and fixed the furnace the same day. Reliable Honest and Reasonably Priced... What more could you ask for?

Great, They offered an inspection contract for the future, but no pressure when I decided against it.

Great response and overall we would have been happy except we were way overcharged for a gas hose that needed to be replaced as part of the tune up. We were charged over $100 for this hose! If it weren't for the overcharge on the hose I would have given these guys all "A's".

Black Lion's representative, Brad, was courteous, professional, efficient, and extra helpful. I had not recieved useful customer care from Honeywell's Customer Service Line with a question about opening the thermostat panel. Brad showed me how to open the thermostat panel and replaced the batteries for me at no additional cost. And Black Lion's Custoemr Service representative, Linnea, was efficient and a pleasure to talk to when I set up, and later confirmed, the appointment.

We were under a time crunch to replace the gas water heater in the home we were selling. The one we had was working but the buyers insisted it be replaced ARGH! Black Lion was offering a special on Angie's List and had good reviews. He was very responsive to my inquiry and able to schedule the work quickly. All went smoothly.

From Angie list we saw black lion has promotion. Our water heater and furance are 20 years old Brian met us at home, and we don't want base model. Brian suggest us Brant 315 2 stage furance, from amazon, this is a pretty good product. We shopping around 3 vendors, Black lion provide most competitive price. We communicated in email and sort out all details and working with Brian. The project completed on 11/24, his crews are professional and get the job done pretty well. They also introduce their service to us.

The technician showed up at the promised time (I got a call ahead from the service provider's call center to let me know the technician was on their way). Service was very professional. The technician worked with me to adjust the fan speeds on the furnace and also provided more information about how the system worked. Overall a very pleasant experience and good value for the money.

Service went well. On time and professional. My wife asked for an invoice of what all was performed and the technician indicated it was on his hand held computer, but that we would receive a copy in the mail. After a week or so went by and no invoice, we called and were informed they do not provide a separate invoice for the tune-up package we bought from Angie's List. So although all seems fine, I don't know what all was performed for my records.
