I had made this appointment approximately a week prior.Said he had to go to Home Depot to get parts for one of his other crews and drop somebody off somewhere. I didn't get the feeling they were very organized.

 + 0 moreIt was probably my best experience ever with a contractor of any sort. They were polite, prompt, and did good work. The initial evaluation and bid from Allen was done very promptly, and the price was fair. The electricians who came out were more than cooperative. Several times Ole walked me through my choices in how he could arrange things, and helped me decide. The work was done on time and I'm very happy with it. I will absolutely use Scribner Electric again for some additional electrical improvements and projects I am considering.
Description of Work: We have a 40' x 40' RV Barn about 200' behind our house. It is in the woods and very dark at night. Previously we hired a general contractor to do several remodel activities, including running AC to the barn. Unfortunately, it was one of those nightmare remodeling experiences, ending in firing the contractor with the work partially complete. That was before I knew about Angie's List. Now that I know about Angie's List, I got quotes from electricians listed on A.L. and selected Scribner Electric to do the work. They wired the subpanel for the barn; corrected a mistake the previous contractor had made in a junction box between the main (house) panel and the barn subpanel; wired outlets both inside and outside; hung lights from the high peak ceiling; hung dawn-to-dusk and motion-detector outside lights; and placed outlets that will power garage door openers. While they were out here, they also did some minor replacement and repair on a couple of outlets in the main house. They arranged for the King County Inspector, who came and reviewed their work, approved it and signed off on the necessary permits. The work is now complete, done properly, and complies with KC permit requirements.

We had some difficulty scheduling the appointment but he was considerate in that I had a limited window of time in which to ger this done due to other work in progress. I would recommend this company and would call them again.

 + -1 moreI'm renovating a barn and needed an estimate to run the electric service out to it. He came out but never sent the estimate. I called twice; when I finally got him on the phone (6 weeks later) he told me he'd been out of town for two weeks and then had bronchitis. Since he never mentioned he was going out of town, but said he'd get the estimate to me in a few days, I figured this was a pretty big stretch. If someone can't get an estimate to you, especially without being honest about it, it's not a good sign about how the job would go it you managed to hire them.
Description of Work: None. He never completed the estimate.

 + -1 moreOur house was built with 200 amp service but a small electrical panel. I needed room for a new 240V double-pole breaker/dedicated circuit, and wanted room to grow in the future. Jace Scribner reviewed a few options with me and I decided to go with the simplest approach of replacing the old 20-slot panel with a 40-slot one. I also wanted to add whole-house surge protection in the panel. And as it turned out, a few things had changed in the electrical code since our house was built and needed to deal with that. The work took a day and ended with a new SquareD panel which was installed well, despite some unexpected wiring challenges. It was far more carefully and accurately labeled than what the builder's electrician left behind. Am very pleased with the knowledgeable, professional, personal service I received from Jace and Keenan.

It was very kind, easy to understand and quick call. The advice was spot on and we could start using the electricity in bath rooms in no time.
Description of Work: Some of the outlets in my house stopped providing power. They all are in bath rooms (2.5 of them in my house). I tried to look at the circuit breaker and turned it on and off but it did not solve the issue. He provided instruction to fix this issue over a phone call.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Also helped us by providing recommendations and reviews of the electrical components that we bought online prior to him connecting everything up. We'll definitely use him again for our future projects.
Description of Work: Disconnected power outlets that are now covered by wood panels. Added switches and power outlets in new locations. Connected one switch to the new power outlet so plug-in lights can be turned on and off. Connected switches and dimmers with new built in recessed lights for bar area. Since we opted to replace inexpensive/poorly constructed halogen pendants with new, more reliable, incandesent ones, I needed to pick up new ones. Jace had blocked out time for the same day that I had purchased the replacements and was out to install within an hour of my calling to say I had them in hand. Barely two hours later the job was complete and area cleaned up.

 + -1 moreGreat. Jason is very professional and I would recommend him to anyone needing electrical service in the Woodinville or surrounding area.
Description of Work: Called Jason (Owner) and he was able to work me into his schedule. He was unable to make his first appointment, but called me before the time to let me know and worked to reschedule to the next day. I met him at the house and explained what I had done in conjuntion with the problem. He was able to quickly identify the point of the problem (a bad breaker). Luckily, there was a spare breaker already in the box and he was able to simply move the wiring from the bad breaker to the good one and the circuit worked again. He was also able to recommend solutions to avoid this problem again in the future. This resulted in less time working on the job and a cost savings for me.

 + 0 moreJace was not able to come at the time originally slated, but since we had painters coming the next day, he stopped by on the afternoon of the 20th to replace the dining room light so the painters could do their work in the that room. He completed the remainder of the work on the 21st. He worked cleanly and quickly and was able to not only move all the lights in a timely fashion but also double checked the electrical connections to the light switches which we were uncomfortable with -- they had been done by the previous homeowner and there were switches that went to nothing. The only hitch was an duct running in the ceiling where we had originally wanted a recessed light. We were able to replace the lights and have the work still look good.
Description of Work: Replaced dining room overhead light with new fixture, replaced wall sconce with new fixture, moved the old sconce to new location. Replaced a utilitarian fluorescent fixture with recessed lights.

Check the circuit box and determine that the breaker had flipped. When the breaker was switch on, power was restored to the areas that had gone out. Checked that everything was working correctly.

 + -1 moreJace arrived on time and determined the existing outlet could not be changed to an unswitched outlet so it was necessary to install an additional unswitched one. The outlet had to be installed behind the garbage disposal which made it awkward and difficult. Jace was careful while working even though he was working in close confines. It was necessary to move the dishwasher to make the electrical connections and Jace was careful to replace it in its original position. He also stuck around to make sure the dishwasher was operating right and there were no leaks. I was impressed with his professional manner and patience. He also answered questions I had about this job and possible future projects. Jace was at our house for over two hours but only charged us for two hours as he stated the job would probably take.
Description of Work: We recently bought a water ionizer and needed an unswitched outlet under our kitchen sink. Jace Scribner, the owner, advised over the phone that it could be a quick, simple job to convert the existing switched outlet or it could take about two hours to install an additional outlet.
