BEWARE DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH IGT CONSTRUCTION!!!! A one day job turned into three and half months of h***. I was left with an unfinished area that was contracted , two broken sprinklers and a broken fence. The mess they left in my gravel driveway has taken me two weekends to fix. And to add insult to injury was told that was what I asked for ...terrible

I cannot believe that in today's environment of top quality customer service that a customer can be completely ignored for 24 days.
Description of Work: 24 days ago Jack with IGT came out to identify a broken sprinkler and assess the need for improvements to the irrigation system. The sprinkler was to be fixed by that Friday (within three days) with an estimate for the rest of the work by the end of the following week. I have made five phone calls over the course of the 24 days each indicating a call back that afternoon or the next morning with a date and time to fix the system and provide an estimate. Not ONE returned phone call to date.

Owner Jack Lester jr. of I.G.T. Landscaping visited our residence to bid a complete underground sprinkler system for our property. Within the week we chose their bid-- even though it was the most expensive of the bids we had received. We chose this company because the products they quoted (sprinkler heads, filtration system, and flexible piping) were the kind we wanted installed. Though the contractor stated they contacted U-Dig, and there were paint marks left in the front yard indicating underground utilities, when the sprinkler system was installed, I.G.T.'s workers breached an underground power line in our back yard and never reported the damage to us. The workers buried the damaged line and hooked up our new sprinkler system. Every time the sprinkler system would activate, it would short out and trip the electrical breaker the sprinkler system was on. We contacted I.G.T., and they sent the same 2 workers over that had used the trencher to dig. The workers immediately located right where they knew they had breached the underground line and tried to repair it with electrical tape. This was NOT acceptable to us, and we insisted the breached conduit and line be replaced, and that it be up to code. We hired a licensed electrical contractor (which owner Jack Lester agreed should be done) to install the new conduit and electrical line and the bill came to $550.00. We gave a copy of that bill to owner Jack Lester, assuming he would pay for the damage his workers had caused, or for at least a portion of it. As of the date of this review with the electrical bill becoming due and payable on 6/7/13, no payment has been offered by I.G.T. despite our repeated requests, and we will be forced to pay for the damage they caused. Though I.G.T. Landscaping's layout and design appear to be good, the oversight and follow through of our project required numerous phone calls and requests for correction throughout the process. Many promises were made to show up for repairs needed where no one would show up or call to let us know they were not coming or that something had come up. We are still waiting for remediation on several issues. I can't recommend this Company at this time due to the hassles we have endured by having chosen their bid.. This system cost us far more than the bid from I.G.T., and it just goes to show you that the most expensive bid does not give you the best guarantee that you will get a quality job and service. Updated 7/19/13. We are very disappointed in the response by Jack Lester Jr. His response to Angie's List inquiry is completely dishonest. We fortunately documented all contacts with this company in writing by email when the problems with this contractor came up, and his bill was paid the very day our invoice was printed and hand delivered to his office manager. We were nothing but nice to his employees, and the power line they hit was buried and up to code when it was installed in the 1970's prior to our buying the home in 1989. It is a sad shame a business owner can sully the reputation of a client by responding dishonestly to cover up their lack of good management. We have never sued a contractor before in our lives, but may make an exception for this guy. Hire at your own risk!

Response from IGT Landscaping & Excavation
Someone ran an electrical line from the garage to the shed. The line was 220 volts and was direct burying at 2 – 3 inches deep. U dig will locate anything that has a permit pulled. This line burial was illegal and could have seriously hurt my men. I suggested that a new line to be installed at 18” deep and placed in conduit and have an electrician that is certified install in apparatus properly. (removed member name) made some pointed remark about my company paying for the new electrical installation: If I pay for the new line, then IGT owns any future problems. After this accusation of payment was made I become very wary of the (removed member name) intents. I have myself been in this yard taking care of adjustments and warranty work. My men are instructed not to step on this property unless I am on the property also. On a scale of 1 – 10 I give (removed member name) and 8.5 for degree of difficulty. They are found to be very “Sue Happy” and through my homework done; this is very true. If you feel that this is a claim that is worth your posting as a bad contractor, I urge you to work beside me and my company for a day. We will surprise you. I also wish you had a service, where contractors could report bad customers, slow pay, expecting things done for free, abusive to employees, ect. I think you would find (removed member name) on the list.
