Description of Work: They replaced old electric furnace with a new one. All work was done very well, on scheduled time, fast and without any problems. But the new furnace had a problem with electronics controlling its operation, this was not related to installation. To fix the problem Black Lion replaced internal parts three times and the thermostat before deciding to take entire furnace back and installing a different model. In total it took about 6 visits and two months to finish the work. This is why I deducted one point in my review. I had the heat entire time and the new furnace is working perfectly fine. It wasn't easy but they did great job eventually and were always very polite and professional. I don't know how to comment the price of service because they spent a lot of their own resources to get the job done.

Description of Work: We purchased the Angie's list special. Black Lion came out and the salesman convinced us to upgrade to a more expensive unit. The unit was the same size, it just had a built in filter, thus saving THEM on installation time. We ended up spending $2,800.00 for the $1,800 Angie's list special. We found out later from the City electrical inspector,that the unit they installed did not have a fan strong enough for the size of our home, consequently, our electricity bill has increased due to the fan having to blow more often. That was the least of our complains against them though.... The biggest issue was the permit. Black Lion charged us $350.00 for the permit, but was hesitant to contact the City Inspector to have the work inspected for the permit to be approved. They told me that "they always pass", and we didn't really need to bother to have it inspected. We disagreed, as it is not a permit, until it is approved. So Black Lion agreed to arrange to have the City Inspector come out 3 weeks later. The inspector found 3 separate issues - one of which was a gas leak - so the permit was not approved. This did not motivate Black Lion. After a good deal of persistence on MY part, Black Lion came out 4 separate times. After each visit I was assured it was repaired and would pass inspection, only to have each City Inspector reject it - for the SAME reasons as outlined in the first inspection. In total, Black Lion came out 5 separate times, and a City inspector, 4 separate times, for errors Black Lion made in their installation. I had to take off work 9 (NINE) times, and make numerous phone calls and e-mails to have it rectified and the permit finally approved. I will NEVER use or recommend Black Lion again to ANYONE!
