I was really impressed with Bartlett Tree Service from start to finish. Sterling came to give us a bid, and spent a lot of time educating us and helping us understand our options. He gave us an itemized bid that was competitively priced. The day of the work he showed up with the crew, and reviewed the plan with us. The crew was friendly, professional, and respectful of our property. They did a great job with the tree work, and we will definitely be using them in the future.

The landscape of our mid-century modern hillside home had been neglected for decades, and the overgrown hedges were crowding out the trees. The arborist spent plenty of time going through the options and provided a decent estimate. The team from Bartlett arrived on time, on the date they said, ready to work. They did a wonderful job, high in the trees on a difficult hillside property. They were polite and responsive at every step. At the walk-through at the end of the day, there was not a twig out of place, and the job was complete to the agreed scope of work. I know that we will be calling them back to do more work, which the property desperately needs.

Sterling from Bartlett came out the next day to give an estimate and arrange for the work to be done within 1-2 days. I had one other estimate from another Angie's list company which was higher. This was during a time when there had been a lot of windy weather so I was pleased at how soon a team was available to do the work. The large tree was balanced on its branches on our sloped driveway and was in danger of crushing a number of shrubs and other plants if it was not removed carefully. Sterling arranged to do a lot of the trimming from a bucket truck which he did himself. There was no additional damage to the garden and the area was cleaned up and the tree taken away. Sterling was responsive to phone calls during the process and afterwards when I needed some further information. I would definitely use this company again. Sterling was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.

It was excellent. Their arborist spent a good hour plus with me walking the property making suggestions for immediate and future plans for yard care. There are a lot of special plants in my yard, and when they did the tree trimming work, they were very careful to protect both my landscaping and the roof.

Went great from start to finish. Communication was great. Staff doing the tree work was very conscientious, courteous, skilled, and knew what they were doing. One of trees was a very large Douglas Fir over the house, and I had great confidence in what they were doing. Price was reasonable. Will definitely use again. Plan to make them my go to tree company from now on.

Bartlett has provided outstanding service on this property twice. I have a large, mature ash tree that is known for having somewhat brittle boughs with structurally weak branch unions, so keeping excess weight off it is important. Bartlett's techs climb into the crown and take the time to prune judiciously and selectively, so that unless you took before and after pictures, you'd never know they removed a significant amount of material. This is difficult and painstaking work, and they do it well. Very professional and helpful, willing to answer questions, and always punctual for both estimates and projects. They're not the cheapest option, but for a tree that I care about, I don't want a low bidder. I'd recommend them without reservation.

I have a lot of doug fir, cherry and other large trees. I have used them on a number of occasions and they are great. Importantly they understand how the tree fits into the overall landscape, not trimming too much and producing a look that is well kept but also "natural," not simply butchered. Highly recommended

Excellent all around, couldn't be more pleased. The firm that previously maintained the trees closed and I interviewed six firms before choosing Bartlett. I am very impressed by their professionalism, service, and fair price. Importantly they have an office manager and their estimator answers emails promptly allowing firm communication. Their work was much better than their predecessor. I have extensive experience with trees, nonetheless they educated me on much I didn't know. I've recommended them to three people, two of whom have already used them and are very satisfied.

This was the 3rd treatment for a pair of charry trees. The technician was very knowledgeable and thorough in his work. He also treated a large rhododendron for root problems and applied a time-release fertilizer. That shrub is now starting to show new growth, very encouranging.

The service worked out well. They had a chipper attached to their truck and they did that on site and I asked them for the chips and they gave that to me for landscaping. They have a truck with a cherry picker and they can get in to areas that are high with no trouble at all.

We have some tree work done every few years, and this company has performed the best of any previous company. I strongly recommend their work

Jake was very knowledgeable about our types of trees/bushes and provided excellent suggestions about what should be done and how to make everything look good. The crew followed up with suggestions based upon our desires. When job was completed they totally cleaned up all branches and other debris. In total they trimmed and thinned out 5 trees of varying sizes, a whole row of arborvitae and three other bushes. The only two concerns were the time it took to come to our house for an inspection/quotation (2 weeks) and their billing process. The original billing did not have the Angie's List discount and a second billing took over 3 weeks to be received. The billing is done from a corporate office, not the local office.

Excellent at every level. From making the appointment for an estimate, to having an expert walk the property talk to me about what I wanted, to scheduling the work, and rescheduling due to weather, to having the work done - I was happy at every point. Bartlett Tree Service is very professional. I had met with other tree service providers prior to meeting with Bartlett, and each time, I felt like I was dealing with a salesperson- not a tree expert who could best advise me on what to do with various issues we were having. The estimate Bartlett provided us with was very detailed and segmented out so that we could decide which services we were going to go with and which we might want to omit and complete at a different time. We scheduled work to be done on 2 of our 100+ foot douglas firs and they did exactly as we discussed. They also checked in with me at several points for feedback, making sure not to cut too much. These guys are concerned about the health of the trees and aesthetics. They know what they're doing. Arrived on time, and left our yard in better shape than when they'd arrived. I will most certainly use them again.

They did a great job. I found the employees were very good and gave great advice. I found their pricing was very fair. Once the work was done, they cleaned up all of the debris and branches. The crew took several days to do the work, but they were here every day working hard. I have nothing but praise.

The installation was fine. The owner Jake or something - it's been a while, would never return my calls or e-mails. He charged me for a soil sample which I had to chase down to get. Actually, I don't think they ever gave it to me, just told me "it was fine". I had to communicate exclusively through his assistant, who actually was quite kind and helpful. He'd probably not be in business if it wasn't for her. I would never deal with him again due to the lack of responsiveness and professionalism. But I will say that the tree installation went fine (I don't think he showed up for that) and the tree has survived thus far.

We have used this company for years. They are always prompt and courteous. They clean up so well you can't tell they've been there. We have never been dissatisfied with this company. We have recommended them a lot and our entire neighborhood uses them.

I noticed a large, dying limb on the large maple tree in our back yard. The limb was hanging over the neighbors yard and I was anxious to have the situation addressed prior to the stormy fall/winter weather. I called Bartlett's and they sent a rep (Jake) out the next day to examine the tree and determine a course of action. The tree was diagnosed with a treatable bark canker (Phytophthora Canker). Jake discussed the treatment options with me and sent a written proposal by e-mail the same day. Once I accepted the terms appointments were set up for the treatment programs and the limb removal and clean up. The limb removal crew was awesome to work with; very informative, polite, safety-conscious, efficient and thorough. If I had not been there when the job was done I would probably would not have known they had been there, other than seeing that the dead limbs were gone. They did a great job of clearing away debris, chipping it up and hauling all of it off. On the day the canker treatment was scheduled, the weather was very wet with constant downpours and heavy rain scheduled for the next several days. Bartlett's office manager called to tell me that they wanted to postpone the treatment so that it wouldn't be diluted by the rain which could reduce its effectiveness. The very first stretch of dry weather the tech was out to complete the first bark canker treatment. The second treatment is scheduled for spring 2014.
