Jamie was great! I was a little concerned about calling someone from fairly far away, but because he had a good rating I called anyway. Jamie called me right back and was able to come 2 days later. I had an overflowing outside outlet pipe and had no idea what the problem was. Jamie came out, took a look and told me that my pipe was blocked with grease (!!) and also that the pipe itself was cracked. He pumped the tank, cleaned out the pipe as was just generally terrific - even giving me a mini lesson in septic tanks! he came back a few days later to fix the broken pipe for me.

Jamie Long is the Owner and Operator of Jamie's Septic Service. He started working with his Dad (Gary's Septic Tank Service) when he was 18. He started his own business in 2002. I bought this house 12 years ago. It had a septic system but I didn't know anything about what I should do to maintain it. I waited too long to get it pumped out but fortunately nothing was acting abnormal and it appears the drain field has not suffered damage. What a relief. Jamie measured everything and explained that I had 2 feet of sludge (rather than 10 inches) in the first section of the tank, 6 inches (rather than 2 inches) in the second section of the tank (beyond the baffles) and 2 inches (rather than zero to 0.5 inches) in the pump tank. He pumped all three sections out, tested the pump alarm, and demonstrated how I should clean/rinse off the filter on the pipe leaving for the pump tank every year. Jamie charges 37.5 cents a gallon and I had a lot of gallons pumped. That explains the $550 price tag. Jamie explained how the pump stays cool. It is immersed in the water in the pump tank and the cold water keeps the engine housing cool (so long as the engine housing is not insulated by sludge from the cold water). Jamie rinsed off my pump housing with a garden hose and everything looked good. He then had me run a garden hose into the pump tank long enough to refill the pump tank. This keeps the pump impeller from rusting and enables me to exercise the pump every 3 or 4 days by running the garden hose for 5 to 10 minutes. I actually stand out there and listen for the pump to start running, give it a minute, and then turn off the garden hose. Since my main tank is 1000 gallons and there are only 2 of us, it could take weeks for the main tank to fill up enough to push water into the pump tank. Meanwhile, I don't want the pump to die for lack of exercise. Jamie also explained that the water intake is underneath the pump. When I saw the 2 inches of sludge in the bottom of the pump tank, I knew that I was flurting with disaster because some of that sludge was being pumped into the drain field. I am happy that I finally got these tanks pumped. As you can see, Jamie explained how everything worked and how everything was working. I now know how my septic system works and I now know what to do to keep it happy. For my situation, Jamie recommended a pump-out every 5 years. That sounds like it will be about right to keep the sludge from getting to the pump tank. Jamie is knowledgable and friendly. He does good work. Highly recommended.

Jamie is the owner and operator of Jamie's Septic Service and is hands down one of the best service providers/vendors I've worked with. Period. From start to finish, he has absolutely been a great resource for us as we a) learned all about septics, b) understood the things that are important with the system and c) worked through our decision process on next steps. The system in question has some issues and Jamie was very clear and thorough in explaining them to me, articulating what my options would be, and never made me feel like he was rushing to get off to another job or that my questions weren't reasonable and legitimate. After an extended phone consulation (on Labor Day, no less!) he then put me in contact with another septic colleague, followed up with me the next day to make sure we'd had contact, and when the colleague ended up not being available, jumped in his truck and drove at the last minute to the property to take a look himself. He spent a few hours carefully going over everything, demonstrated to me what the problems were, and was totally fair in the price that he charged me for his time. Whether I end up purchasing this house or not, if I EVER have a septic issue, Jamie will be at the top of my list. Additionally, my realtor and inspector were also incredibly impressed by his knowledge and professionalism and both are planning on recommending him in the future.

Perfectly. Not much to say, he showed up on time, gave me a great explanation of what he was going to do, and then did the job. Jamie knows a LOT about septic systems.

He arrived early. Went right to work. Answered all our extensive questions with knowledgeable answers. Completely dismantled the filter to make sure it was cleaned out well. Friendly and easy to work with.

Jamie showed up right on time and got to work locating my tank. He used divining rods or "witching sticks" as he called them to find the tank. It's crazy, but it worked! I watched him do it. With his first probe into the dirt he struck the lid. He worked hard and got it all done faster than I expected. He was friendly and informative, letting me know the condition of the tank, how often I should have it pumped, and a lot of other details about septic design, county permits, etc. I highly recommend Jamie.

Jamie came out and found the septic tank access hole (I'd dug up some of the yard but quit before I found it). He was on time, professional, nice guy. Cleaned out the tank, said it was in good shape, and gave me some advice about it's use in the future. I don't think he charged me for digging up the lid since most of it was already done.

Wonderful. I called on a Saturday, and he said he'd come out on Sunday, even though I wasn't expecting him until a weekday. This was much more convenient for us.

Jamie arrived 15 minutes early. He quickly located the septic tank cover and explained the process thoroughly, which I appreciated as this was the first time we have had the tank pumped in approximately six years. He showed me where the drain fields were and explained how the system worked. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He estimated the time to do the process correctly, even with all my questions! What was totally amazing to me, is after the pumping, you could not even tell he had been there - the grass, etc. was all back in place exactly as it looked before. I would highly recommend him and will use him again in the future.

Jamie came out during the time frame specified. He had a friendly and outgoing personality. I noticed his truck was new and very clean. Our tank is buried beneath our front lawn. I showed him approximately where, and with a metal pole he found the outline of it. He removed the sod, and used a tarp to place the soil on, to keep the lawn clean. When he was finished the yard looked very tidy and clean. He measured from some landscape boulders to where the tank is buried and drew a map with measurements on the back of our invoice for future use. His is the third company I've used since living here, the other two were mediocre, compared to Jamie's Septic Service company. In three years, I will call him again. He also gave me a 10% discount card for the next service call, too. I liked his attitude and his work standards, it is his business and he cares about it.

PERSONABLE, KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT SEPTIC TANKS.

JAMIE WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND HE CAME WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. HE PUT THE YARD BACK THE WAY HE FOUND IT AS BEST AS HE COULD. THE PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE TO OTHER SEPTIC SERVICE COMPANIES.

HE DID A GREAT JOB. HE REPLACED OUR PUMP WITH ANOTHER RELIABLE PUMP(GOULD)AND PUMPED THE TANK. OUR PUMP ALARM WENT OFF IN THE EVENING, SO I CALLED HIM AT 7:00 IN THE MORNING. HE HAD EVERYTHING TAKEN CARE OF BY THE AFTERNOON. HE WAS VERY RELIABLE.
