Fantastic. Rob is quiet, extremely adept at all of the myriad of jobs I asked him to do, which kept getting longer as the day went. He was on time, didn't take any breaks until I insisted he have some food and drink, and was very gracious in staying as I added things to the list. He came very well prepared, has a whole trailer on his truck that I believe holds anything he would ever need for a job. My husband was concerned he may not bring a ladder.....LOL. He had everything. His work was quality and although quiet was very, very pleasant. I would hire him again without hesitation.

Five of my hardwired smoke alarms needed replacing, so I bought the type that meet the new 2020 standard. Rob removed the old alarms and replaced both the new alarms and the updated wiring harness to the new alarms. When everything didn't go smoothly on the first try, he called the smoke alarm customer service phone line for troubleshooting advice. He was successful on the second try. I appreciate a man who asks for help when help is needed. This is one of the (many) reasons I hire Rob as my go-to handyman.

Rob is a very professional and fair guy. He repaired our fan which was coming down off the ceiling and the very next day he came back and replaced a 2x4 board on our front deck which had rotted. He is very meticulous and we were very pleased with his work. The fan turned out to be a problem than he had anticipated so took a bit longer, but his price was more than reasonable. We definitely recommend RT Specialties and will be calling him again ourselves.

These tasks were all performed to my total satisfaction. Rob did the work expertly and efficiently, explaining what needed to be done and doing it. The doors required parts no longer available and he had the skill to fix them by adapting current parts to fit. The doors now seal perfectly. I also appreciated his communication skills. I could discuss the tasks and get understandable ways to accomplish them. I was always kept informed of his scheduling. He's a very busy person as you would expect form someone who does quality work. Suspect this may be what to expect from someone with good reviews on Angie's List - which is where I found him.

Called and he was able to install the microwave the very next day. Great guy and excellent work, will definitely be using again.

Rob contacted me before coming over, had my list with him, went around the house discussing each item. Rob paid attention to my concerns and examined the issues. After accepting the job, Rob worked steadily being conscious of not damaging the floor with ladder legs and other work items. Rob cleaned up and was on to the next site.

The day before Rob was scheduled to come to my house, I sent him a list of the tasks I needed done. My task list was lengthy but, with the exception of painting the interior of some closets and repairing window screens, none were particularly time-consuming. Rob systematically worked through my list of handyman tasks on the first day and, when it became apparent that he would need to return for a second day, I asked him to do some additional painting. He ended up painting the interior of 4 closets. My general practice is to supply materials (such as paint) and to hire Rob only for his labor.

I found this one-person company on Angie's List. The company name is RT's Specialties; the handyman's name is Rob Thurston. The reason I hired him, rather than the other company (also on Angie's List) that I contacted, was that he spent time analyzing my roof/gutter problem during the bidding process. After I hired him, he returned to check out the roofing situation and then ordered the correct materials. I supplied many of the materials for the various tasks; Rob supplied the remaining materials plus his labor. He showed up when he said he would. Completing all of these tasks took about 6 hours. He appeared to read the instructions on products labels He invoiced me via e-mail a few days later for the amount of his original bid. Since then, it has rained. The drip diverter that he installed in the front gutter kept my front porch dry. I've already asked him to return to fix the gutter over the back porch. I'm delighted to find a reliable handyman in Rob Thurston.

Rob Thurston, known as T for his last initial, did a terrific job! There were so many little things in the home I wanted to put on the market that had accumulated over the years. His workmanship is excellent! He is very prompt and hard-working! He is knowledgeable about nearly every kind of issue and had good suggestions when I wasn't sure how something should be repaired. He suggested a metal door frame repair kit to repair the exterior door that had been damaged when someone apparently tried to kick it in. No one will ever kick it in now!
