Description of Work: They replaced 22 windows and installed the exterior trim that we provided. |Our new windows are beautiful! After careful shopping and much research, we feel confident we made the best choice. We have great looking windows without sacrificing quality or affordability. Description of Work: While the window installation was done well, the work crew was unprofessional and did not respect me or my home. I'm not sure if they were sexist (I'm a woman) or if there was a cultural misunderstanding but I felt that the crew was very arrogant in their dealings with me (until my husband arrived home). I would not use their services again, nor would I recommend them to any of my friends. It should also be noted that I send in a letter explaining my frustration to the customer service department at Champion and never received a response back.

RESPONSE FROM CHAMPION DIVISION MANAGER: The comments above state that while the installation was done well the crew was unprofessional, disrespectful and perhaps there was a "cultural misunderstanding". The review also states that she "never received a response back". I clearly recall speaking with this customer the day of install and attempted to address her concerns. I explained that since I was not present during the actual installation and therefore could not accurately assess whether there was unprofessional or disrespectful behavior, I told her with complete confidence that such behavior would be completely out of character for anyone associated with our company. Therefore, the "never received a response back" does not tell the full story. Again, I personally dealt with Ms. (member name removed)the day of her install. One of the things that we do here at Champion with every project is to make certain we reach out to our customer during the install to make certain everything is going according to plan and that they are happy. Ms. (member name removed)clearly indicated to the staff member who called her that she was NOT happy because of she felt the crew was not engaging her in enough conversation and that they were simply going about their business without adequate communication. As her comments above make clear, she obviously interpreted that as unprofessional, arrogant and sexist. Again, I IMMEDIATELY called her back and we had a lengthy discussion during which I tried to apologize for any misunderstanding and address any concerns she had. While she assured me there was nothing I could do and that the installation itself was going well, she did make it clear that she felt disrespected. All I can do at this point is to ask any prospective Champion customer to look at our entire rating history and individual reviews and then make a judgment as to the way in which the overwhelming majority of our customers feel about us.

Description of Work: Had a large number of replacement windows installed. On one window they measured wrong and it took three tries over two months to get it right. On another they walked away without installing sealing on edges and I had to call them back.

RESPONSE FROM CHAMPION DIVISION MANAGER: We have absolutely zero record of ever having done work for any customer with this name. He states we did "a large number of windows" for him for $1,400. That would also be impossible. The ONLY thing I can think is that either: [1] This gentleman has confused us with another company or [2] this is a deliberate attempt to post a negative review by someone who is trying to damage our reputation. Again: I can find absolutely no record of us ever having seen or done work by someone with this name.

Description of Work: The service that Champion Window did was good, but I thought the price was a little took expensive for what we got. We paid $12,000.00 and they had to come back several times for minor fixes. The work also took a bit too long.

RESPONSE FROM CHAMPION DIVISION MANAGER: There is absolutely nothing in our records on this project that would indicate anything other than a first rate installation. This project consisted of a patio cover, not windows, and therefore required a 3 day installation. Perhaps this A.L. member was expecting the project to be completed in one day? Her comments indicate she is pleased with what we did, but for whatever reason she still gave us a "C" grade. ??? That is something we are NOT accustomed to receiving. For that reason, and because her comments indicate that she is pleased with the project, I'm posting my response.

Description of Work: We wanted Timberbond. We waited 6 months because of factory delay. Then we waited 3 months for an installation appointment. Then, on the day of installation, the 'truck broke down.' The next day a rusty old truck with our sliding door and window chugged up the driveway. The door was scratched. The installation was messy. The follow up by the salesman was awful. Still waiting (5 months now) for my 'replacement' core for the door. Just awful. Maybe Champion does roofs better. But don't use them for windows or doors!

RESPONSE FROM CHAMPION DIVISION MANAGER: While I will readily admit that we do NOT deserve our customary "A" grade on this project, I very much feel that a "C" is too harsh. Yes, there were delays which were centered around [1]the product (highly specialized Timberbond wood grain interior that takes approximately an additional 4 weeks to manufacture - which we clearly communicate to customers) and [2] the holiday season (Dec 13 contract date, Dec 20 measure date, Dec 23 order date). Why our customer felt the need to share her negative feelings about the appearance of our highly skilled installer's truck I'm not certain. What I do know is that we employ ONLY highly skilled craftspeople and this particular installer is no exception. I would welcome his workmanship (and his truck) at my own home without hesitation. Our notes indicate that we installed the product March 18, 3 months after the order was placed so I am unclear as to why the customer states she waited "6 months because of factory delay". Our notes also indicate that the customer called March 24 because she was unhappy with the product, that my Install Manager did an initial assessment 3 days later on March 27 and then returned April 10 to perform a service. As to why she says she is waiting for a "replacement core" I have no idea and will need to investigate. Again: I would agree that this particular project was not up to our normal high standard, but the "just awful" and "don't use them for windows and doors" comments are - I believe - unwarranted.

RESPONSE FROM CHAMPION DIVISION MANAGER: This is a very confusing review! While I do indeed see that on 5/16/14 we went out to give an estimate to a prospective customer with this same name, it was at an address different than the one listed in the posted review. Additionally, while the posted review indicates that we actually performed work for this A.L. member, that is not the case. Our specific customer record shows that while we DID provide an estimate, the gentleman did NOT choose to use us. Given his opinion of our pricing as reflected in his review it would appear that cost was the reason he chose to not place an order. Champion is neither at the top or at the bottom when in comes to cost; we're almost always right in the middle. The reality is that given the quality of our products and the fact that we only use highly skilled labor that does not and should not come cheaply, we're never going to be the low priced item. It was good to see that this A.L. member gave us high marks for the quality of our products and our professionalism during the appointment.
