Poorly. As part of the purchase process asked me to select three potential dates. I picked three dates starting two weeks out. Never heard anything from the company about those dates. Finally called them to get them to schedule the service. The CSR who answered my call took my information and said she'd get back to me. She never did. When I called again, another CSR booked my service time, but seemed put off when I mentioned that I was expecting a call back as promised. Just from the scheduling standpoint, pretty crappy. At no time did anyone apologize for the delay in booking the requested times or for not getting back to me. Finally get the service call today. My wife was home and declined to offers to spend $300 here and another $300 there. I get home from work to discover the thermostat is off. Hmmm. Looks like the newly tuned and inspected furnace isn't working. Which it isn't. Call their emergency line, technician calls back. Apparently he forgot to turn the power back on. OK. I get a Furnace Tune Up and Inspection, but I guess that doesn't include the final check to ensure that the Furnace actually works. So I reset the breaker, Furnace doesn't start. There's a service code indicating that there is a fuse blown. The technician was on the phone helping me diagnose the problem and he did offer to come replace the fuse, but that would have been a long trip for him, so I ended up going to a auto store and buying some replacement fuses. Now the furnace works. But. Really? You don't check to see if the furnace you're tuning and inspecting works before you leave? I'm supposed to have confidence that you've done all the other parts of the job correctly? At least I'm capable enough to read the service code and install a new fuse, but is everyone?

I signed up for a thing where I get it twice a year for the same amount. They were pretty good. The price was reasonable. They weren’t the most expensive and they weren’t the least expensive. It was adequate. They did a good job. They were here on time. They were very professional and up to date on everything and honest. I think they sent out a card just the other day with a reduction on a price on a heating system and that I would get a $200 credit if I told them if I gave a recommendation so I passed it around the neighbourhood.

1. They were 45 minutes late but I accepted their reason -- Internet was down. 2. Very pleasant guys 3. However, they could not tell me if my electronic air filter was working or not. If not them, then WHO? 4. Didn't put in a paper filter as listed on the Angie's List buy. Told me to buy a 16 x 20 x 4" if I wanted to replace the electronic one. 5. Said sealed motor was leaking oil. Quoted $700 to replace motor. When I prodded them for an estimate for the longevity of my existing motor, they said about 2 years. 6. One of the two gentlemen asked to use my bathroom, which I agreed but was not completely comfortable with it.

They were very good. We would use them again in the future. In fact, we called them to do the yearly maintenance on it.

Did not expect dishonest upselling tactics from such a highly rated company. The technicians were courteous and professional, and took a look at my furnace. Even before they diagnosed they were talking about how 10 year old furnaces may be at the end of their lives, even though the rated life is 15-18 years. They then told me the circuit board is blown because of the power surge before the outage, and can be replaced for $900. Also, the heat exchanger was wearing out and there was a danger of CO-gas leak. They recommended that instead of spending all that money on repairs, I just replace the furnace for around $4k. I was surprised that the guys who had serviced my furnace just a few weeks ago hadn't told me about the heat exchanger. So I called another company to get a second/third opinion. The technician took one look at my furnace and told me that the transformer was blown, and it cost less than $150 to replace. If the furnace still didn't turn on, then the circuit board would be the culprit but that didn't seem likely as the transformer was visibly blackened. He finally got my furnace started after replacing just the transformer. I also made him check the heat exchanger which has no impending problems. $150 v/s $4000 or even $900 is a big difference, don't you think?

The cost was reasonable and ballpark with others.

It was sufficient. They gave recommendations on what I might need for my furnace, but I didn't do any of those. The workers were good. It only took about 20 minutes. The area was clean.

It worked out kind of well after the second iteration. They came out and really did not do a great job of initial check, but they came back after the fact because there was some problems with the furnace a month later. They came back and they said "listen we understand that we had a team member come out here and do a check, we did not know if he really did that great of a job, we apologize for that, we'll deduce that cost off of really getting in here and changing out your furnace. Black Lion came in here and kind of cleaned up a little bit of a mess on their diagnostic check by coming in and reducing that cost, and giving a really good deal and a package. What I ended up having to was use Black Lion to change out my heat press. In the long run of it it all worked out and they were all very good, and a good upfront company. They kind of backed what they were doing, but they did have to apologize for the guy that came out and did the diagnostic, and that he really didn't do a good job. They originally charged the $179 to put everything together and obviously taxes, it's like $200 bucks. They deducted that directly out of the cost of the furnace change. They're like "okay we'll give you the normal discounts and everything else we're currently having for Angie's List members on equipment, which was like a 20% discount and we'll just take the $200 off". Pricing was comparative, it was right in line with everyone else. Obviously after the discounts we got it cheaper than what we would normally get it. The installation team was amazing, they ran into some problems where they had to redo duct work and do it right and everything. The installation team was outstanding, they went above and beyond during the installation. They got here midday and they were there until 10:00 pm. They weren't gone until everything was finished. They were there for a very long time. That's why I'll use them again because they realized "wow that's not what we want to do, and clearly the person that came out here made a huge blender. It took some convincing, but they came here and and really fixed the problem.

Furnace check up and cleaning went fine but the furnace filters were not cleaned.

It went fine. The service guys were on time, friendly. One was obviously in training. Some equipmet was not brought along so they used my husband's things which I volunteered. At the end of the call, I was told an inspection of the install would need to be done by county. I was a bit surprised at this as we've had another water heater installed professionally in our garage and no inspection necessary as no permit was pulled. The service guys asked me what date would be preferrable, in am/pm, and put me down for the following Wednesday, saying I would be notified as to when it is set up. 6 days later, day before set date, no phone call so I called Black Lion and explained. Well, sure enough no inspection was required because...no permit was needed for this. I think that the service personnel should know this about each install: permitted/not permitted? So this exercise doesn't have to be gone through. Otherwise, they did a fine job.

They do not handle electric heating so there was no work done.

Terrible. Poor work quality, overcharged and under delivered. Installed a damaged gas furnace and did not offer a discount. Punctuality was poor, very late- no call to let us know. Professionalism does not exist with this company. They will go out of their way to try to cause problems and retaliate after leaving a bad, yet completely accurate review.

Went very well. They were on the job quickly since we had no heat in an old home that had been vacant for several years. Gave us a good bid and completed the work quickly and efficiently.

Everything went smoothly except for after the work was completed and inspection done - at which time it was explained that the furnace was nearing the end of its life (not unexpected given it is 34 years old) - it was stated that someone would call to give me an estimate as to cost of a new furnace. That was Wednesday, but as of Monday no call. Since furnace is still working this delay is not a serious concern, but eventually I'll need to get some estimates for a new furnace and since they got good reviews and I was satisfied with the work done I will certainly want an estimate from them before replacing the furnace.

Workman was on time, did his job efficiently and notified me of a potential future issue with the equipment.

Unit advertised on Angie's was a Lennox furnace at $1799 but Black lion quoted and installed a Bryant furnace. The issue was that the Angie's list price for the Bryant was $1599. Black Lion quickly resolved the problem and all was good.

It went well, got an estimate and was able to schedule the work within two weeks. The only thing that took longer than anticipated was getting the inspector to come out, but Brenda was very helpful in scheduling the inspection.

Wonderful install and our new furnace works amazing. Completely satisfied. My wife and I are snug as a bug and know no matter winter may throw at us, we will be snug and warm.

I called Black Lion on Monday and spoke to Brenda who was able to have a service person out at my house the next day. Jerry arrived exactly on time and spent at least an hour thoroughly examining our aging furnace. He gave us several options for repair, or replacement and installation of a new system. He even gave our son an adorable brand new black lion stuffed animal! Incredible service! Thank you!
