Gulin Tile

The worst part of working with Gulin Tile is their terrible responsiveness. It took almost two weeks to get a quote and then the scheduling of the work was a nightmare! We had already picked the manufacturer and style of tile that we wanted, and had gotten Gulin Tile's information from a countertop installation place. Since it was going to be less expensive for us to buy the tile ourselves, we did that. Otherwise, Guilin Tile admitted that they would have marked up the price of the tile by about 15%! So in the end, all we needed them to do was to measure to determine the amount of tile needed, then buy the adhesive and grout to be used, and then install the backsplash. It took them about four hours to measure, and two days to install the backsplash. All in all, Jose Gulin and his son did a pretty good job of installation and the quality of the work appears sound. What was terrible was the lack of responsiveness. It takes days to get them to respond to emails or telephone calls. Scheduling someone to do two days of work should not be as hard as it was. It literally took weeks to work with them and get things on track. That said, you better pay them within a few days of getting the invoice or they will literally show up on your doorstep and ring the doorbell early on a Saturday morning! It is only too bad that they don't show the same promptness in answering their telephone or responding to email. Overall - acceptable work, somewhat pricey, but a major headache to work with.
