Derr Heating and Cooling

My problem is the invoice. It was changed to reflect an increase by $81.00 plus tax. The diagnostic was quoted to me as $139.00 plus tax on two different occasions. The additional $81.00 charge was to “test breaker” which is apparently not included as part of the diagnostic process. The technician turned the breaker switch on and off, that is all, with nothing connected to the breaker panel to make any reading. That is what cost $81.25. I was told by the technician I could pay by check. I have no checks, but, if I had given a check to the technician right then it would’ve been $139.00 plus tax. That’s the billing he showed on his tablet and what I signed for with NO indication of any additional costs. I understand additional costs but we’re supposed to be informed beforehand when there are or may be additional charges. That didn’t happen My heating definitely works now but I don’t have a clear understanding of what he did. I had already checked my breaker panel several times to make sure the switch was on when the problem started. He told me my thermostat in the living room might need to be replaced. Again the only “test” for the breaker panel was turning the switch off and on with nothing connected to give any sort of reading. He definitely tested the heaters using whatever gauge he connected to the heaters and told me they were old but getting sufficient power.

They were friendly and efficient. Would have them come out again to perform maintenance on my furnace.

Adam was amazing. After 2 of the "Big companies" refused to service our heat pump, Adam came out and did it. He is so knowlegable and easy to work with. I would highly recommend him above all the others!

Top notch service!! Adam and his team recently replaced our aging furnace with a state of the art heat pump system. They were professional from the very start of the engagement and have been super easy to work with. They were always on time during the work-days, and left the place cleaner than it was before they started!! We would recommend them for any heating and cooling jobs that you might have!

Old heating system catastrophically failed just before new years day; very cold weather was setting in to boot. Contacted Adam at Derr Heating and Cooling. He understood the urgency and did a site inspection promptly. We sat down and he generated several proposals (different brand systems) as we talked about needs. Immediately accepted one of his proposals and set up install for the following Wednesday. The system arrived a day early and he rearranged his schedule to start the installation a day early (the house was getting pretty cold inside). Adam and his team arrived 15 minutes early and worked through the day. Removal and installation (fabricated parts on site too) was professional and very clean. We had heat by late afternoon and the house has been warmer and more comfortable than it has ever been. Follow up visits to ensure the system is working correctly have been on time and with great results. Adam and his crew are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and thoughtful. A pleasure to have had at our home.
