Duke was able to get this project started faster than competitors had offered. In just 2 days, they did a beautiful job. Despite the fact they had to move some heavy objects, trim back the neighbor's jungle-like foliage, and deal with an unexpected yellow-jacket nest, Duke did not raise the estimated price one dollar. Great job, good price, and I recommend them highly.

He showed up on time and took measurements and agreed to send us a written estimate within a week. I placed 3 phone calls and two e-mail requests to Duke to let me know the status of the estimate. Two weeks have passed and neither Duke nor anyone from his company have responded with an estimate or returned my calls or e-mails. I'm only sorry I didn't read reviews of this company before calling them or I would have seen that this practice of promising an estimate and then not providing one appears to be standard operating procedure for this company.

I asked for a quote and the lady that called from the office was very nice. Duke came out and took some measurements. He told me I would get the quote in a day or two. I waited four days and sent a follow up e-mail chasing the quote. They never even replied to that. If they did not have time to do the work, just say so. Don't leave me hanging when I'm anxiously trying to find someone to give thousands of dollars to. Very unprofessional.

I called for an estimate on a Tuesday and Duke came out the following Friday to look at our yard and take measurements. I expected the quote on Monday but due to an email mix-up didn't receive it for a couple of weeks. Because Alki was able to do both the fence and the deck, we didn't get any other quotes and so can't price compare. They scheduled the project for three weeks out, during which time I got a property survey. We had to move the lines of the fence a little, which the Alki crew happily accommodated, and Duke adjusted the price as well. A 50% deposit was due on day one, and after three days of work we have a beautiful new fence. The crew was diligent and as unobtrusive as possible, and cleaned up the yard nicely at the end. The deck repair was relatively minor, but Alki accomplished in a matter of minutes what would have taken a day or two of work and aggravation for us to complete on our own. Deck was $1690, fence was $5,290. Phone does seem to be a better option than email to communicate with the company, but the work itself is excellent and we would use them in the future.

Duke arrived on time and was initially very professional. We discussed the fence replacement, he took measurements and said he would provide a quote that evening. He also said the job could likely be started in about two weeks. I never received the quote. I've since followed up with him twice -- by text, by voicemail, and talking directly by phone -- and each time he promised the quote would be sent that day. I have still received nothing and have wasted almost a month on Alki Fence.

I sent a request via the email address on the site, but after about a week, no one called me as requested. So I called the number on Angie's list today and no one answered. There was no voice mail. That's not how you get customers. I'll try a different company.

The job took three days in all and they cleaned up carefully when done. We like the new fence very much and it looks like it will last for many years. Thanks to Duke and the crew!

Duke came on time and as scheduled on 1/27/16 to scope out the job. He provided a written estimate by email a few days later. I chose Alki among the 3 quotes I received because 1) the bid was competitive with one other reputable company, 2) the positive reviews on Angie's list, and 3) I noticed that the company had responded to reviews on Angie's list. The job was scheduled for 2/29/16 and the crew arrived on time. Duke also came by to help us decide on site whether we were going to build the fence on the grade or stepped. Once the fence posts were set, Duke strung up some rope between the posts to help us visualize what the two options would look like. We chose stepped and were very pleased with the results. The fence was completed in a day, and the workmanship was excellent.

They constructed the fence exactly as requested - adding a vine trellis segment over one area for maximum privacy. They showed up when they said they would, completed the project on time and did beautiful work. Everything was cleaned up nicely too.

The job went well and we're very happy with the fence.

Duke was very quick to respond to my message to schedule an estimate. He came right on time and seemed very knowledgable. Will most likely be calling him to do a new fence on our property this spring.

Excellent service and work by Duke and his team. They were around for a few hours and even came back to tidy up some things after realizing they were short a few screws and nails. Duke arrived on time to give us the estimate. We compared it with another provider and his price is reasonable. We scheduled it between 9 and 10 and he showed up on time with his crew. My husband get them started and we both left for work. We came back and our fence is fully finished. The wood is beautiful and the work is great. The crew sunk the post in cement and did the work so beautifully. Duke recommended us to stain the fence when the weather is drier like in the spring/summer. A++ we will use Alki Fence Co again for future fencing needs! Thanks.

His rough verbal quote to pull the cement, replace the post and reattach the slats was $500. He promised to follow up via email with an exact quote based on a picture. I never heard back from him and did the work myself. It took about 4 hours with a helper and cost $50 for materials. $55/hour/person seems pretty steep for yard work.

We had a bad experience with them. We wanted to go with them. But, my husband had some follow-up questions and spoke with Duke. My husband said, "Would it be possible for me to do the demolition?" Duke was like, "Oh yeah." He was very, very willing. After that, my husband kept calling for a new estimate based on the fact that my husband was going to do the demolition. At that point, we lost all contact with him. The quote was excellent. That's why we wanted to go with them. It took multiple initial calls for him to call us back.

Alki Fence did a phenomenal job! They were professional, responsive and performed quality work. Duke helped find hidden property markers and his team went above and beyond clearing tough berry bushes. The worked full, long, hard days including weekend days to get the fence done in time for my dogs to move into the house. I am very pleased and highly recommend Duke and his team.

I got very bad service from them. I don't think I ever got a quote. The quality of service was not good. I might consider using them again in the future since everyone I called did not show up for an appointment.

Duke promised a quote which I never received after multiple phone calls and several emails and multiple promises to respond "that day" - each day I called. I finally received a response that was fair and very nicely As the company was recommended to me and the quote I received seems fair ("NA" in the feedback form still until the job is done), I will most likely go ahead with the Alki for the fence and will update with what I intend to be a fair and accurate review, as that is my nature. Good service should be rewarded with good reviews, and visa versa.... Hoping for the best so I can give a good review and upgrade my rating.

4 workers were here at 9:30, they removed old fence, put in new posts, and fence, cleaned up and were done about 12:30. Quick and efficient

The Alkii firm was very prompt in giving us a bid and then completing the job a short time later. The work crew arrived early and worked thru the day to complete both jobs, fencing and 3 gates, and repaired the rod iron railing in a QUALITY and professional manner. We will certainly hire this fencing firm again for Fencing Phase II.

After reaching out to this provider through this website, I got a response 3 days later saying to call Duke. I did, left a message and never heard back from anyone.

I asked him to come and give me an estimate on a fence repair. He came, but I never heard from him again: no email, no call, nothing.

I phoned to get a bid on replacing our cedar fencing. The representative who answered the phone for Alki Fencing asked where I live, and when I told her, she said "We're too busy, we don't go there". Their website states they serve all of the Puget Sound region.

Great! The fence is exactly what I wanted. It only took two days to complete and the crew was focused and professional.
