Glass Doctor of Seattle & Tacoma

We have house built in the late 80s with Weathervane windows. The glass in one of the windows broke and I wanted to replace the glass, not the whole window. Turns out only a few companies are able to repair Weathervane windows in any condition including other highly rated glass companies. Glass Doctor came out promptly and gave a very reasonable price. They custom made new double pane glass with the white metal boxes between the panes and it exactly matches the other windows. They cut out a portion of the wood frame and inserted the new glass. Other than super nice clear glass next to some older glass you can't tell a difference and the wood they restored in place looks great. Very impressed with the service and quality of their work.

They missed the first appointment due to mechanical failure of their vehicle. After that they arrived on time a couple of days later. Brandon gave me the estimate to have one window that is 17x17 inches duel pane tempered glass. The estimate was $329.47. After receiving such a high estimate I called three other glass shops on Angie's list and got estimates that ranged between $175 and $200.

They got it done quickly without any issues. It hasn't broken again.

The Glass Doctor is apparently the only contractor in the area who gets the repair done in a few days. Others "send it out" and it takes around two weeks. The assessor came the day after I called. He was prompt and extremely helpful. He removed most of the broken glass immediately. I know from other contacts that their prices are reasonable (the $500 includes tax and and "surcharge"). The job was done well and on time. I just noticed that they have a senior discount that I didn't ask for at the time, but I will contact them about it.

They scheduled the estimate guy for the next day. He showed up promptly and was very competent and sympathetic. He removed most of the broken glass. The replacement guy came on time a few days later. The new window looks great. He vacuumed up the remaining glass inside, and did his best to get the remainder of the small pieces outside. Their charge was a bit less than another quote I got from a highly rated contractor. Glass Doctor is the only one in this area who can do the job fairly quickly. Everybody else has to "send it out," which takes an additional week or so.

I had to wait a bit longer than expected for install date, but everything was done in one day. Both installers were courteous and professional. The windows look great. Have not had them long enough to see if I see a change in the temp. comfort of the room. They took great care in keeping the work area clean and did a good clean-up after the job was done. I would use them again.

Service tech was prompt and professional. Windows were installed without any issues. Had 3 other quotes... Glass Doctor was one of the least expensive, but they also were extremely polite and open about process. Highly recommend.

I learned a lot about tempered glass! The original builder installed a shower door that was a bit too large. I was unaware that when the edge of the door contacted the glass opening panel, that there was a real danger of breakage. They fabricated a correct fitting door with stronger hinges and were able to reuse my handle. They really extended themselves to do a professional job. They were timely, easy to work with and courteous.

We have a small MIL cottage on our property that sustained some major water and mold damage. The floors, walls and shower were done by another person who was not able to complete the work when the shower enclosure arrived from Holcam (a custom glass enclosure company). So we set out looking for another installer willing to install the enclosure that was not made by their own company. After 5 "free home estimates" we chose the Glass Doctor's because they were ale to schedule us within a few days and the underbid their competitors by hundreds of dollars in labor cost alone. Plus, the Glass Doctor's were willing to install it (the Holcam surround) without forcing us to buy something from their own company. However, they were quite clear that they could not warranty for leakage because the previous work done was not square/plumb. (Which is what every other installer and contractor told us too since we were unable to afford to have the previous work ripped out and redone at this point. The day of installation, the technician Tim was certain that he could get it installed and make adjustments as necessary to keep it water tight. Unfortunately as the installation progressed it became obvious that Holcam had a quality control issue and the enclosure was much taller than the measurements given to them (the actual measurements of our shower/basin. Tim got creative and figured out a way to safely install the enclosure despite the sizing error. (Holcom's customer service sucks and would not repair their mistake which had nothing to do with the Glass Doctors). Anyways, Tim worked FAST, cleanly and quietly and we were VERY appreciative of his dedication, ingenuity and professionalism. We were also able to use a Angie's List coupon to save ourselves some money which was vital considering how much time and money had already been sunk into the overall progject. Next time we need a glass enclosure we are just going to hire The Glass Doctor's start to finish!

They were on time and very professional. They came first to measure and give me an estimate. Then when the order of the door was in they came and put it in. They cleaned after themselves and even fixed my lock so the sliding door works better. I would recommend them again and again..

Glass Doctor first came out and did a bid and we paid 1/2 down. They then had to schedule a appointment for later which was about a week and 1/2 later. I was very happy with the quote and very satisfied with the actual work. The cleaned up all the broken glass and installed the new panel in very quick time. They showed up on time and they were no hidden fees. Would use them again if needed.

Came out immediately for a quote. Were very accommodating with my schedule and were able to complete the repair quickly once the parts came in from the door. I will definitely use them again if I need any work like this performed again.

They were on time, but brought the wrong window with them. They had to go back to get the correct window. The window repair was great, but they left 75% of the shattered glass all over the inside of the car?! I assumed this was because the service ended up being so long (with the incorrect part needing to be swapped out) but that isn't my fault. So, good window, glad they could come to our house, came the day after called... but brought the wrong part and then left glass everywhere.

They came out to do a free estimate and they quoted me a reasonable price. They came back promptly and installed as soon as the pane was available. They did a great job matching the tint of the windows. I will absolutely use them again in the future if I need to.

Everything went fine. The windows were replace shortly after I called them and at a good price compared to what I have paid in the past.

The person who gave us the bid was great--adjusted to sliding glass door so it opened more easily. The installer also did a great job, but I noticed steaks on the inside of one of the double panes--inaccessible. He immediately said "That's a warranty claim," and took the information necessary to replace it--no quibbles. The second installer also did a great job, and we now have a clear window again.

They took good measurements, ordered the parts and came back to install them as promised. The installation went great. When I started taking showers, I noticed there was a leak at the base of the side panel, causing water to slip through to the bath tub. I called the Glass Doctor, and they were very responsive. They sent a technician the next day to seal the crack. The problem is now completely solved. All in all, I saw great customer service and professionalism from this provider, so I'd definitely use them again for my glass needs.

Replaced a glass on glass vertical and angled ceiling window. The first person they sent out to estimate the job was unable to articulate what needed to be done. That cost us a weekend with a tarp covered window that was leaking water when it rained. The second person who came out and estimated the job was competent, and the broken glass was replaced two days later to our satisfaction.

I called 10-5-13 to report my window was broken due to me locking myself out and having to break the window to reenter my home, and that I was leaving town 10-6-13 for 6 days. They informed me nobody was available to come until 10-7-13. I informed them my housesitter was available 10-8-13...that my house had been broken into 12-6-12 and I didn't want strangers in my home without my housesitter there. He arrived 10-8-13, estimated the job, and left - told my friend it would be two days. I arrived home 10-11-13 to my home still open to the elements except for the garbage bag I put over the hole!!!! They didn't even board it up or ask my housesitter or call me to see if I wanted it boarded up. They were totally unprofessional on the phone, and the installer (finally arrived to install the window 10-21-13) left broken glass all over the floor and outside the residence. I will NEVER use them again!!

The first thing is that the tech, named rived on time. Once he arrived he took the time to explained what he was going to do and the amount of time it would take to complete the job and was spot on about the time it would take. He was very patient answering all questions that I and my wife asked and was a very pleasant man.

I broke our window next to the front door with a rock while edging the lawn. I called up Glass Doctor after calling numerous other window replacement services. They showed up within a couple of hours and then scheduled to have the glass replaced the following day. It was fast and easy and the window is as good as new.

Having a broken window is never fun, but Glass Doctor of Seattle made the repair quick and painless. I couldn't be happier with the service!

They came out and did a very good job. They were very reasonably priced. They were prompt and professional. I was very impressed with their service.

Wonderful job. So very quick! The gentleman made sure to put down tarps over my carpet and stairwell. Most of the work was actually performed from outside, so there was very little mess inside, and what there was, he cleaned up promptly. The new windows fit very well, and the installation was interesting to watch. After the windows were installed, he made sure to clean them thoroughly inside and out. And he was also very helpful and kind in that I saw what looked to me, at my angle of view, to be a piece of the stickum stuff that seals the windows in sitting up on the ledge of my stairwell window. He went and got his ladder back (as he'd put it up already), went up the ladder and showed me that it was in fact an inspection sticker that was curling up. And while he was up there, as he had heard me muttering to myself about cleaning the cobwebs I noticed there (for the first time as I really do not normally look up 20 feet to the top of my stairwell ceiling), he cleaned the cobwebs for me! What a nice guy! He politely answered my many questions about the glass and what he was doing. I would totally use them again and have already recommended them to two of my friends. p.s. just a general comment, my energy bill dropped by 25% after installing the new energy efficient windows. Those broken ones really were costing me money!
