Description of Work: Ed Ford met up with me twice on providing an estimate for work to be performed. I had another contractor out for additional bid but I had expanded the scope, so I wanted Ed to price the same amount of work. He was low both times and with the confidence I felt, even if he had been higher, I would have choosen Top Cut for the Job. No pressure just straight forward and respectful. Started the work as stated and completed on time 3 days of hard work taking down 5 maples, 2 wild cherries, 1 fir and a cedar all approximately 100' within 25' of house or closer like 5'. Also limbed up 25' 4- overgrown cedars, 12 firs, cleaned up everything and the wood loaded and hauled away. The crew worked hard and respectful of surroundings and the neighbors. I will use them in the future it was nice doing business with and old school honest contractor there to make a living doing what he does best. Thanks ED and the Crew!

 + -1 moreTop Cut promptly came out for a free estimate. Ed seemed knowledgeable about the job at hand. On the day of the job, they showed up promptly at the time I was told to expect them. The crew worked efficiently and I was very impressed with how they were able to remove a tree that was very close to our house (almost touching it) and in between our neighbors house skillfully. I felt that they had everything under control. They did a great job cleaning up afterward as well. I'd hire them again!
Description of Work: Cutting down of one tree and grinding the stump, plus grinding two additional stumps.

 + -1 moreThis company's bid was best by far of four I had received. Excellent communication even though he had no email. Showed up promptly for the estimate as well as for the job itself. Wonderful job, great crew and I highly recommend!!!
Description of Work: Cut down 5 tall fir trees approx 80 feet tall or so. Cut wood into fireplace sized rounds that could be split for firewood and left wood as agreed. All debris cleaned up and hauled away including some debris from the previous ice storm that I hadn't been able to clear away myself.

Description of Work: After an ice and snow storm we had several damaged trees with broken branches far to high for us to reach. They came out and gave us an estimate which was very reasonable. I was expecting it to be much higher since all the services in town were busy trying to clean up the mess. They did exactly what I ask of them and even cleaned up some debris which wasn't part of the estimate.

 + -1 moreHe was a very nice person and he had a very good crew. They came when they said they were going to come; actually, they came a little ahead of time. They were very efficient and polite. They cleaned up everything; I wouldn’t have known the trees were there. They did a great job. The price was good. We had a bad storm and things were a mess. They responded quickly. I would definitely use them in the future, and I would recommend them to anybody who needed tree service.
Description of Work: I used Top Cut Tree Service Inc. to take down three trees for me. They cut the trees all the way to the ground.

 + -1 moreEd and crew showed up a 9 am and got right to work. They took down the live, taller tree first, then the dead one. I was impressed with their speed & efficientcy. The cleanup was a lot better than I expected. I am very pleased with Top Cut, and will definately use them in the future, and would recommend them to anyone. Ed is very straitforward and honest.

 + -1 moreTop Cut was hired by our neighbor to remove several trees. We asked the owner, Ed Ford, if he could also remove our two tall trees the same day. He agreed to do the work that day, gave us an estimate, and stayed very late to complete the work (long after his crew went home). He did a very good job of cleaning up the site afterwards and an excellent job of stump and root removal. No other plants were stepped on or damages (however, the exhaust from the saw did burn adjacent azaleas, but this was unavoidable). Overall, we were very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: Had two very tall and old arborvitae trees removed from front of house. Work included removal of tree and stumps and roots (as much as possible), plus clean up.

 + -1 moreI felt they did a good job. They arrived when they said they would. They cleaned up very well. They ground down the stump so you could even tell the tree was ever there. They took out a couple of small shrub like trees as well. I would definitely hire them again.

 + -1 moreVery pleased. Ed called back the same day to set up time for an estimate. He took the time to understand what we did and didn't want cut. Suggested that rather than use him to also trim some large Photinias that we would be able to have this done more cheaply by a landscape service. His estimate was right where I expected it to be. When I left a message later that we would like him to do the work, he called back within 2 hours to set the appointment. He showed up when promised with two assistants. Branches were trimmed with nothing hitting the roof. We asked If he'd take a few branches off another tree and he did at no extra charge. My wife told them she would finish raking up the next day, but was told that was part of there job. He was friendly, helpful. It was a positive experience throughout.

 + -1 moreEd was polite, and professional. He worked with 1 assistant who primarily did the hauling of branches, and wood while Ed did all of the actual cutting. He provided a free estimate, and was right on time, but was an hour late for the actual appointment, and failed to call, and let me know. Please note that he usually doesn't answer the phone during business hours, and returns calls in the evening. We had a few rounds of phone tag before we actually got a chance to chat when I was trying to make the appointment.
Description of Work: Removed 1 bent tree in my backyard, hauled away all wood, and complete stump grinding.
