They came in when we were hoping that they would come in which was good. They drilled through the foundation very quickly and quite faster than what we were expecting them to. They were done very quickly. It was clean when they were gone. They took off and it was great. Our experience with them was fine. The quality of their work was fine. They were very responsive.
Description of Work: We used the services of Cascade Concrete Sawing and Drilling in January 2011. They basically drilled through the wood to put in extra concrete.

Scheduling was fantastic. They were more than pleasant and flexible when I had to reschedule twice to coincide with the arrival of the new window. They explained the process and rates to me (setup, cutting, clean-up) in detail and that the job usually takes about 3 hours. The price according to friends and others was the best around. The job was to be done early in the morning. The gentleman arrived a few minutes early and we reviewed again what was to be done. First concern was that it was my understanding that something would be put up to catch the mess that was made. I guess I was wrong since I was told it was my responsibility. I had to run out for tarps and throw something up. Then there was also a small problem with the measurements I made but he was very diligent with getting it right. Cutting seemed to go well but things were a little slow because of the measuring and the foundation was so thick. After close to 2-2.5 hours I had to run to work and after talking to the man it seemed like everything would be wrapped up soon but to have my wife call if there are any problems. I also said I don't want you to rush, just do a quality job. But after he finished cutting he left without cleanup. The place was covered in dust, a 30 gallon container of some water and cement mixture, and a couple hundred pounds of two large concrete slabs. He told my wife and assumed I didn't want to pay the extra hour for the cleanup and that it was very easy for me to cleanup myself. Cleanup wasn't easy especially since the window installers were coming the next morning and the slabs were blocking the work area. It took me some 7 hours to the wee hours of the morning to break up the concrete small enough for me to haul outside. Even though I made a make shift enclosure to keep in the dust, there was fogs of dust in my basement for days. I felt like a coal miner with black lung. It took weeks before all the dust was finally settled and vacuumed up. Overall, I think it just came down to this one worker not wanting to clean up or just assuming I could do it. I would still recommend the place for the price and reliability. I would just be very clear about what's expected.
Description of Work: Needed to have a window well cut open in my basement wall for the installation of my window. Size I believe was about 42x42.

It went great! The edge looks way better after they did their perfectly straight cut than it did before. They lined up perfectly with the curbing at either end. I didn't know it was possible to cut cement so perfectly! We were very happy with their work.

Originally had a qoute/estimate from Troy after he came out to the house. Very nice guy. Was prompt in a few days of calling him. He qouted us on removing the concrete above and below the windows. We had several months between the qoute and scheduling. During that time, we decided on even wider windows. I called Tony about it. No problem. I ordered the windows (Andersen Windows, 400 series) from Home Depot. (After having bad customer service at Dunn Lumber - which I don't always get there - and from a couple of stores that weren't open weekends - I decided I might as well get the same product from Home Depot if customer service is no issue.) Then I spent a good day or so measuring the windows and where to cut on the foundation walls, marking my lines, re-measuring, correcting, repeat. I must have measure 5 times each, and glad I did. Ultimately, I was right on (or right enough on). (I probably should have made them even another quarter or half inch larger). They sent out a guy (can't remember his name, but very cool and nice). I was interested in getting the new windows in that very same day. So while the cutter cut the windows, a friend and I removed the concrete and piled it by the house. (We didn't mind helping. It was a work out. And we had the day off.) By being there, we were able to move the cut out cement (for some windows it fell out, but we had additional complexities of not wanting to destroy the siding) and cut the frame for the new windows. That is, he'd cut one window, while we talking the debris so he could move onto the next window. It was a huge saw that he used (22 inch) and he had to bolt mount it on to the wall to cut it. Impressive to watch. There was some spray water, but he had a wet vac set up beneath it so there was less messiness than one would think. And there was a lot of dust, but that's to be expected. It all got done in about 8 hours on a Friday, and then after the weekend, another guy came and carried off all the cement chunks. He was also very friendly, and even carried off a few pieces from a broken up sidewalk that I had been trying to get rid of.
Description of Work: Expanded 5 basement windows, cutting through 8 inch thick walls.

Overall a great experience. Some problems in the beginning. The bobcat would not start, Jim (our concrete expert for the day) called and had one of the mechanics come out to fix the problem. Completed in about 45 min. Then come to find out the bobcat will not fit underneath our carport. It fit one way but not the other and left a little dent in the crossbeam. Jim felt terrible but went back to the main office right away and got a smaller bobcat which worked much better. The new bobcat had a piece fail on it which set back the work about 45 min more while a mechanic came to fix it. After that, it all went really well. Tight working conditions and the heat made for a difficult day for Jim and Ron, but they were fast and careful the whole way. Job site was cleaned and all of the concrete taken away. Job was complete in 7 hrs but would have been less without the mishaps. Great company and very professional. Will be hiring them again for more removal.
Description of Work: We had a 16'x24' section of concrete removed. The work was done with a bobcat. The concrete was broken apart and loaded into the dump truck and taken away to a recycle facility.

They did a good job, and showed up when scheduled. The down side was a $400 minimum fee which made the 2 1/2 hour job a bit pricey.

They showed up on time and got the cuts done quickly. They only used wet-sawing, so there was a lot of splatter, but no dust. They cut the concrete exactly as I wanted it so I could use some of the pieces again later for another project. A major time and effort saver. I could not have rented the equipment needed to get the job done, so I was happy to let the pros do it.
