Description of Work: I had three window fogged units replace in the wood window assemblies. Two of the units have internal grids. Apparently the original size and exact layout of the grids are not available any longer, so there is a little mismatch between the windows and their adjacent units. It would have been good to know that up front. | |Before I awarded the work to Valley, Kirk, the glazier, was very helpful in explaining the difficulty to replace one of the units, as it was entirely wrapped in the wood frame - in other words, the window sash was assembled around the glass and the frame is not easily disassembled. He provided a couple of options and was very giving of his time doing so. I did that part of the work myself and it saved me about $500 bucks. | |Prior to the visit I talked the office folks about having another window looked at because of a small leak. I was told it was likely badly flashed siding and I would need to work with a contractor on that. I am a former contractor and the leak has nothing to do with either siding or flashing. | |I discussed the issue with Kirk when he got here, and he was very helpful in explaining how to cure the problem - when it quits raining. Kirk did a good job of cleaning up and I didn't have any follow up work to perform, either inside or outside of the house.

 + -1 moreLeonard came out and did an assessment almost immediately and we liked the price, windows, professionalism. Did $1500 down payment but did not hear from the company for 3 weeks. I finally called and they said the windows were ordered and they would let us know when they came in and set up an install date. After 2 more weeks I again called and the windows had come in so we set up the install date, the Friday before the memorial day week end 2007. Two young men came out and I went to work leaving my phone number if any problems should occur. They installed the 9 windows and cleaned up the area both in and outside. The back door was not installed but left in the garage. The explanation was that it had started to rain and they were one man short on the job. It took 2 calls to Gary to get the back screen door installed. I also told him that the bathroom window had been installed on dry-rot. They did not have anyone to help. I am trying to find a carpenter to fix the area.
Description of Work: We had 9 original, old double paned windows removed and new low e, vinyl installed and one screen door on the back door. Clean-up was done well but bathroom window installed over dry rot which they were supposed to indicate to me if there was any problems encountered during the install and did not. We love the windows but are still trying to get someone to come to fix the dry rot so the bathroom window can be re-installed. They have not sent us a bill, however, as the work is not complete.

 + -1 moreThe windows are great; we haven't had any problems with them at all. The installation process was the best part as they cleaned up after themselves and they were always very careful not to break anything in my home in the process.
Description of Work: They replaced about 16 windows within my home. They are insulated vinyl e2 glass with a lifetime guarantee on window and labor.

 + -1 moreOne of the windows was leaking and the other had its glass loose from the frame, quite dangerous since we have a toddler around. When we were calling around, we thought they were the most personable ones and didn't feel pushy at all. We also wanted a local company to deal with. Another good thing was that we found some positive comments about them on Angie's List.
Description of Work: We have two large windows, one in our bedroom and one in our living room that we needed replaced. They measure around 96 inches by 5 feet. They disposed of the old ones and replaced them with the new ones.

 + 0 moreIt went very well. Their estimate was competitive with the three others we obtained. The estimator was very helpful, thorough and accurate. The workers were efficient and polite, and did a great job. We are very happy with our new windows, and would definitely use Valley Glass again.
Description of Work: Replaced all of the old single pane windows in our house with insulated low-e windows. Old windows and glass were removed. Carpentry work was required to fit the new windows into the sills.

 + -1 moreThey were the lower rate then others, their customer service was very good. Leonard that came out was very efficient and fast at giving the estimate. When he came out with Kevin the critical measurer he explained what needed to be done in order for the job to be done properly and the price never changed. The windows all fit properly. There was a window that we had missed that was hidden behind drywall that they recognized and they replaced it at no additional charge. I couldn't be happier with the company.

 + 0 moreLeonard was the consultant who initially came to the house. He was knowledgeable and not a pushy salesperson, which I appreciated. Their bid was not the cheapest. They did not bring a sample window, so I researched the Certainteed windows they use on my own. I gave them a deposit and they ordered the windows. It took about 5-6 weeks for the windows to come in. I didn't hear anything, so I called and left a message and didn't get a call back. I called again a few days later and they scheduled me. The installation went smoothly and the windows look great. I will hire them again when I have enough money to replace the rest of my windows.
Description of Work: Valley replaced 4 single-hung vinyl windows, and 3 other glass panels. They added interior and exterior trim around one replacement window.

 + -1 moreTHEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE 2-3 DAYS TO GET A NEW ONE AS IT WAS A CUSTOM SIZE. THEY CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS DONE. WHEN I CAME TO PICK IT UP, THEY HAD NOT ONLY MADE A NEW SCREEN, BUT THEY HAD ALSO REPAIRED THE OLD ONE AND TOLD ME TO GO AHEAD AND KEEP IT AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. I WAS PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE.

UNFORTUNATELY, THE WINDOWS HAVE CONTINUED TO LEAK DURING RAINY DAYS AND THE COMPANY HAS MADE SEVERAL VISITS TO MY HOME TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO EXIST AND THE COMPANY NOW WANTS ANOTHER $600 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
