Randy arrived promptly, assessed correctly what needed to be done and proceeded with job. Finished a couple of hours before estimated time.

It took a couple of trys to determine the cause of the leak, but no water dripping from the ceiling after yesterday's crazy rain/snow storm! They also noticed a few little issues with my gutters while on the roof and took care of them while up there. They were on time, walked me through what they were doing, and focused on the task at hand. Will be the first place I call when I need a professional to fix something.

The work was great, but they are very expensive!! One problem was that the invoice they left at my house was not what I was promised for the per hour rate and the sales tax was miscalculated. They did take care of these issues when I raised them.

They did in a timely manner and even made it further down my list than I expected for the time available. I'd hire them again.

The handyman, Junior, provided excellent service. The result is tidy. When he did his job, he really though about the best result. He even replaced some components of the rods with his own to get better result.

Other than the difficulty removing the old grout, the job went perfectly. The grout was not the fault of the contractor, but rather the person who originally installed it. Randy was professional, timely and cleaned up after himself very well. I would strongly recommend Shirey Handyman Services and, in particular, Randy.

Ultimately it worked out well. The first guy they sent did not do a very good job. The fella they sent the third time did a very good job. We did have some work done by them. The first guy was terrible, but the guy they sent back at the end did a very good job. The first guy they sent, I would send him to rehab. The second guy really knew what he was doing and did a good job. But it took us a while to get them to commit and finish it. The first guy tore stuff up looking for leaks. It turned out to be a simple leak from the furnace. The first guy tore up walls and the second guy came and fixed it. When pushed the company followed through with a good repair person. Pay attention to the people they are hiring. The first guy lacked in confidence. The second guy knew what he was doing. The price was reasonable. It started at one price, then went up. When we realized what was going on it came back down to the original price. The price originally was reasonable. The last guy did a great job. They were pretty responsive. They called us back. The people that ran the company were serious about following up. They were on time. The company itself was professional.

He came early, was pleasant. Job was more complicated than expected due to how the original fixture was installed, but he completed it without a hitch and within the two-hour minimum service call.

Work was done well with minimal supervision. My only complaint was the worker was a little hard to communicate with. But he did a good job, and I will use Shirey Handyman again.

Great. They finished pressure washing so quickly it was awesome. The gentleman that came out to help with tasks was on time, super friendly, and offered options based on materials (very different costs). I liked that he asked before just doing the most expensive thing. There was one thing they couldn't do, so need to outsource to full electrician, but I kind of expected that in the beginning. Very nice, will definitely hire again.

They were great. He was here for about a half a day. He did everything and was great.

Very well. Task #1 was completed in 25 minutes by installing toggle bolt fasteners for towel rack mounting clips. Task #2 took about an hour to cut and fit four pieces of lumber onto the fence. Task #3 took only 15 minutes to apply a single coat of paint. I applied a second coat afterwards and remounted the hand rail. All tasks were completed within the two hour minimum charge.

The gentleman that was sent our was friendly and responsive and she had an initial good feeling. He replaced the parts inside the toilet, and cleaned the fixtures. He then pressure washed the shingles on the mailbox to "save money". The shingles were admittedly in bad shape and needed replacement, but the pressure washing only made it worse and the shingles are falling off. Cedar shingles should never be pressure washed, and he should have known that. A total waste of money and shingles still need replacement. The bill for the day was about $1000 which seemed very high to me, but it is their stated hourly rates which we should have checked beforehand, so our fault. The toilet began running again shortly after the replacement, and they sent another handiman out to take care of under warranty. She didn't think it sounded right after additional work was completed, but he insisted it was fine. The toilet is running again one day later and she has had to shut it off below. She is going to call a plumber to get it done right. We cannot recommend Shirey based on her experience.

Arrived on time and performed work quickly

Excellent experience on all levels. My first contact was with Amy who provided the estimate and advised that we have all necessary materials on hand to expedite the installation. Once our custom gable vent was received, Amy went above and beyond to schedule the needed service within a tight time window. The handyman arrived on time, was thoughtful about how to approach the job, and provided an expert-level installation. We will definately use Shirey Handyman Services for future projects.

I am giving this company "B" only because their awesome customer service personnel "Amy & Brenda" came into rescue. If it was not for their follow-up work, I would have given Shirey an "F" with no question. I bet if you read my experience below, you would agree with me... but once again, before you read my review, I have to praise Amy highly. When I called her and voiced her my concern with their handy man's work ethics, she jumped into action and corrected things to her best ability. So this is what happened... I scheduled an appointment with Shirey Handyman on 5/1. The handyman sent to my job site was named Mike. My job request was for him to: 1. put in a new base trim in the bathroom 2. switch out the shower head & faucet in the bathroom. 3. caulk the bath tub area in general When he arrived, he informed me that I bought the wrong faucet and base trim, and I needed to get the right one. I took his advice and went back to Lowe's to get the right material. I asked him to finish caulking the bath tub area and start taking down the old trim during the time I am running his errands. It took me an hour to get the right material and come back. By the time I got back, only part of the base trims were taken off, and he had only caulked around the area where the bathtub meets the wall tile. I asked him why he did not caulk the rest of the area, he told me it was because when I talked to him, my hand was pointing at the bath tub, so he only did the area around the bath tub. Also he did not finish taking off the rest of the trim, because he didn't notice those trims (How?? Seriously?) I didn't want to argue with him about this, so I just asked him proceed with the rest of the work ASAP. When putting in the new trim, he started putting in the trim board without even cutting the trims at the right angle (where two pieces meet at the corners). I lightly reminded him that he should cut the two pieces into 45 degree angle, and he replied to me by saying cutting the angle is not a standard practice. He should have a choice of doing the way he wants. I asked him again nicely to cut the two pieces into 45 degree angles so it will look nicer. He grudgingly started to cut the corners. When he was working on the trim, I noticed he did not put caulk on the trim to the left side of the sink. As a result, there was a HUGE gap in between the wall and the caulk. I pointed it out to him, and he said its not needed. I insisted him putting caulk in. He put it in but snapped at me tacitly that " Are you going to keep on watching me for the rest of the time?" So I decided to wait around the hall way to give him some space. While at the hall way, I heard him arguing with someone named "Jennifer" about how Shiery is giving him too much work at not enough time, and he was getting angrier and angrier. By the time he told me he completed the work, this is what I found out: 1) A nail was protruding from the trim base (very sharp and dangerous) 2) the trim behind the toilet was not caulked at all 3) trim on right side of the sink was too short I pointed out to him the first two problems, and he got really angry with me. he actually pointed his finger at me and said: "Now you listen to me, enough is enough, This is the last thing I will do." I was actually feeling threatened, so I didn't bring up the third concern. He fixed the problems and told me he was going to charge me for 4 hours of work. I was not happy with that, so I protested by saying I think he could have done more work during the time I was gone running errands for him. He told me if I have concerns, bring it up with the office, but not him. Then he left. After he was gone, I received a bill for 4.25 hours-- even more than what he said to me in person! I called Amy and told her what had happened. She apologized to me, and asked me politely what she can do to fix the problem. I asked her to just charge me fairly and after investigating the issue with her team, she e-mailed me back and gave me discount on the work. Because there are good people like Amy at Shirey, I might/maybe give the company another try, but I will definitely ask for a different handy man
