Description of Work: Replaced an old gas water heater with a new one. They suggested a mixing valve set up, which allowed us to use a smaller (and cheaper) heater, which gave us more hot water more efficiently. Friendly, professional and quick service. Great experience!

Description of Work: You will see there are apparent contradictions in my ratings but that's because this company failed to respond to my scheduling calls for months(four total), but when they finally did call me back and then showed up,the young man who did the work was wonderful....polite, prompt, courteous, helpful and professional. Unfortunately, the lag in their response lead to damage in or furnace (the heat exchange?) so though is was old, we now must replace it for safety reasons (carbon monoxide leaks?) A more timely response on their part would not have prevented the eventual replacement, but it would have given us more time.

Description of Work: Performed maintenance check on furnace and replaced blower fan.

Description of Work: He pointed out that I had a frozen condensate pipe on my efficiency heater. Heater shuts off unless that pipe can flow. Recommended I insulate pipe, which I did. Problem solved.

Description of Work: We had a great experience with Black Lion and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a friend. Black Lion replaced our 27 year old furnace and added air conditioning at the same time. Brian was the estimator who came to the house and he had a very good, no-pressure approach, and was very professional and informative. He was a pleasure to deal with and promptly responded to our inquiries. Jerry and Brad were the two technicians who installed our systems. They were professional and friendly, showed up on time, and worked non-stop to do the whole job in just one day. They took obvious pride in their work and cleaned up after themselves as well. Black Lion had a certified electrician do the electrical hook-up to the outside air compressor for the AC, and he also did a good job. The new furnace system works great and is much quieter than our old furnace and fan. The permit inspector from the city of Newcastle, who happened to be a former furnace installer himself, was very complimentary about the job that Black Lion had done.
