YODER CONSTRUCTION CO

I first contacted Yoder Construction about mid November 2010 to bid for this job. Barin came over to look at the shower, then promptly sent me an email with attached bid. I felt comfortable with Barin, and his references had great things to say about him and his quality of work.. I emailed him back to let him know I wanted to hire him for the work, then I set out to gather all the material for this job. Over the next 10 to 12 weeks, we had exchanged emails where I would keep him up to date on my material gathering as well as ask a few questions, and he would respond back answering any questions I had. In early February, I emailed again to advise I would have final materials in about a week and to confirm with him the quantity of bullnose tile I needed. He replied back with an answer as usual and also let me know he just started another job and it would be a couple of weeks before starting mine. This was the last I heard from him. He didn't respond to any of my emails or return my calls. I don't know what happened. It's too bad, because I really wanted him to do the work, but at the same time, if I had put down a deposit, and he disappeared, I would have been out a lot of money.

Barin is a true professional. He took on a dirty, complicated, difficult structural job that involved as much investigating as actual work, and he did so without complaint. The crawlspace work was especially crowded and challenging but he got it done. He started with the structural work, and then moved onto the carpentry in the kitchen. Whenever I asked him about taking on another part of the work, his answer was invariably "oh sure." The french doors track was a new product for both of us but he studied it and got the doors hung so they work just like we want them to. The counter in front of the bump out window was elevated and we wanted it all the same height. So he figured it out and lowered that part of the counter. He was the most punctual of everyone on the job. Barin's workmanship is top quality, and he's a good advisor. I was the general contractor on this project and Barin was very patient with my ignorance and learning curve. He is polite and courteous and knowledgeable about construction methods. I don't have his final bill yet for the work that was beyond his original scope, but I expect it will be fair and a good value for the cost. I hope to have him back when we're ready to do the backsplash tile, because that's one of his specialties.

Barin Yoder was prompt in providing an estimate, prompt in starting work once price and scope of work was agreed to. Project proceeded quickly and was completed in good time for the initial estimate.

He was punctual, polite and provided options that I hadn't thought of before. I really appreciated that as it did save me money. He was prompt in returning my initial phone call and coming out to provide an estimate. His estimate was reasonable and he didn't exceed the bid amount. I ended up having additional items done and we talked about it and he gave me a quote on each item. He didn't gouge me. I had several bids for just my shower stall floor re-tile with one bid exceeding $3,000. Yoder Construction did it for a fraction of the cost and he finally repaired a leak I had repaired several times before. I am very pleased with his work and would recommend him any time.

It was a great experience. They were dependable, trustworthy and they paid attention to detail. I highly recommend them.

BARIN IS VERY PERSONABLE. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS FIRST RATE AND COMPLETED ON SCHEDULE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANY INTRICATE DETAILED WORK ON MOST ANYTHING IN THE HOME.
