Description of Work: plugged toilet, 35 years old , packed with minerals from well water, looked the problem over , suggested a new med price toilet to replace with , spent 1.5 hours replacing ,every thing checked out great, was very professional and courtious. would use beacon plumbing in a heart beat again

Description of Work: The company came out within and hour of my phone call. I called because my water heater was leaking. I had turned off the water connection before they came. When they came, they looked over the area and wanted to start working on the project. Once I asked for an estimate, they told me it would be $1,400.00. I asked for a breakdown of the $1,400.00 and all they told me was that it was all bundled in one bill and they could break it down for me. I told them to wait a few minutes for me to make a phone call. I was billed $60 for the service call and then they left. My brother-in-law came in and fix it for $300.00. The hot water tank wasnt broke, it was just the connections from the wall to the tank. $300 is a lot better then $1,400.00. I will never use Beacon Plumbing again.

Description of Work: Called to repair leaking dishwasher. When receiving quote I specifically asked for price to include the cost of the dishwasher reinstallation. He said he would bill me later, but that he would charge me the ''second job'' fee of approx $265 when he returned. Service tech said he would need to run dishwasher thru garbage disposal to prevent future leaks, and that he needed to cut into the drywall to fix the current problem. I told him to do what needed to be done to fix it right. His quote was $660 + $50 service fee + Tax. I said ok. Job finished. I then had the floors refinished - due to water damage. I called Beacon back to reconnect dishwasher and the tech's quote was $800. I told him about verbal agreement with first tech - response: ''he doesn't work for Beacon anymore''. Somehow the first tech's work had not solved the problem and now mysteriously the electrical cord for the same dishwasher was too short ($250 est. for electrical work). I told them to take a hike!
