He came out and I showed him what I wanted done. I never received a phone call back or any type of follow-up. Apparently my job was either too small or he wasn't interested. If he wasn't, the professional thing to do would be to let the person know. His loss. Would never use him for any other project nor would I recommend him to anyone.

Shinda and his team are very experienced, professional and punctual. This is the second time we have hired him and we would definitely hire him again. He always shows up for meetings on time, and has finished our two projects on time and on budget. The last project had three parts. We had two slopes that have been eroding for a number of years due to a large pit that was excavated into the slope by the last owners of the property, ostensibly for a garage that was never built. They left two eroding slopes and a large pit that was filled with years of construction debris in the back of the property. Shinda and his team built a retaining wall and covered the pit in gravel, making a very nice parking area. The back of the property looks very nice now. The fun part came when Shinda decided to do us a favor and deliver four large boulders from Marenakos (for free) and install them in our front yard. We picked out the rocks and he brought them over. Unfortunately, one of the rocks we selected was not structurally sound and came apart when it was unloaded from the truck. Shinda immediately sent one of his workers back to get us another rock, free of charge. I know this cost him quite a bit of time that he was not planning for. We are really grateful for his excellent customer service and commitment to doing the job right.

My house had very old and very steep slope retaining wall made with railroad ties. The retaining wall is very tall, about 30ft high. It had been slowly collapsing over years. One part of the retaining wall finally collapsed during the heavy rain winter season. Before rebuilding entire retaining wall, I need to remove collapsed retaining wall, and cracked driveway first. After submitting a request form to Angiestlist, the owner (Shinda Sidhu) of Olympic Rockeries and Construction company contacted me on the same day. That was amazing fast response. Shinda came to my site and submit the proposal the next day. The cost estimate was higher than I originally guessed. So, I called two other construction companies to compare the construction cost. They came by my house, but didn't want to work on my site due to the steep slope and risk factor. Anyway, once I signed on the work proposal pager submitted by Olympic Rockeries and Construction company, Shinda promptly contacted City of Mercer Island to get a right of way use permit, and work with the City through the construction time. They completed on the scheduled date at the proposed budget. In addition to that, they kindly put a temporary stairs for us to use before putting new driveway. I am very happy on their professional work, and result. Shinda is very kind and earnest in the whole process. The Olympic Rockeries team worked very hard for about eight hours with their excavator and saws to make the pile manageable for removal by their trucks. They left the site better than when they arrived - even removing the ruts left over by the guys who had cut down all the vegetation on the lot last November. Now, we are ready to plant a cover crop to protect the slope for the rainy season and eventually make a beautiful garden.

Shinda was very responsive when I reached out. He came out and review the job on his own and had a plan and quote before ever meeting in person. While the work was ultimately done very well, I had to reach out and handful of times to solidify schedules. Crew had a tough job ahead of them. Very tight space with little access to our property. Crew was creative, professional and the work is beautiful.

Shinda is the owner and he responded to my help in trying to resolve a sticky situation where couple of the rocks on the large rockery was failing. It was just crumbling to the touch. Esthetically and structurally was not sound. I called lots of people and no one had any practical solutions. They wanted to re stack the whole rockery or it wasn't worth their time. Also the side yard was very narrow and I didn't think anyone can bring in heavy machinery. I thought to just cover up the crumbling rock with concrete. Shinda came and evaluated the situation and gave me a bid right there. It was a relief to finally after 5+ years, to have someone who was willing to take care of the problem that was huge thorn on my side. Anyways he came in the next day with his crew. He was able to squeeze through small BOBCAT through the side yard and replace the failing rocks in a half day. I did not think the result was possible. But these guys removed the bad stone and replaced it with a new one seamlessly. I thought it would require a crane over my roof top to get these results. These guys were very creative and comfortable w rockery problems. Anyways I was very thankful for finally getting this problem off my back. It was lot of money but well worth it for me as I am trying to put the house on the market to sell. Rockery will not be an issue w the new buyer.

I've been so very pleased with the new rockery Shinda and his team installed for me a few weeks ago. Shinda definitely knows his craft and exceeded my expectations. I found Shinda to be professional, knowledgeable, and available throughout the entire process. Would I use his services again? Oh absolutely! Without a question! I've had so many of my neighbors stop by to say how great the new wall looks. My next door neighbor liked it so much that he had one installed in his back yard and it looks awesome too. I had initially contacted Olympic Rockeries just to see if they knew where to pick up some gabion baskets we were thinking about using to replaced a large log retaining wall that was badly deteriorated. Access was limited and thought the baskets were our best and easiest option. Shinda offered to come take a look at our project and was out within a day. After going over the site and discussing the scope of work that needed to be done we decided to go with his idea to replace the logs with a slopping rock wall. We could not have made a better decision. He made a huge daunting task see so easy. The cost was reasonable and time frame in which he completed the project was surprising. I was please by the efficient and professional manner on which Shinda worked. He was extremely expedient and always mindful of our needs. Work went so quickly we had him do another job we had been planning on doing for a while, leveling off and extending an area for a horse arena. Both jobs were completed faster then expected and look amazing. I really enjoyed working with Shinda and I am now thinking of our next project we can work together on. Over the years we have dealt with many unreliable and dishonest contractors, so we know just how expensive and time consuming it can be hiring the wrong one. Don't waste your money and time by going with someone else. Shinda and his crew are extremely reliable, honest, and patient. Above all professionals at what they do.

Simba and his crew were creative and professional. I had several bids from several contractors and Simba was the only one who had the creative ideas to fit my budget. I would highly recommend him and his crews. He was on time, continuously checked in with me to see if they were meeting my needs and coordinated successfully with the tree removal contractor to ensure that the work between crews was coordinated.

Shinda (owner) was very easy to work with. He worked within our budget and got the job done on time. Our old retaining wall was failing and Shinda sent us over a quote promptly (within a few days). Since it was a bit out of our budget we changed the materials and plans around to fit without our budget. Him and a team of 2 to 4 guys were able to put in a ;arge eco block retaining wall within 5 days, amazing! No more water running into our driveway! Shinda even contacted us back to see how the wall was looking after a few days of rain. I am looking forward to working with Shinda and his team again in the near future.

Olympic Rockeries was very attentive to our needs and performed the work on schedule. The minor update to a couple of the cap stones was completed a fews days later, well ahead of expectations. We are very pleased with the details; how the steps are integrated into the wall and the transitions required for the varying height of the surrounding landscape are both done with style. I would definitely call Shinda again for future hardscaping.

I can't imagine how it could have gone any better. Shinda provided me with an estimated start time that would (obviously) depend on the weather. A very nice day (free of rain) presented itself a day earlier than planned, and Shinda was able to schedule his employees and resources to complete the entire job in one day. His staff arrived when they said they would , and they quickly snapped into action. It's obvious they know what they are doing---they are very well coordinated and work well together. They managed the street traffic like pros, and made sure to be respectful of my neighbors' need for an unobstructed driveway at all times. I very much appreciate the time Shinda took when he came out to see the site in order to provide an estimate. We discussed my needs, and he was able to provide recommendations to ensure I got exactly what I needed/wanted, while keeping the costs down. My driveway is AMAZING---much nicer than I anticipated. They really pay close attention to detail. The drive was left cleaner than it was when they arrived. All good stuff to say!

Shinda and Olympic Rockeries were great. They proved us a competitive bid but were the company that was always there to answer questions, We gave them geo-tech engineering plans and city permit and Shinda managed and built everything to spec. Shinda started and completed the project on time. We were extremely happy and would definitely use them again.

Great! They were quick to provide a bid and turned out to be a lower price than another bid I got. Once I decided it was a go they were out within in a week and had the work complete in less than a day. The team that came were polite and quick and knew what they were doing. We love our new driveway, it makes our house look so much better!

Shinda Sidhu performs with knowledge, care and excellent perception. He is organized, visual and a perfectionist. He has done a huge rockery landscape design in May 2013 in our backyard which still mercerizes friends and neighbors. Shinda excavated and regraded our backyard in preparation of a new deck. He built two 4ft x 50ft wide retaining walls to hold up the entire backyard. He also built a cascading rockery landscape and included planters, which are absolutely gorgeous. No task is too hard for him! This would be our second time we have engaged this extremely talented man. The end results are better than we could ever imagine. Shinda has made our yard so much easier to maintain. He knows his stuff. We went through seven different contractors and hired him because we knew we could trust him and expect the best outcome.His men are great and professional. He comes back to check on his project and we love it! Look no more...we have done the work for you. Shinda is CARING, COMPETENT and CONSCIENTIOUS!

It was on sloped ground, thus had to be retained by a rock wall. The work was accomplished in one day and was exactly what I needed.

Shinda did a great job, I got three bids and Olympics was very competitive and they went above and beyond with repairing one rock wall and supporting/saving another wall that was on the verge of collapse.... I would highly recommend them.

We hired Shinda because we were impressed with him from the moment we met him. We were initially planning to have a rockery built in the front yard to create more parking and then at a later point in time we'd have rockeries built in the back yard. Of all the contractors who bid, Shinda was the only one who pointed out that it would be best to complete the back yard first and then the front. That way we wouldn't risk damaging any work done in the front as supplies were taken to the back. He also suggested using the dirt excavated from the front to create the extra patio space we wanted in back of the house (which saved us the expense of hauling the dirt away) and to create a steep slope with a granite staircase down to the lake rather than installing several terraced rockeries (which would have been MUCH more expensive). Shinda is an artist, and he and his crew do beautiful work. He took us out to one of his projects before we hired him and we were amazed at the beauty he could create with rock and dirt! I told him several times throughout the project that we hired him because of the quality of his rockeries and staircases. Some rock walls that I've seen just look messy...Olympic rockeries' walls look like they've been put together by a puzzle-master. Which brings me to customer service. Your complete satisfaction is of the utmost importance to Shinda. He knew how important the look of our rockery was to me so he kept checking back with me to make sure I was happy with the work. And when he found out that we weren't happy with part of the wall he had his crew take it apart and redo it. And while his crew is excellent at what they do, Shinda always comes and puts his finishing touches on a feature when needed. It is amazing to watch him maneuver his heavy machinery and rocks with speed and precision and effortlessly reposition the final rock exactly where it should be. We are very happy to have a wider driveway and more parking along with the natural beauty that rock walls bring. But my favorite feature is my beautiful granite staircase down to the lake...something that I didn't even dream of as a possibility until meeting Shinda and something I certainly wouldn't have had yet if we had gone with a different contractor!

First of all, we really appreciate the communication of schedules and arrival times. The work had to be delayed for a couple days due extreme cold and snow. Shinda called every morning to check on the conditions. The job was well planned and all materials, equipment, and crews arrived on time. We were impressed how quickly and expertly the work was done. At the end of the job the site was nicely cleaned up and repaired where the grass was disturbed.

We decided not to do this project at present. They showed up, gave us a bid and were very nice. We set an appointment with them several days after we called. They showed up professional, took a look around the back yard, asked us what we wanted to do and gave us a rough estimate of what it would cost. They gave us an estimate then and there. We called them back a day or two later and told them we were not going to do the job. The quoted price was about $12,000. It was not an amazing experience where they sat us down and walked us through the process. It felt on par for the course. Their punctuality was great. They were there exactly when they said they would be and made a schedule ahead of time. We called them and they had a guy out ASAP.

Shinda and team came in to our difficult site and delivered on all their promises. Not only did they create a beautiful site for our paddock with a lovely rockery, but they creatively used the excavated soil and deposited it in such a way that we gained 10feet of extra level yard where there was originally a steep slope. Highly recommend.

After having several landscape companies charge me to bid on my property, and then take forever to get me a bid that ended up being almost twice as much, I called Shinda at Olympic Rockeries. He was willing to meet me on a Saturday to view the project. Rather than spending a fortune on drain pipe and stone block retaining walls, as the other companies had advised, Shinda offered me a quote based on a more simple (and ultimately, I think, just as effective) design using boulders to stabilize my steep hillside. Since I am a teacher, my budget for home improvements is limited. Because I was willing to do some of the finishing touches such as planting and digging drain lines myself, Shinda's plan saved me a ton of time and money. Shinda and one partner were all it took. They arrived when promised and completed the work in a timely manner. They maneuvered their loader and excavator with pinpoint precision, driving back and forth along the side of my house without hitting the neighbor's fence or my natural gas meter, even though there was precious little room for error. I will say that unfortunately the asphalt on the side of my house was torn up by their equipment because it was too thin, but I planned to remove and replace that anyway. Nevertheless, I would suggest you discuss with Shinda what might be damaged by his equipment before you begin work. Overall, the crew did an excellent job. The final cost was slightly over the originally quoted price, but that was because of a few additional loads of dirt we needed but hadn't anticipated. I am considering using Olympic Rockeries again when I redo my front yard in the Spring. I was very pleased with the overall quality of work, speed, professionalism, and price.

When we first started thinking about doing this project, we thought "oh this is going to be a messy and expensive job!". But from the very beginning Shinda worked with us to have minimal disruption and get the job taken care of in as few days possible. He was experienced and knowledgeable and helped us figure out what type of replacement wall would work best and within our budget. We were so happy with how the project turned out last year that we have hired him again for another retaining wall project for us this fall. We are really excited to see with his creativity how that turns out! Schindler and his crew did a great job and essentially transformed the yard from a hill and water running down into the house to two level usable sections with drainage directed away from the house. First they excavated the part closest to the house back 15 feet. They took the dirt and leveled the next section up and added a berm at the top to help control runoff from the property uphill. They added a french drain the width of the property at the 15 ft mark with an almost imperceptible slope away from the house to the drain that carries water around the house. Professional, efficient and knew what they were doing it. I definitely recommend them.
