First Visit. Came in to clean and seal my counters. He was very pushy and tried to influence me stating that he was experienced. He then returned with the product needed to complete the job. He spend about 2 hours here and then left to return when the counters had completely dried. They looked awful, they did not shine and looked streaked and blotchy. I contacted him and he informed me that he had not used the correct product and was going back to whomever he purchased the product from and would return to do the job right. Needless to say I was not happy, because he had led me to believe that he was experienced. We allowed him to return to do the job right. Took much longer than anticipated but he kept trying to impress upon me that it was the person that sold him the products fault, not his. He finished the job and as in the first visit returned a few hours later to buff and finish the job. He tried to push me into and yearly contract agreement to have him to this every year on his first visit. I mistakenly did so. It was not long until I noticed that the granite did not look shiny or buffed. It was dulling and showed every finger print and I had a very hard time just trying to keep it smooth and uniform looking. As time passed I got more and more frustrated with the finish on my granite. Even to this day it does not clean well and had lost that beautiful sheen it once had. My house was only 4 years old when this incident with Sonshine Services happened. I let him know that I was not happy and because he was so pushy and weird I refused to let him come back. Well, exactly one year later he calls and leaves a message that it is time for him to do the yearly clean and seal of my granite. I was furious that he would even contact me. He is so annoying. I told him that I would not let him back in my house. He had also cleaned the windows inside and it took him most of the day. I noticed that he had not cleaned the window seals either. I thought at that time I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake letting him back in to do my granite. He refused to take no for an answer so I sat down and wrote him a letter, sent it certified mail, telling him that he had damaged my granite and I would not let him ever clean anything in my house, but since I had agreed to use him once a year, I enclosed a check for 90% of his fee. I also told him that he was not to ever bother or contact me again and if he did I would report his negligence and sue him for damages to my house. I have heard nothing else from him.

I do NOT recommend the cleaning company, Sonshine Services. I recently hired them to do some work for us and I can't remember a time that I was more disappointed in a company. I can't even begin to describe my frustration, nor could I list all the ways that I was dissatisfied with them -but I will try... First of all they came to my home to give me an idea of services they could provide and the associated costs. This process took a lot longer then it should have, probably because they kept on working it into our conversation that they were "SONshine Services spelled S-O-N" and kept implying that they worked with integrity. At some point he said that they always bid their jobs rather than setting a "per hour" fee. During this initial visit they looked at my shower doors and tried several times to convince me that I should pay them a lot of money (I think it was $150) to resurface then in order to remove the mineral deposits. I made it clear that all I wanted was STANDARD bathroom cleaning. So I asked to them to clean my bathrooms and kitchen and to clean my windows (including the window tracks where dirt accumulates. I was under the impression that all the dirt would be removed from the window tracks but in reality they only got 85% of the dirt. But the thing that really got under my skin was that he told me that he "dusted the window sills as COURTESY". If you're hired to clean the windows (including the tracks) don't you clean the window sills as part of the job?? Seriously - a courtesy? Oh, but it gets worse... When they were trying to figure out the bill he asked to see the business card that he scribbled prices on the day that he came to give the estimate. He then kept talking about how it took them much longer then he had guessed it would take but that he would go ahead and "honor" the price he quoted. Remember, he said that he doesn't charge 'per hour' so I felt like this comment was somehow supposed to make me feel (once again) that he was doing something as a 'COURTESY'. So he went outside to pack up his supplies and equipment and I walked out with the check I had written. When I gave it to him, he told me that he had forgotten to charge for some hard water treatment and that it was actually $8 more and that he needed a check for $8. I honestly think he could be cast as the Innkeeper for Les Miserables. While he was leaving, he said that if we saw anything that we weren't satisfied with that they had a 48 hour guarantee. All we had to do (he said) was to call with the concern and he would come out and make it right. Well, after they left my husband and I noticed that the shower doors looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all. We contacted him to let him know that they were still dirty and he kept going on about the resurfacing that he could do. I told him that I didn't want/need the resurfacing, I just wanted a standard cleaning. (I've had several other companies get water spots and soap scum off the doors in the past, so I know it could be done.) I'm fully aware that the deeper, set-in deposits are MUCH more difficult to deal with, but I just wanted them to use a scrub brush and some 'Spic and Span' to get the surface level grime off. After several text messages, he informed me that he could "at no charge" come and "try" to clean them but that he wouldn't spend anymore then 10 minutes on it because in his experience, it would be time wasted because nothing could be done. So, I spent a few minutes with a cut lemon and some kosher salt and now my showers doors are beautiful! Like my mom always told me, "If you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself!" Lesson learned mom, lesson learned.
