Kressi, in the Seattle showroom, is an absolute delight. My entire experience begins and ends with the marvelous Kressi. She was the first person I met at Granite and Marble Specialities and she colored my entire experience. She is nothing short of spectacular!I I first met her in the showroom where we discussed my plans for a kitchen remodel. She came to my home, measured and within 1-2 days provided a beautiful plan. She has an eye for design and excellent taste so was the perfect guide throughout my remodeling adventure. She coordinated everything from the initial measurement, ordering the cabinets, and delivery (and installation if desired). She assisted with with countertop choice, sent Octavio out for countertop measurement, followed by installation. I purchased my under mount sink through her as well. The guys that installed did a great job. Very meticulous when cutting out the holes (I had 5) behind my sink. The installer made a point of coming to get me to make sure the holes were cut to my specifications (straight across, curved up or down?). Beautiful job. I was so pleased with the entire kitchen remodel and experience that I had the same quartz countertops installed in the master bath including an under mount sink and an under mount tub. Kressi also assisted with tile choices and then sent out the fabulous Shaughnn for the installation job. Shaughnn is an artisan. He installed my mudroom floor tiles, backsplashes in kitchen and both floor and combo shower/bath wall tiles. My original tile selection for the bathroom walls didn't have a nice finish at the ends or a coordinating trim to go around my windows and shower niche so Shaughnn found a tile that was almost the exact same as my original choice (but one I actually liked better) that had the needed edge. He also assisted with grout choices. Shaughnn is the kind of person that I would comfortably give a key to my home and have him come and go at will. Beginning to end, my experience with Granite and Marble Specialties couldn't have gone better -- and I owe that experience entirely to Kressi who keeps the trains running on time. She's not only efficient and professional but a pleasure to work with on a project. Thanks to her for all that she did to make my experience top notch!

Our issue is with the sales person, Connie. Her customer service is terrible, boarding on criminal. We had the option of purchasing the granite from them & being charged by the square foot used or purchasing a slat from a company they recommended. The remnant would be ours. They would hold it for 3 months to provide us time to either use it for another project or find a buyer. After 3 months, if the remnant was still there, they would take ownership. This seemed very reasonable arrangement. Since they did not have the granite we wanted in stock, we purchased the slat. Added plus, it was cheaper than an alternative granite they had in stock & only paying for the sq ft used. We paid the 50% down required with the only open issue being the choice of sink. The following weekend, working with a different sales person, we picked our sink which was a reduction in the bill. We had estimated double the money for the cost of the sink. The day before the the templet person was coming, Connie calls to say I have to pick a sink. I explained we had picked a sink over a week ago & a revised bill was printed & given to us. She should have a copy. She apologized & hung up. The next morning I get a voice message that she failed to charge me extra for being out of area & was adding a double charge, for template & installation trips, to me bill. Prior to speaking to me, she sent a revised bill, via e-mail, with a $200 increase for 1 trip. This charge was removed after reminding her I specifically has asked her were we within her normal service area (as shown on Angie.s list) & she said yes. A week prior to installation, she asked did I want to be involved with laying out the pattern for the slab, to capture a special aspect of the granite. I said no & again made mention that I had plans for the remnant. The day prior to installation, Connie called and said that the remnant would be delivered with the installers. I was very surprised & reminded her of my prior conversation about them holding it & that I had a friend who was interested. Her response was, "You do realized that the granite is 25 pounds a sq ft." As with the template, the workers were very nice & did a wonderful job. On Monday, 3/7 I received a call from Connie. I expressed my happiness with the granite & installation. When I asked her how much granite remained, she said "None, you purchased by the sq ft.". I reminded her that we had purchased the slab. She said she would get back to me & hung up. On Wednesday, 3/9 she called back with an explanation that made no sense! She was touting that they only had to use one slab to complete the kitchen & didn't have to use the second! What second? She started saying something about that they must have sent 2 slabs. Of course I asked was I charged for 2, she said no & the bill shows one. Again, this does not address the question on the remaining granite. She claims that due to the "special" angles of my countertops, there was a lot of waste. My countertop has 3 pieces, the larges has a 90 degree dog leg & the others are rectangles. Add the 4" back splash & 3 window sills, their total sq ft used was less than 50. The total sq ft of the slat was over 70 sq ft. So, almost 1/3 of the granite was scrap? And if there was no remnent, what was the March 4th conversation about? This issue is still pending. My husband will be contacting the company to discuss. Even if this comes to some resolutions, it does not change the total lack of professional behavior by Connie.

We purchased 66 ft of exotic looking Alpine White Granite. It was a unique piece and we received many compliments. The installation did not go well to put it mildly. The templater only would cut to what was "standard". I wanted one edge to stick out more than standard he didn't do it. There were language barriers, he barely spoke English and called me by my name in Spanish. I'm not Hispanic, so it's not like he would assume I knew Spanish.. Sink coutout was cut crooked, holes were crooked. They broke the tipout in front of the sink and didn't put enough glue on the desktop and the plywood base and it came undone. Installers walked in an open door and did not say a word to me. They did talk to the Kitchen Installer. I thought it was rude and they did not check to see if the holes for the faucet were the correct size before cutting. The kitchen cabinet installer fixed the desktop and the tipout which is NOT his job. I complained about the sink cutout and they sent Kurt over to take a look. His resolution was not to my satisfaction all his solution involved ripping the granite off the cabinets. Which given the intiial install would result in damage to the cabinets. I asked for a the cost of the sink cutout as compensation but he would refund less than half of the amount. If you have anything that is not standard you will have your countertop cut wrong with this company. Beautiful material, horrible installation.
Description of Work: Install granite countertop, desk, and sink cutout. The layout was beautiful and flowed across the sink, backsplash and breakfast bar in one continuous pattern. The sink cutout template and countertop was cut wrong., hole in the desk for cords was cut crooked. They broke the sink tipout, the desk granite was not properly glued to the base.

We had a great experience. Glenn Davis took a lot of time to review in-stock quartz slab options with us for the kitchen and wet bar, and even more time finding the perfect remnant for two of our bathroom countertops. There were a lot of gorgeous stone options to choose from. Sink options were somewhat limited but very satisfactory and well-priced. Everything went by the numbers. Selection/purchase through installation took no more than two weeks. The process included a guy who spent a couple of hours making stone-cutting templates from the existing countertops, which was great because our contemporary home includes some unusual angles -- and the results were perfect. The installers cut sink and fixture holes on site. We appreciated that they called our attention to a few detail issues that we hadn't considered and educated us so we could make informed decisions. Installation took the better part of a day, and they cleaned up after themselves when all was finished. We have another renovation project in our not-too-distant future, and we look forward to working with Granite and Marble Specialties again.

We met with Connie who helped us pick out a beautiful quartz countertop. They came out and did a wonderful job installing the countertop with a barely visible seam that they lined up with our sink so you can't even see it. However, our kitchen sink (farmhouse drop in) didn't fit exactly. They came out within a week at no additional charge and fixed it perfectly, better than if it would have been perfect the first time. Will probably be keeping this countertop forever, but if we needed a new one, I would definitely go through them again.

Everyone I dealt with at Granite and Marble Specialties in both the Kent and Seattle locations were very helpful and professional. They were very responsive to all my questions and were great with scheduling. The fabricators did a great job and the installation was done by 2 polite, hardworking men. They returned immediately to smooth out a small seam that I noticed was rough soon after they left my home. The slab looks beautiful and I'm very happy with my selection and the careful way it was fabricated to keep the pattern going in the right direction.

They have a large selection with very knowledgeable staff who walked us through the different products and recommendations for what we should be looking for. We decided to go with this company since our contractor recommended them and their pricing seemed comparable to other vendors, however they had more of a selection. The ordering process was very simple and they were able to schedule the template measurement and eventual installation within a few weeks, which was much appreciated since we were without countertops until then. There was a minor hiccup with how we wanted our island countertop cut that our contractor thankfully caught and instructed them to re-cut again, which they did promptly. All in all, we were pleased with the service.

Description of Work: measure old counter tops one week, the next week came back and installed the counter tops - we opted for a window sill out of the same quartz material - the fit was perfect - the timing was perfect - no surprises -the glass tiling was done well and the clean-up was ok - I've found glass tiles in my front courtyard - but that was basically it. Otherwise, the pricing was good and they were good on everything else.

They have many samples of granite, marble and quartz. We chose quartz. After we chose what we wanted, they came out and measured our kitchen counters and made a pattern. A couple of weeks later the installers came and installed the new countertops. Everyone at the shop was very helpful and took time with us. We went there three times before we finally made a decision because we wanted to look at other stores. We think we got the best deal through Granite and Marble Specialties.

Great experience working with Kurt and team at Granite & Marble Specialties. They helped us select a beautiful granite for our kitchen countertops and worked with us though the templating, fabrication and final installation. They were prompt, responsive, punctual and professional. There were some unexpected challenges during the actual install but they worked around them patiently and stayed really late to finish the project on the same day. Would highly recommend!

From start to finish, this was a pleasant experience working with Granite & Marble Specialties and all their employees. It was a leap for us to purchase the deal with no prior contact with provider. After purchase, Ed, the owner, got back to us within hours (it would probably have been less, but I was up and ordered very early.) He was very pleasant asking pertinent questions: approximate size, type of sink and did we want them to remove the old counters. The deal as presented stated that the cost for cutting the sink hole for the under mount sink and removing/disposing of old counter tops would be an additional $100.00 each. We opted to have both items added to our deal. Sales tax was added to the entire order. No surprises. Steve, our liaison for scheduling called shortly after Ed provided a written invoice for our approval, and we were set up for not only templates, but installation. He called to remind us the day before each event. Very pleasant! We actually drove to the show room in Kent to pick our granite slab. Many choices were available. Ed showed us around and let us take all the time we needed for making our decision.. I would recommend this as each slab can be different. Octovio the company's template maker arrived at the appointed time on April 1st. Within an hour, he had built a template of each countertop. With wood strips and a glue gun. It was fascinating to watch, as we have had granite installed several times before, never had we seen it done in this way. He left with his templates and our under mount sink. Installation was scheduled for April 8th. Installers Jeremey and Temo arrived on the 8th, and started removing the countertops in a small kitchen space. The previous owner had purchased the appliances so they had to work around them. The exciting moment, in came the granite slabs, and Octovio had really made the templates to fit....amazing fit. They mounted the sink, cleaned the granite, drilled the single sink hole I had requested (part of the deal) and sealed it. They were off to another job. Left our kitchen clean. Both men exercised great care to not damage appliances or cupboards. Job well done!! Thank you.
Description of Work: Removed and disposed of old counter tops from 1969, installed new granite, mounted under mount sink, and drilled on site the correct sized hole for our new faucet. They cleaned the granite and sealed it as stated. They did no plumbing.

NOTE: The $3,599 coupon price doesn't include tax or the $150 demo charge. Comes out to be closer to $4100. Still a good price for 70 sq ft of granite. Ordering and installing was easy. Turn ed it around in 2 weeks. Looks great. Pro Tip: Remove all your dishes from your cupboards. I wish they would have told us to do that. They got granite "dust" everywhere. For $150 worth for demo, you would think they could bring a shop vac to vacuum up the mess that make. Would easily use these folks again, though. No hard feelings. Great deal, great price, good product.

My wife and I had spent a few months researching different companies to replace our existing laminate countertops and almost gave up. The kitchen companies were not too interested in us because we simply wanted a countertop replaced and not the entire kitchen. Most of them were also booked several months out. We contacted a number of different stone places, but most were indifferent or their prices were too high. Upon reading a number of favorable reviews online, we decided to get an estimate from Granite and Marble Specialties in Kent. I e-mailed my measurements to GAMS one evening and I couldn't believe it when I had a proposal from Millie the following morning. Best of all, the price was very competitive with some others that we had received. Plus, they were able schedule our job when we needed to have it done. Kressi was our sales representative and she was a joy to work with. She showed us samples of the countertops that they had in stock and also helped us to coordinate our backsplash. Jeremy built the template and performed the installation. Even though he had to take out our existing countertops, he was very careful not to damage any of the cabinets, etc., while he was doing it. When the job was completed, we were very happy with the results as our kitchen looked "like new." In talking with each member of the staff, I got the feeling that each one was very proud of the work that they did and it showed in the final result. It would be a mistake not to check these guys out if you are looking to put in a new countertop.

After contacting them, Steve was able to stop by our house in a couple of days. Steve is an extremely nice man and was able to give us ideas regarding the design of the kitchen countertops, sink, and backsplash. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions regarding quartz, edge cuts, sinks, maintenance, etc. We worked with Connie and their owner who gave us a great price for the quartz and sink we wanted. We also worked with Octavio who was very efficient and professional in getting the exact template measurements. Octavio's measurements were dead on as the large pieces of the countertop fit perfectly during installation. On installation day, we got to work with Vincent and Adrian. Vincent and Adrian went above and beyond their normal duties to make sure the job was done professionally. They showed up early, rolled out rugs so that they didn't dirty your house, and worked extremely hard to make sure you were satisfied. Total turn around time for our project from contacting them to getting everything installed was 2 weeks. All that along with a great price, I can't ask for anything better. This is a great team to work with!

That service turned out fine. They only did the service for the granite around the sink. He has some acetone and a razor. Then he put a sealer on it. We were very pleased when we talked to them. We got the granite and we also used the granite countertops for the kitchen and the bathroom downstairs. We also got two new sinks from them. And we were very pleased. They came out, they put together a template of the whole area and then they came out and installed it. We were very pleased with them. We will definitely use them again. The quality of their work made it such a good experience for us and how it looked after it was installed. We were very very particular on how things will look and we were very pleased with the way it came out and the overall quality of the installation. Their price was really good.
