Beacon Plumbing is awesome. They sent a guy out to my house and his name is Skyler Davis. He has been very best. His responsiveness and punctuality is good as he was here in 45 minutes. He put shoes of his on and he was in full uniform and he was clean as well. I hope I have a plumbing issue so that I can call him again.

After installation, I had to have them come out 3 separate times. I don't think it's unreasonable to have to come out one time to make adjustments, but having to call them 3 times makes me doubt the quality of their work. I wouldn't recommend them to others.

Brian Hoskins from Beacon Plumbing came when he said he would, diagnosed the problem and told me what he would charge to fix it. It was a job I could have managed but not as quickly, and with no guarantee, but Brians' price was great. He quickly did the job and left my home as clean as when he arrived and was very pleasant while he was here. I will call Beacon and ask for Brian for any future plumbing or furnace needs.

The positives: Beacon Plumbing responded quickly to my call on a Saturday; I was told that there was a standard service charge of $75 for responding, but that Beacon Plumbing considered Saturdays as regular work days, so there wouldn't be any extra "after hours/holiday" charges. (Of course, at the prices they charge, there's no need!) The plumber arrived within 90 minutes of when I was told to expect him. He cleaned up the area appropriately, provided an unambiguous cost for and obtained my permission before starting each component of the job. The negatives: It appeared to my untrained eye that we had a leak emanating from the base of our toilet. (My wife discovered this after taking a shower.) Since the area of the tub where water would have tricked down was bone dry, I ruled that out as the cause of the problem. I did not wipe up the substantial amount of water on the floor so the plumber would be able to determine the cause of the leak himself. When the plumber arrived, I showed him the bathroom in question. He immediately concluded that the wax gasket underneath the toilet was leaking, and quoted a price for replacing it. Although I was taken aback by the cost, I decided that it would be better to have the repair done right then, to preclude any water damage to the subfloor. I was also surprised that the wax gasket would have degraded so quickly, as it had been replaced approx. 3 years ago, and gaskets usually have a much longer life-span (10-15 years, minimum.) But, I'm not a plumber... After about 30 minutes, the plumber let me know that the metal flange used to secure the floor bolts holding down the base of the toilet was corroded, and needed to be replaced. Again, the cost of the flange and labor seemed high, but at that point I saw no other option but to authorize the repair. Fast forward to four days later: My wife took a shower, and upon finishing she called me in to the bathroom, pointing out more water on the floor. There was less of it,(shorter shower), but it was clearly coming from underneath the wall, not the toilet. We had a leak coming from the shower pipes behind the wall. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, we were stymied until the following Monday, when we called our regular plumbing company. They sent out a plumber immediately, who quickly assessed the situation, and confirmed the source of the leak. (Our plumber shared my opinion that the likelihood of the 3 year-old toilet gasket failing was extremely small.) In my opinion, the amount Beacon Plumbing charges for routine (and as it turned out, unnecessary) repairs is excessive. I do not plan to use this company again. UPDATE: Once we had our regular plumber (Lakewood Plumbing) figure out the actual source of the bathroom leak, we decided to have our bathroom remodeled. When the toilet was removed to facilitate replacement of our old bathtub, our plumber pointed out that the floor mounting flange Beacon had installed was not the correct one. Our plumber replaced it with the correct one, only charging us the cost of the flange ($30). I have lowered Beacon's initial mediocre grades to failing grades, accordingly.
Description of Work: Replaced toilet wax gasket and floor mounting flange. (We later discovered that neither of these needed to be replaced!)

.We had a toilet that was leaking. After we failed to fix it ourselves, we called Beacon Plumbing. They scheduled service within 2 hours of our call. The repairman, Brian, called to confirm when he would be at our house and then showed up promptly on time. Brian identified the problem, had the parts to complete the repair, and did so in a timely manor. He made minor adjustments to another toilet and fixed a shower as well. Brian then checked the water pressure in our house, determined that it was too high and that we needed a new regulator. He also had the correct parts in his truck and was able to repair our high water pressure as well. Brian was prompt, professional, and very friendly. He always put on shoe covers in our house and cleaned up after himself. If you have plumbing needs, we recommend Beacon Plumbing and ask for Brian. We were extremely pleased with our experience.

They came out the same day I called to provide an estimate and confirm what had to be done. The sanitation company man left my crawl space door off and the technician from Beacon put it back for me. There was no reason for the Beacon technician to crawl under the house he did this because it needed to be done. They made an appointment to do the hydrojet work on Saturday morning. They were prompt, courteous and professional. There was quite a few years of buildup in the pipe and they got it running clear and clean. The sanitation company was worried that the pipe was broken; but it wasn't so Beacon saved me thousands more in expense. I have used Beacon Plumbing off and on for several years and have never been disappointed in their service or price.
Description of Work: They had to hydro jet the pipe between the distribution box of the septic tank and the leach field. There was several years of build up and the sanitation company was afraid of a broken pipe. Turns out there was not a broken pipe afterall just a build up.

When the contractor was trying to fix the cartridge he cracked the marble around the bathtub. I contacted them again and they are trying to take the blame off the contractor. Response from Beacon Plumbing, Heating, & Mechanical Inc
The member did not accept the bid from Beacon to repair her leaking shower faucet so no repair work was performed by Beacon. Our technician nonetheless took the time and effort to help the member at no additional charge to identify the replacement shower cartridge so she could do the repair work herself. The shower handle has a small gap between its back and the metal sleeve escutcheon that covers the valve stem that the handle is connected to and that same stem connects to the cartridge and valve. To get to the cartridge it was necessary to first remove the shower handle, then remove the sleeve escutcheon, and then remove the face plate. The face plate to the shower was still attached to the wall of the shower when the technician loosened the shower handle from the metal sleeve by using a screwdriver levered against the sleeve escutcheon and the handle and by pulling outwards on the handle while sitting on the edge of the tub. The shower wall is ½” cultured marble attached to the wall studs. Structurally, it is an extremely sturdy one piece system. Given the technician was sitting on the edge of the tub and unable to exert a great deal of force or pressure on the shower handle, it is difficult to imagine how he could have damaged the wall (which he claimed he did not) as contended by the member. We sent a second technician to look at the damage about a week later. The face plate was not attached and he observed that there was a hairline crack on the shower wall but that the crack extended beyond the face plate so it should have been observable to anyone before they touched the shower handle. The original technician did not notice a crack before he removed the shower handle. We have no explanation for the crack except that perhaps the crack was not visible while the face plate was still screwed on and the plate pulled the wall tightly enough together to hide the crack. We have not pursued the repair work inasmuch as we do not believe it was physically possible for us to have caused the damage claimed by the member. However, we gave the member a referral to possibly repair the crack and seal it

The only negative is dealing with the office. I tried to schedule my annual maintenance and asked if they could look me up to confirm I was within the one year time frame. The person on the phone asked if I had my original receipt and when I answered "not in front of me" they said "call me back when you have it". Thank goodness I had Brian Hoskins card on my refrigerator. He was the plumber who came out originally and I realized I was dealing with him directly in the past. When he called back he was very courteous on the phone, happy to work his schedule around mine and showed up when he said he would. He did a great job and was very careful to make sure I understood what he recommended and what he was doing. He also took great care of my house, boots covered, mindful to clean up after himself, even asking if he could use the bathroom. I felt very confindent in his work. Very positive experience working with Brian. Next time I'll remember not to call the office.

About 10 years ago, we installed a Trane XL-90 heating system. It performed trouble-free until three years ago when everything started to go wrong. When the first problem occurred--the unit stopped working during an exceptionally bad cold snap, we called the company that installed the unit: We had bought a 10-year service warranty from them but they went out of business. So we simply grabbed the biggest advertiser in the Seattle area, Beacon Plumbing, and called for help. Since that initial visit, Beacon repairman Brian Hoskins has come out here eight different times by actual count: both for routine services and well as major meltdowns including replacement of a motherboard (!) and an external floor-level condenser unit which we inadvertently damaged. The last visit was two weeks ago: the heater had stopped warming the house. Brian has become family here: he knows us, knows the heater, and goes above and beyond the call of duty to get our heater up and running. The most recent visit started at roughly 7:30pm. He virtually disassembled the heater, found a part that had failed, discovered it was not on his truck, then called another Beacon repairman and drove to HIS house to pick up the part, then came back here to install it. I think he left after 10 pm. Beacon is expensive: no question there. But prompt, excellent service when you need it, skilled repairmen and personal concern for your welfare has no price. Beacon's service, especially Brian's work, has earned them a permanent place in our home services roster.

I was actually surprised by how reasonable the bill was, and I had such a positive experience that I decided to write this review (not something I typically do). Thanks Beacon!

I felt I was stuck and wouldn't have much in the way of choices if I wanted to have heat back that day. They first confirmed the furnace couldn't be repaired. They then gave me 3 different options on replacement furnaces. The prices (as I checked on later) were competitive and I was really desperate for same day service.
Description of Work: It doesn't snow much in the Seattle area but we've already had a few "snow days" and it has been cold lately.. The last snow I came home early that morning to a very cold house. The gas furnace that was 35 years old finally stopped working . I have young school aged children and I called Beacon Plumbing. They came out that morning within 2 hours of my call. They gave me my options, I chose one of the new high efficiency furnaces and by 5 pm my new furnace was going and my house was toasty. They also helped me arrange financing because the expense of a new furnace was the last thing I was expecting. If you're caught in an emergency I would recommend this company.

We agreed to the price and then both my husband and I went about doing other things around the house. We didn’t care how long it took Brom to do the work (since we knew how much it was going to cost) yet we also wanted to be able to use the shower, sink, etc., as soon as possible. Beacon got all of the items fixed, we weren’t inconvenienced too long and they left everything neat and clean. If coming out that same day, being on time, doing the work at a fair price and in a professional manner matters to you, then we would recommend Beacon. Great service at a good value.
Description of Work: We moved recently from Bellevue to Seattle. Our new place in Seattle had a few plumbing issues that needed looking at: a dripping shower in the master bedroom, hot water that seemed to run out too quickly, the electric furnace and the thermostat needed a check up, some dripping/leaking underneath the kitchen sink, and some overflowing on the top of the sink when we ran the dishwasher. We called Beacon Plumbing and they sent their technician Brom out. Brom arrived on time, put on shoe covers before entering our unit, and then looked at each item that needed fixing. He explained the problems and what needed to be done. Then he gave us a fixed price to do all of the work with all labor, materials and equipment included. If we approved the work to be done it was going to be covered by a 1 year warranty.
