The initial bid turned out to be less than half the final cost. The work crew was very good but a piano presented problems that should have been dealt with before hand as it was a known problem (by the boss). The piano had to sit out in the rain for a couple of hours while waiting for a special dolly to be rented and brought in (at additional expense). My deposit was cashed, but still appeared on my final bill, until I pointed it out and then was deducted. It was a difficult move, but it could have gone better.

When they first came to give me the estimate, I was told that the workers would use carpeting and booties to keep the house clean, but that never happened. Then when the van tried to cross the border it was not possible because they didn't have the proper documentation to work in Canada, and I was there because I had to go the border to bring my things through customs. So the van had to sit all night long outside waiting, and it had holes in the roof and it started to rain, so most of my boxes were wet. To make things worse, at the end they told me that the estimate I had been given was wrong, because all my things had weighed more than what they had expected and they wanted to charge me $7000 instead of $3500, or we wouldn't get our things. That was extortion. So we ended up calling a lawyer and paying $5000.
