We never reached agreement on the estimate/quote. The gentleman I met for doing the estimate was great and very professional. He seemed to very much know his stuff and spoke confidently about performing the work we needed done. The problems first came with regards to the detail in the estimate. It was very vague and was missing specifics we had discussed about the work requested. There was also no breakout for costs, simply one final cost total. I responded to the estimate with a list of bullets of specifics we discussed (thickness of drywall on certain areas and sound proofing caulking work) and also requested the contract have some language to address acceptance criteria (walk through and written agreement of touch-ups or further work not completed per contract), nothing extreme or out of the ordinary, in fact only the most basic language which should be required in any service contract. This is where things went off the rail. The owner responded saying that he was no longer interested in doing the work because it was too much hassle for him. He claimed none of his contracts include any inspections or walk through upon work completion and he was completely unwilling to agree to any considering them "not worth it". This is a HUGE RED FLAG. Any service provider who is unwilling to have even the slightest amount of language in a contract to ensure that the work requested matched the work performed should be avoided at all costs and honestly shouldn't be in business. Avoid this business at all costs, it isn't worth the risk and not having standard contract language to fall back on to protect both the home owner and the business.

I did my homework and was surprised at their original bid, but it turned out to be very competitive. Summit had already done the drywall on both upper floors during the original build so I had a good understanding of what I should expect from them. They were very punctual from the original meeting at my house through every phase of the work. That was huge for my timeline. Their workmanship was beyond excellent; I could not be happier. They papered 100%of the floors to protect them (thank you)... the value of this was large. They brought in (84) 4X10 sheets & installed them all in a day and a half. Next came the finish crew... I have soffets, beams, and I wanted all “outside” corners rounded (all part of the original bid). Mud and tape in one day. After a few days of dry time came sanding and touch up. When it came to texturing, the applied an orange peel to match the rest of the house. After they cleaned up, the finished project was ready for me to paint two weeks after we started the original delivery. They were fast. They were thorough. Their craftsmanship was impressive and in the end... they charged me exactly what we had agreed to and nothing more. I’m a big fan. A+++++
Description of Work: In completing an unfinished 1000 sqft basement, needed drywall (boards, mud, tape, finish sanding and texture) for all interior walls and 9 ft ceilings.

In the process of removing wainscoting, much of the drywall behind it was heavily torn. I personally removed and replaced all the drywall and tried my hand at mudding and taping. After several attempts at smoothing out some spots, got frustrated and decided to have a professional do the finishing work. I called around and got 3 estimates ranging from $800 to $1200. After putting off the project for a few months, I finally called Summit Drywall. I talked to TJ and he was very responsive. He sent a person out later in the afternoon to scope the work. They looked over the job, walked me through exactly how they would do the work and estimated time it would take. The response was in line with other estimates I received. I later spoke to TJ and said they would do it for $450 (surprised given the other estimates) and could fit part of the work in the next day and finish later in the week. Bryan showed up the next day as promised, quickly got to work spending approximately just 2 hrs to skim coat and feather out the joints. He came back 2 days later to complete the work, which included tenting off the area, taping, sanding, and texturizing. He was completed in 4 hours and did a fantastic job - clean up and all. I would certainly hire them again for future work.

They were fantastic. The bid price was exactly what they charged us. We did a lot of research and they had a competitive price. The entire installation was quick and trouble free. They also did all of the mud and tape work, everything looks flawless. We are very impressed with their work and their clear communication.
Description of Work: They completely re-drywalled our entire home (about 3200 sq ft.)
