The Matt Jensen Team

We contacted Matt Jensen as his name is all over the for sale signs in our area (the Issaquah Highlands) along with many sold signs. It appeared that he was quite successful in selling homes in our area, and fairly quickly. We met with Matt and he had a solid plan and solid sounding approach, so we signed with him to represent us and list our home. As we neared the time to actually list the home, Matt continually pushed us about delaying our listing. We pushed back, and had to push hard, about going ahead on our original time line. We also inquired about using a higher price point based on demand in the neighborhood, but Matt again insisted that we were priced right and just a little aggressively (yes, there were recent sales to back him up, but traffic and sales in our neighborhood are accelerating). We were successful in selling in one day at asking price. Great, you might think. Except.....Matt and his team were actively discouraging additional offers in the way that they spoke to prospective buyers right in front of us during the open house and at other times. Additionally, once listed we could not get Matt on the phone when needed. His assistant was late to our open house and told my husband that she thought the open house was cancelled since we already had an offer. Overall, we feel that we did not receive the attention to our sale that we should have, and that we did not achieve the sales price that we should have because of the active interference of Matt and his assistant. Additionally, in further research and discussion with others in our neighborhood, we learned that our experience is not unique, including others cancelling listings with Matt due to similar dissatisfaction. We feel lucky that we sold as successfully as we did, but feel that it was in spite of Matt, not because of his work.
