Jamie's Septic Service

Excellent. Jamie answered the phone right away, got an appointment scheduled right away, he showed up on time, did a great job, helped us to save a few bucks by allowing us to dig to the lid of the tank, and taught us a lot while doing his job. Hopefully my septic field will last for many more years and we'll see Jamie again.

On the day of service, Jamie arrived on time and kindly explained what may be needed. We did not know exactly where our septic was located, but with the help of our as-built, he found it right away without costly searching devices. Within a few hours our septic tank was located, holes were dug and the septic tank was pumped. Jamie offered the option to install risers, providing us with the cost, benefits, and drawbacks and gave us time to decide. Because we would have to have someone dig 3-4 feet down every time our septic system needed servicing, we decided to have risers installed. Jamie scheduled an appointment and installed them the next week. Overall, he provided prompt, friendly, knowlegeable and professional service. He gave us a quote of his services and stuck to it. He also honored his Angie's List member discount. I would definitely recommend Jamie's Septic Service to others.

I found Jamie on Angie's List and contacted him to pump two tanks. My neighbor's and mine. He gave me a $20 discount for Angie's List and another 10% for multiple houses. He was on-time, professional and knowledgeable. He noticed that there appeared to be a problem with the D-box and/or the drainfield. He stated that he could dig out the D-box and possibly resolve the problem. But if it was the drainfield, then his work would be for naught (and money wasted) so he recommended another company that specializes in drainfields. After calling around and circling back with this company, I had them come out and check things out. They confirmed that the drainfield was shot (including the d-box) and needed replacing (originally 1964). We are currently in the process of getting all the permits, etc. done so that we can get the work started and completed. I will be writing a report on Sunset Septic Company as they are doing the job and I am very impressed with them so far.. As for Jamie, it was refreshing to have an honest dialogue with him. I would definitely use him again.

Based on the number of good reports on Angie's List, I called Jamie's Septic to come and do a routine pumping of our septic tanks. I checked his website and his price was clearly stated plus he offered a $20.00 discount to Angie's list members. He arrived on time and we chatted about septic problems in general, locating etc. He pumped the tanks without incident and reported that they were in good shape. Then he did a test to determine if our drainfield was clear. Of course it isn't since our house is almost 20 years old and the drain field is located in the woods and has become overgrown with blackberry. He recommended a company that does that kind of work. We will look into it. Jamie is a very nice person and seems to know a great deal about septic systems. I trust that he could deal with any sort of septic problem or routine maintenance.

Previously, I used another company because of a mailer coupon and was satisfied. This time I used Angie's List and selected a company that had a lot of great reviews. They arrived right on time, were professional, friendly, and informative. On the way out, Jamie's assistant noticed the bottom of a down spout that was not connected. It had been propped up with rocks for a couple of years because I couldn't get it back on :). Well, he fixed it in a minute. You can bet I'll call these guys for the next scheduled service.

Contacted Jamie on 5 July for quote and date of service. Jamie arrived as promised on time on 19 July. I told him I would have the tank uncovered so he could just remove the cover and pump it out. He also informed me that due to the age of our home, we were not required to have a riser as required by newer homes . I told him a riser would be nice since it would save me the trouble of digging it up every three years. He gave a price of 250.00 for a 12" riser and would install it on 28 July. Jamie arrived on time as he said he would and installed the riser and backfilled the tank and riser. So with the pump out cost of 325.00 and the 250.00 riser cost he gave me the 10% Angies list discount of 57.50. Also let me know everything looked ok, no problems with the septic system. Very professional business man. Will be using his services again.

Originally Gary came out found out his truck would not lift our load, called Jamie who was out within a couple of hours, A job welldone by Gary and Jamie.

Everything went just as planned. Jamie was there on time, and had a smile on his face. He answered all our questions, and was a very nice guy.

I am 74 years old and my accomplished do-it-yourself sister and I thought that businessmen like Jamie Long of Jamie?s Septic Service were no longer part of the business community. Were we mistaken! I initially located Jamie when I was looking for a service to pump out a holding tank on an RV I use as a guest house. He pointed me in the right direction to the only company in my area that provides this service and recommended them. Fortunately, I filed his name where I could find it when I needed his services. It was obvious that my circa-1983 septic system was a breath away from total backup. A telephone discussion with Jamie helped my sister and niece locate the covers for the two access lids. In the process, we uncovered the intake pipe (broken) and identified an additional problem. He scheduled us for pump out service the next day. Jamie arrived on time and pumped the very full tank. He discussed the other problems with us and potential solutions. During the discussion, it was apparent that some additional dirt needed to be moved; he grabbed a shovel from his truck and opened the ditch. He recommended two plumbers if we were not able to fix the problem ourselves. Later, we called him for additional advice and he stopped by that afternoon for a consultation that included cutting a piece of extra pipe he had on his truck. And, he shared some additional suggestions for fixing the problems. We offered to pay him for his additional work and expertise, but he refused. Over the weekend, we bought additional materials and got everything installed except for a final placement that we two old ladies couldn?t quite accomplish. We took him up on his generous standing offer to call if we still ran into problems, and?sure enough?on a busy Monday, he worked in yet another quick stopover and in 10 minutes, had everything properly in place! And, he?s a natural storyteller. If you have the opportunity, ask him to describe the design and workings of a septic system! You?ll be rewarded with a clear and comprehensive explanation, laced with some gentle humor. Very special thanks, Jamie, for proving how wise I was to join Angie?s List. You are a treasure!

Jamie was on time, gave excellent suggestions to minimize future problems and costs. Also spent the time to explain how systems works which was appreciated.

Jamie explained eveything that needed to be done in detail and the end cost matched his estimate. He also advised us what needed to be done to keep out septic system in good working order and took the time to explain how the leach field works and what we needed to be aware of during landscaping. Great job!

Jamie did a good job. Made suggestions to keep septic in good shape. He did not recommend using septic additives or chemicals in system. Causes problems overall with drainfield. Makes sense. He was puctual, professional and effecient. I didn't have any problems or issues going on which was good on our part. I was very happy with his service and recommend him to anyone. Will use him again for sure.

Having had a couple of not so good experiences with other septic cleaning companies in the past, I was VERY pleased to find Jamie. Very nice guy and he did the job well and also offered good advice on maintaining the tank in the best way. Highly recommend this company!

I originally called Jamie for a routine septic tank pump out. Jamie answered the phone himself, gave me a reasonable rate for the pumping and we scheduled the job. Jamie showed up right as scheduled and when he opened up the tank he could tell I had a leak in one compartment. Jamie took the time to explain the problem, he knew exactly what size, brand, and type of tank I had. He also knew that the problem was common to this brand of tank and how to repair it. He covered the tank back up since the repair would need to be done the following week so he could bring the proper materials. We also discussed installing risers so future pump-outs would be much easier (my tank is buried deeper than most). Jaime came back a few days later with everything needed to complete the job. Before sealing/covering up the tank Jaime showed me the repair and the new risers. Both Jaime and his assistant were very professional, friendly, and helpful. I would recommend his service to anyone, he is a true professional.

During a routine tank cleaning Jamie found that we had issues with our leach field. He also suggested we replace the inlet pipe. He spent a good 45 minutes explaining systems to me, drawing me a diagram of parts, etc... and probably another hour or two on the phone over the next week as we decided what to do. He wasn't trying to sell us any work as it wasn't something he would be able to tackle, but instead was giving us tons and tons of free tech support. In the end he even got us the parts cheaper than buying them retail by purchasing them via phone and having us mail him payment. I can't remember the last time any contractor went so far above and beyond, especially for a customer he's only made $410 off! We will never use anyone else again for any septic pumpings or maintenance.

He knows where the tank cover is, so do not need to dig a lot of holes in my back yard. He digged out sod first, and put it aside. After he finished everything, he then put them back. He exam the depth of my septic tank, and told me how frequent I should do pumping again. He answered my questions about how to maintain a septic tank. and what should not go into the septic tank. He spent about 2 hour working on my back yard, including digging and pumping. He is not the cheapest contract (i quoted a few cheaper prices), but he surely know what he is doing. I am glad that I invited him to do the job. Overall, he did a great job.

When I first called Jamie, he asked a lot of questions and I realized that I didn't even know we had a pump tank. When he came out to pump the tanks, I asked a couple questions about future remodeling and he was quick to share his knowledge about what would be required and even gave me the name of someone who can design an additional drain field. He explained what he found in our tanks, noted that the original pump was ancient, explained matter of factly what happens when the pump fails but did not pressure us at all to replace the pump. However, we chose to do that and he came back the following week. He replaced the pump and float and corroded metal pipe that shouldn't have been used in the first place. He was thorough, detail oriented and great about educating us. And even though pumping septic tanks is recommended every 3 yrs or so, it had been 5 yrs since our last pumping and Jamie said ours looked so good we could probably wait another 5 yrs again.

Jamie was very helpful about informing us about our septic tank system. We had many questions and possible concerns. He was very helpful in addressing and explaining everything.

I joined Angie's List to find a reliable septic service company, because I did not have a very good experience with the company that last pumped our tanks, and the outlet filter that was recommended and installed by that company is constantly backing up and needing to be cleaned (every 1-2 months!) I found Jamie's Septic Service on the list, with excellent reviews, and decided to call. It was about 6:30 PM and Jamie answered immediately! He was INCREDIBLY helpful and professional. It seemed to me that he is the kind of person that likes to help people, and who enjoys what he does for a living. He talked with me for about 30 mins, giving me all kinds of excellent suggestions and advice about my filter and my septic system. He looked up where I could by locally a specific filter that he recommends (and for which he knows the technical specs!), and never even hinted trying to sell it to me or to charge me for replacing it (which is the first thing the other company did when I called them about the same issue the other day! -- for the 2nd time, by the way, they never called me back the first time). I am very glad that I have found Jamie because the septic system has been a constant worry for me from the day we bought the house, mostly because it's all new to us and we had not been able to find someone we could trust. Not anymore! I am definitely sleeping better knowing that, if anything happens, I can call Jamie and get his honest opinion, and I am confident that also excellent service. I am definitely calling him the next time we need to pump our system, and will be recommending him to neighbors and friends.

I called Jamie because his reviews on Angie's list were all stellar, and I wasn't disappointed. I contacted him in the middle of a bad cold snap with the ground frozen solid because our septic tank alarm had been going on and off for weeks and finally just stayed on. We're relatively new (1.5 years) first time homeowners, and new to septic systems. Naturally, I was very worried (freaked out, actually, expecting to see sewage backing up into the house any minute). Jamie took the time on the telephone to try to figure out what could be wrong and tell me what to watch for, and since he was not available to come out right away, he suggested two other reputable septic service companies I could call in case we did start to see evidence of sewage backing up. Anyone who cares so much about a potential customer that they're willing to send them to the competition to help them out gets major brownie points in my book. On the day of the appointment Jamie arrived right on time. He was engaging and friendly and went right to work. We did not have an As-Built of our septic system, so he had to look for it, and found it right away. He set up a tarp, and carefully dug up sod to minimize damage to our lawn. He dug 3 holes to get to the 3 covers (pump, main & secondary), fixed the sensor which has caused our alarm to go off and the pump to shut down, restarted the pump, observed it for a while to make sure we were draining properly, pumped the tank, refilled the holes, replaced and patted down the sod, cleaned up and we were good to go. And at the end he charged me a great price for excellent work. All along he took the time to explain what he was doing and at the end he even took the time to draw us a plan/map so that next time we would know where the tank was located. I know I won't be needing the map, because my business is going to Jamie for as long as we own the house and I will be recommending his services to all of our friends and neighbors.

I left Jamie a message at 10pm, and he called me back in 9 minutes! He arrived as promised the next morning, after letting me know that he was running late due to a delay at the transfer station. He quickly pumped out our septic pump chamber and confirmed that the pump had failed. He recommended another company to replace the pump and even scheduled them for me. Overall a great experience and I'll use Jamie again.
