We are a full-service remodeling & home repair contractor that serves King County. Our home repair service starts with a 2-hour minimum for a highly skilled craftsmen at $225. Additional time is invoiced at an hourly rate, plus the cost of materials needed. Shirey Home Pro also offers design-build remodels that handle all aspects of your project, from conception through completion. Our goal is to build the kitchen or bath of your dreams. We are here to be your personal contractor for whatever your home needs - no matter how big or small your project is.

Description of Work: I needed some basic drywall and electrical work done. They finished few things and worked slowly to maximize the time spent on the project. They broke the first light they installed and came back to instal it once I got a replacement. The light didn't work, so I had to install it properly. They installed wooden floors in our new closet, but did it perpendicular to the preexisting floor boards despite me telling them to run them in the same direction and put a header at the transition. They then told me that I could purchase more floor boards and they could replace them the next time they were out. No thank you, slow poor quality service. The employees were safe, so that was a plus.

The work we did for the client was done 10 months ago. Notes in the client file say the client purchased all of the materials. The light fixture was broken in the box. It was a surface light and the client told the tech to install it anyway and he would replace the glass shade. The client also didn't purchase enough floor material to install it in the same direct as the rest of the floor. There was enough material to install it in the other direction and since a refrigerator was going to be on top of it, the client decided to go ahead with the floor installation. Afterward the client wasn't happy about it and we offered to replace the floor if he got more material

My deck is beautiful. Everything from design to building the deck was great. I would give them superior ratings. They are extremely flexible about scheduling. I plan to use them to add a bathroom to my home. I would recommend them and use them again in the future.

When Jeff was here doing another job for us, I showed him the back deck which was in bad shape. He assured us that he could build a new one. Jeff showed up exactly at the time of the appointment, even calling to let us know he was on the way. He built a larger, secure and very solid deck made of cedar. It is so beautiful! Thank you Jeff, you rock!!

Jeff was prompt, friendly and VERY competent. The bed is like new and he cleaned up everything. Fantastic!

Shirey Handyman Service was late in getting an estimate to me (approx 2 weeks), but when I received the estimate it was acceptable. I proceeded to hire Shirey and Chris Panko installed the ceiling and did an EXCELLENT job. I'm very happy with my new ceiling. My wife and I are VERY happy with the new Sheetrock ceiling in our rec-room. We give Chris Panko an "A" for his workmanship for removing the old ceiling and installing the new. I give the general office at Shirey Handyman a "C" for service, they were slow in giving me an estimate. The job was completed within budget. And mainly we are pleased with Mr. Panko's finished product. Our new ceiling looks great!

The work was completed on time, as they promised. The workers answered all my questions and offered information to help us. The work was well done. I do feel that their price was a little high, therefore I won t be using them again.
Description of Work: I had a bath tub removed and a new one installed by them to upgrade. They also repaired a 4 foot section of the bathroom wall. I had them install a fan and light combination in this bathroom as well.

He worked an entire day of work. He came into my house from around nine in the morning and worked until five. He did a very qualified and excellent job. He knows everything he needs to know.
Description of Work: He installed the lighting on the outside of the house. He did the entire wiring in the house with new lighting throughout. He did the siding on my house, and he also installed two new electrical boxes.

Rick was our technician, recommended by Shirey because of his experience with tiling work. He performed the work at three visits over four weeks. His first visit, he did the shower work, pulled up the carpet, bleached the mildewed sub-floor and advised us to bleach it one or two more times and let it dry completely, over several days. When we called Shirey to have him come back to complete the job, Rick was booked out solid for two weeks. He came for visit #2 and laid the tile. The following week, he finished grouting the tile.
Description of Work: I had my shower re-caulked, including fixing a prior bad (hubby done) caulk job that sealed the wall drain, the bottom door seal replaced, and had tile laid in the area in front of the shower and tub.

The work and the man who performed it were both excellent. Prompt arrival, completed work on time. Took a very difficult job, sanding front porch, and restored it to its condition when new. The handyman was unobtrusive, but offered many helpful suggestions for other issues around home, without pushing future services.

Troy Burgess was about 20 min. late. His work was average to good, but every time I went over to talk to him he was either on the phone managing his business, or he got a call while I was there. I have serious doubts that I got my money's worth.

Excellent. Dan was prompt, courteous, friendly, skilled and knowledgable. He performed the work quickly and adapted the threshold installation to materials I had on hand.
Description of Work: Removed old threshold on tricky, sloped transition from tile floor to wood floor. Installed hemlock threshold (owner provided) in two places, that had to be shimmed and glued to get it to 'best fit' condition. Re-installed bottom trim on door that had been installed backwards by others. Provided guidance on replacing a bathroom fan/heater.

Mike was very punctual, pleasant, and knowledgeable. He did good work, and I have no complaint about that aspect. My complaint has to do with the cost. It was not made clear to me that the second time Mike came out, there would be an additional charge for two hours of labor. The implication had been that it would be a very quick visit to sand and texturize the patch. The additional $215 charge for that visit was an unpleasant surprise.
Description of Work: I had a wet patch on my ceiling which was caused by a leak in the rubber seal surrounding a vent pipe that went through the roof. Mike replaced the seal, and patched and texturized the damaged ceiling drywall. He had to get up on the roof and also into the attic. He came out twice to finish the job.

The handyman was very professional, on time, executed his work with care and provided top quality service. He didn't leave any mess, either! This home ''to do'' list was hanging over me. It felt great to get everything taken care of in just one day. I'll call Shirey the next time I need the services of a handyman.
