They took the old fence away and once they had we realized we didn't want to put a new fence in. We preferred to use a hedge instead. So, immediately called Duke and he adjusted our contract and had no problem meeting our new needs graciously and with alacrity. If we should decide to install a fence anywhere on our property, we would call him immediately. A wonderful company to do business with.

I took my time in getting the fencing done and took at least 5 quotes. Alki fence was not only the lowest but Duke was easiest to deal with and very straightforward in replying to my questions. Highest quote was twice of what Alki quoted. Duke and his team of 4 arrived on time and performed the work with in 5 hours. It was not a straightforward job as they had to negotiate a curve in the pool and get around the spa with stairs. Duke inspected the work after it was performed and forwarded me the warranty information on the fence. Duke also honored the Angies list coupon of $150 even though my fence was 135 ft, 15 ft less than 150ft mandated for the coupon. One thing - If you are trying to get hold of Duke, call him as he is a little slow in replying to emails. Overall it was a pleasant experience, fence is very sturdy and looks nice. It keeps my toddler safe and keeps my insurance company happy. I am already working with Duke to get a driveway gate installed.

We called Duke to schedule an appointment for an estimate on our fence project and he came out the following day. He was a half hour late, but was nice and polite when he arrived. The estimate was a fare price, so we called him back about 2 weeks later to set a date to have the work done. We actually decided to increase our initial fence plans by another 16 feet, so he emailed us another estimate and drawing the next morning as promised. After we confirmed we were ready on a Wednesday, they were able to come out the very next Monday to do the work. The day of the job, 2 men arrived and completed the fence project over the entire day. The fence looked great, and Duke showed up that early evening to make sure we were happy with the work. I would highly recommend Alki Fence to anyone and would definitely use them in the future.

Called for an estimate on Monday and they came out the next day. The quote was $1,000 less than the previous bid. We decided on Thursday to go with the Panel Top style fence, and they came and installed the fence on Monday. They had to move some heavy rocks, work on a slope, and remove some ivy that was on part of the fence, yet the job was still completed in one day. We plan on using them again and highly recommend them.

Duke really listened to our needs and met them in superlative fashion - at a price that was lower than any other bids we got. He gave us the estimate on Friday and had a crew out to complete all the work on Monday. We are picking up the dogs on Tuesday. I'm immensely impressed with his ideas for meeting our needs, his price, his speed and the quality of work.

Duke was very friendly and worked around our schedules. He came out Christmas week and gave us an estimate, I had to wait until after the holiday to get any responds from others for estimate. We felt his price was fair for the no frills fence we wanted to have installed. Other estimates seemed to high for a simple fence, no gates needed. He came out on 1/17 and got the job completed in one day. My neighbor was very happy when he even fix a gate on her property. Would use Duke again if needed.

Duke was a little latent in turning around the quote but it was a great quote (about 40% the price of others we received). The fence was installed quickly, and professionally. There were very minor quality issues, but at the price I can say emphatically that we're very very happy with the fence.

I called the company for a free estimate, someone showed up from the company, measured and gave me (what I thought was his estimate) it turned out to be his price. I call for a clarification of what I had received from the person, got a woman that refered me to the person that came out. I couldn't get any points across. I couldn't hire this person again.

We called on a Sunday, expecting to make an appointment for an estimate later that week. Instead, they came out that very day and gave us an estimate. We scheduled the work the following week, and the job was completed on time. They had to trim some trees and shrubs in order to get the work done, and it was all done very well. When they left they removed any evidence of their having been there. We are very pleased and would highly recommend Alki.

In mid-December, I contacted Alki Fence to give me an estimate for removing and replacing my 30 year old cedar fence. Duke contacted me promptly and made an appointment to come and provide and estimate. He provided me two estimates. One for a standard fence and one for a panel top fence. The price difference was only $600 so I chose the panel top fence. After I accepted the offer, Duke set a date for installation the same day. The date set to start work was 12/27/2012. They arrived promptly on the day work was scheduled to begin. The second day of work was done while I was at work and they finished up on Saturday the 29th. Duke also arranged to install a small temporary fence to contain my dogs while they did the work. The overall project was completed quickly and professionally. The workmen left the site clean. I would definitely recommend this company.

Prior to hiring Alki, I reviewed Angie?s List and requested estimates from 3 companies. I was impressed with the photos of Alki?s range of fences and really liked the finished look of their panel-top cedar fence. Their estimate was surpringly good value compared to others, and I relied on the Angie?s List reviews to trust that they would do good work. We are more than delighted with our new fence and would highly recommend Alki Fence. I made my initial request for an estimate on Oct 9, and got an appointment for the following day. Mr Minh arrived on time, did a careful walk-through, made his hand-written sketches and measurements, and was able to give me an estimate before he left. One of our biggest concerns was to be able to work-around and preserve several trees growing very near the proposed fence-line, one of which was a mature fir which would require a gap in the fencing. Mr Minh made some suggestions which had not occurred to me, and assured me that the trees could remain in place even with the new fence. By the next day we had considered the estimates, chose Alki, and phoned to schedule. Mr Duke came out to finalize plans with us (we wanted to make sure that both we and his team clearly understood exactly what was planned in regard to the tree by-passes and for the positioning of the gates). Installation was scheduled for the following week. The team arrived as scheduled with their truck-load of materials at 9:30am. They did a final re-measurement of the property line, a final smoothing and clearing of some pieces of old old RR tie, set up their string lines to mark the fence-line, dug the post holes, mixed the concrete, set the posts, and were cleaned up and gone in a couple of hours. The next morning, right on schedule at 9:20am, they arrived with their full truckload of cedar planks and power saws. By 3pm they were all finished, the area was all cleaned up, and we had our marvelous new fence. Completed within 2 weeks of my initial phone call! Excellent work!

He came out and give me a bid within 2 days. He said he would get back to me tomorrow and I did not. I thought it was maybe because I went with another vendor. The responsiveness was good but getting back to me was not. He did really good about everything he said. I was worried about the communication. They were very good.

The fencing looks beautiful, works well, and was completed so quickly that my father-in-law's jaw dropped. Everyone we dealt with was professional and prompt, and I wouldn't hesitate to call Alki Fence again.

Alki Fence was timely in responding to a request for a quote. The owner showed up on the date and time promised to survey the property to provide a quote. I share borders with neighbors and, consequently, asked him to break down the quote by fence segment including itemization of disposal and construction costs. Additionally, he showed me a variety of style options for the new fence and his quote included costs for two different styles. He did so in a purely educational fashion with no hint of an upsell. The quote came back a couple of days later than expected which would be my only issue--albeit minor. When it came time to perform the work, he and his crew showed up promptly on the date/time agreed. They were considerate to both us and our neighbors and were flexible when presented with a last minute change in layout for the new fence. Additionally, they offered to remove some chain linking fencing around an unused dog run. We had not contemplated this beforehand and welcomed the suggestion. They removed the existing fence and placed the posts on day 1 and finished the installation of the new fence on day 2--a day ahead of schedule. Our neighbors are now using Alki Fence as well. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to others.

It went really well. They did it in a single day, very detailed and excellent construction.

They worked quickly and did a good job. Duke came back the next day and resolved some issues we had with the installation of the fence like lowering a panel we felt left too much of a gap at the bottom. We were pleased with the price the quality and the low key professional response by Duke who runs Alki fence. We would recommend him to others and contract with Alki fence again in the future.

I had them pour concrete foundations (I have a digger) and the whole project went up in 2 days. My standard poodle is an escape artist so within the first 3 minutes of being in there, he figured out how to use the latch. Duke stopped by the next day and added a secondary latch at no additional charge. It was a great job, looks beautiful and hopefully I can salvage my back yard from the dogs!

No work was done as my time was wasted on this guy and business. Why did he waste my TIME???????????????????

Had a fence with lattice work that was partially pushed down in the last wind storm. They replaced it with a new fence and hauled away the old one.

Everything went great. Communication was good, the price was fair, and the crew was professional. They started one week after I agreed to the quote, and construction was complete in 3.5 days. They did a decent job of cleaning up and the fence looks great.

I was a little nervous when I called Alki Fence to schedule someone to come out for an estimate: the woman I spoke with was distracted--listening to something else happening in the room with her--and she didn't get my phone right twice. We had no confirmation call the day before the meeting for the estimate. But, Duc was very responsive to our needs and was quick in providing the estimate. The crew was quick and efficient in tearing down the old fence. We were concerned with how long we'd be with an open yard as we have two dogs, but the new fence was up within two days. We're happy with the work and when the older wooden fence on our property needs replacing in a couple years, we'll call them back out.

I had bad experience dealing with Minh from Alki Fence. He overcharged me at least $500 more from original per square foot estimate only because the scope of the project has changed. I would caution people from giving Alki a deposit money unless they absolutely sure about the project. In my case neighbors changed their mind and project has changed. I asked Alki almost the same day to not cash the check, but they did it anyways. From that point on price negotiations with Alki were mute. Minh found all reasons in the world to not return any of the sum they took as deposit for a bigger project. Minh even told me that they bought the wood for me from Seven Eleven store and that is why it was so expensive. But the wood they used on my fences is not the high quality, it is much thinner, rougher and less sturdy than the neighbors fence they promised to match. One of the sign posts they installed is not parallel to the road. I am having hard time posting a required Fire Lane sign now. The fence looks good from a distance, but when I was staining the fence I noticed how shaky some parts of the fence were, how quality of the wood was on the lower grade side and how many nails were left on the ground all over. I am very disappointed. with Alki.

Very well. We think we got very good value for the work. Alki's bid came in much lower than from the 4 other contractors we talked to. I would have been a bit worried that it was almost too cheap, but after seeing the positive reviews on Angie's List we went ahead with the work, and very glad we did. Initially, we weren't going to do the deck, but the fence bid was low enough we were able to add that on.It's only been a few weeks, but all in all we couldn't be happier and I'd happily recommend Alki. Great work, very responsive and professional. They started on time, finished in about two weeks and did a great job cleaning up after the work was done.

We chose to move forward with them for the work and they completed the fence in about three days. Very good work, solid product and it vastly improved the look of our yard. I would definitely recommend Alki Fence to others, and have done so already!

The work was perfect - they dug post holes the first day so we could approve the locations before Alki cemented the posts and added the fencing. Alki Fence also cut down some shrubbery that was in the line of the fence, and did a great job with that. Very quick and professional work, lowest of the three quotes we got for the work. We would definitely use them again.
