The guy did great work. The priority of those criteria is range. I can manage the punctuality as a B. He was honest to deal with, and did a great job. I am constantly getting compliments on the quality of his work. The tiling. I care about how well the job was done. He didn't always show up when he said he would. I went to the local tile shop and was referred to him. He just worked hard, and did a good job. The tile is all align. He brought up potential problems to me, and if there was I would call up Regina, and found out how she wanted the tile laid. He discussed different options how to lay the tile. He had to lay the granite countertops at an angle, and did a great job at that. It turned out well.

It went terrible, contractor never showed up on time, worked for a couple hours when he did and was fired from job. Also found out he was not licensed or insured.

If this app provided 0 stars, that is how I would rate this contractor. Totally unreliable! Promised start dates three different times, and I HAD TO CALL HIM to find out if he would be there as scheduled. First time: "Oh, sorry, my current job is taking a little longer than expected." Second time: "Oh, sorry, I've been sick." Third time: "Oh, sorry, I guess there was miscommunication." Third time happened after I had actually confirmed the EXACT day he would be arriving. When he didn't show as promised, I HAD TO CALL HIM only to be told that he was "at the beach." BEWARE!!

Mr. Newman did a great job. We are very happy with his work. I recommend him without doubt. he is detail oriented and knows his job.

I would recommend David again for any tile or granite work.

By 11:00 AM he hadn't shown up or called so I left him a text and a voice mail asking when he thought he'd be coming because I had to leave and wanted to make sure we confirmed everything beforehand since we'd talked about adding an additional bathroom floor to the original bid. Finally at 3:00 PM I got a voice message from him saying he was finishing up another job and could come over after that. I told him I would be using someone else because I wasn't interested in doing business with someone who doesn't show up when they say they're going to or at the very least have the courtesy and respect for my time to call and let me know they're running behind... esp. 6 hours. In reading further into the reviews, I saw that this has been an issue with others as well. One person took off work that day to meet him and he never showed up or called. No excuse for that!

The tile looks amazing, and Dave did a great job. He installed glass mosaic tile on all walls from the countertops to the bottom of our cabinets. He squeezed us in to get it done while we were off for Thanksgiving. Although he never specified a start time we were a bit disappointed he didn't show up to start the job until 3pm and then only worked for 2 hours, which meant he had to come back and finish the job the next day. All in all we were very happy with the completed job.

Dave laid 18x18 in travertine tiles with 16th of an inch grout lines in the laundry room and an entry/hallway area. He prepped, laid an uncoupling membrane and the tile. The entry/hallway tile portion of the job was complicated due to the variation of coloration in the travertine, and very little spare material. The laundry room stone color was more uniform. The tile cuts were excellent with little waste. I broke two tiles after they had been cut, Dave repaired them with epoxy such that you can't see the break. He used two additional professionals to complete the job. He was meticulous in ensuring the tiles were ramdomly placed. It looks beautiful. He also placed transition tiles at four doorways, and leveled off the area into the next room to ensure that the new carpet will be at the proper level. We love it! I'm going to hire him again to tile the floor and some walls in the wetroom/bathroom.

Dave did an amazing job tiling our fireplace. Our house was built in 1930 and has settle over time, so the walls of the fireplace were not plumb or square. This made the job difficult but Dave was up to the task. He started by removing the old tile on the fireplace and adding mortar to the areas that needed it to square of the fireplace. Dave then perfectly tiled the walls of the fireplace and put down new tiles on the hearth. He then grouted the fireplace tile and the hearth tile with appropriate colored grout. Dave is not great with the business end of things. He was a little difficult to get a hold of but he always returned my calls (sometimes it took a few days or a week). He was also a little slow getting me an estimate. On the plus side, Dave's estimate was 2.5-3 times cheaper than his competitors!!! He is also a perfectionist when it comes to his tile work. As I said above, our house has settled a little bit and this meant that there was a slope in the floor. I wanted to put quarter round around the outside of the hearth tiles so that it would blend with the floor, which meant that all the hearth tile had to be flush with the quarter round. Dave took the time and effort to make sure each tile was even with the quarter round and level despite the floor issue. Finally, the tiles on the fireplace are hand painted ceramic tile that are very difficult to work with. Dave did not waste a single one! I calculated the exact number of tile needed to cover the fireplace and the ordered 10% more for mistakes and difficult cuts. When Dave was finished, he had used exactly the number of tiles required to cover the fireplace with all 10% of the excess left over. I would use Dave again for any tile work I had and I recommend him without reservation.

Mr. Newman was unable to make the first appointment and rescheduled. During the appointment, Mr. Newman was professional in providing his opinions regarding the remodel effort. We were to receive a detailed quote from Mr. Newman for the bathroom remodels, but never did. If he did not want to do the job, he could have just said so...a no quote is better than silence.

I wanted to share our recent experience with David and his assistant Greg who did our tile work. I emailed 5 different tile contractors that I found on Angie's List the drawings & all the measurments of our Master bathroom remodel for an estimate. Dave is the only one that requested to come to our home to take his own measuremnents & see what he would be working with. In total I received 4 estimates included the one from Dave. They were all within $1000 of each other. Dave was the lowest. I don't always pick the lowest but since he's the only one I had met face to face & that he had excellent reviews I picked him. We are very satisfied with the work they did in our master bathroom. The work is very professional and with lots of attention to detail. David installed a shower pan and curb and then tiled it all in using epoxy grout. (which ishard to work with). He also did the floor and the wainscot in tile. He also installed a heating system under the floor tile. He also built to large niches. SO NICE!! The grout line are very straight & consistent. Our plumber commented on how great it looked. He ask for Dave's name & # as he said he sees a lot of tile jobs but rarely as good as this one. He also installed several grab bars, a seat & helped us mount the towel warmer since it had to be screwed through the new tiles. Dave took a lot of care in the last finishing touch to make sure we were happy & that everything looked great. We are very happy with the results. The work was completed rapidly also. They don?t usually show up in the mornings, although Dave would tell us everyday that he would come in the morning. I think he uses the mornings for organization time but arrived each day in the early afternoon and worked hard. So if you can live with that you will not be disappointed if you hire him. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

We have contacted them multiple times and never heard from them after the initial visit. We called and waited for days and never heard back. He just never got back to us with an estimate and it was a very frustrating delay.

The great thing about Dave is that he took a simple job and kept it simple. No drama, great work done at a great price.

Dave was great to work with. You can tell he pays attention to the details and the final product shows it. We had some unexpected discoveries during the demo portion of the project and he was accommodating and the cost was reasonable. He was also flexible with working on loud stuff around our son's nap times. The only issues we had with Dave were him consistently arriving at expected start times. It wasn't a big deal to us but I could see it being problematic for some.

Called and left two messages, sent an email, no response. Business must be good. I get the message, but a call back would be the professional way to say you don't need another job.

We had Dave tile another bathtub and vanity in 2011. He and his crew do very nice tile work and in both jobs we are very happy with the finished product. Dave is easy to work with and gives honest opinions when asked. He is busy and getting to his various jobs sometimes causes him to not show up when expected. He is a bit of a perfectionist in his work and will keep at it until he thinks it is right and we are satisfied. He charges for labor, backerboard, and grout only and we paid for all the tile and fixtures and the plumber to redo the plumbing in the shower. He provided me with several tile suppliers to look at and we were able to purchase the tile using his discount. He picked up the tile and brought everything to the job. I bought all the fixtures and sink at Home Depot and Dave installed them. He does go out of his way to make sure his customers are happy with the job and we are.

It went great. He was very professional and quick. I had the materials already, just needed the expertise. He showed up, examined what I wanted and went to work. Put down his drop cloth and pick it up with all the dirt, left nothing behind. It wasn't a big job, maybe 20sq ft, but he was happy to do it. I would highly recommend him for future projects.

We were not a hurry for the work to be done, so it was ok with us if Dave's time was split between ours and other jobs. Inspite of this, I still feel he was very quick and the bathroom is just beautiful. The floor tile is marble and he suggested using the same material for baseboards (we were going to use wood). This small touch really, made a difference so we are grateful for his suggestion. He also built a threshold between the bathroom floor and wood floor of the hallway, by beveling the marble for a soft transition. It is just lovely. He also kept everything clean and went to much trouble to make sure there was no dust left behind Even when sawing outside Dave and his helper would rake and sweep to clean up.

Excellent service. Prompt. Gave us a "senior discount" I already submitted a full review within a few days of service. It appears on Newman Tile page. I keep getting e-mails from you asking for me to complete the survey. I have called, mentioning the above, and the Angie's rep. agreed.

This was my second time using David Newman and his team to install porcelain tile and epoxy grout (see my previous review). I called Dave again because of the perfect job they did two years ago in a master bath installing 250 ft. of tile. Dave and his team are professional craftsmen all the way who are experienced working with epoxy grout, which can be tricky if you don't know the procedures. They also will respect your home by making sure rugs and floors are covered before beginning work. Dave is also reasonably priced. If you think you can save a little money think about this: Before meeting Dave, I had a previous failed job from another company that was an absolute nightmare of uneven, crooked tiles and uneven, pitted grout which all had to be removed and re-done. My advice is to pay Dave his fair price and you won't be sorry! Dave did pre-planning on measurements, discussions of location of soap box, and tile height, answering all of my questions and giving his professional input. He is very responsive to e-mails and phone calls. He's a perfectionist (a great quality to have!) who will make sure everything is right, including grout color. Dave and his team again took extra time and care with this install to make sure everything was level and cutting the diagonal tile to fit around the corners in the room. I chose porcelain tile that looks like natural, polished,Travertine marble. Because of Dave's perfect cutting, install, and grouting the result is a classic, perfect, seamless look. He was fantastic. The price he gave was extremely reasonable and I think the quality of the work was a topnotch tile professional. It was very clean which was very impressive. It was redo of a fireplace, he converted it from gas to electric which was our choice, so we had an electrician prior and he was able to just really give us a complete look. It was wonderful. We were very happy.

Newman Tile & Stone were very conscientious. Dave Newman really understands tile and what it can and can't do. He was very thorough at laying out the tile. The fireplace now looks beautiful. The fireplace is really nice and he added a personal touch for me. He asked what it looked like and when I showed him he said he could do it. I would say his service was fantastic. He was delayed by Lowes being 6 weeks late with my tile delivery, but that wasn't his fault. He's As across the board for me and I would use him again.

This is the second job Dave has done for us. He installed heated flooring with porcelain tile in a small bathroom. We did the removal of the old flooring and purchased the tiles. Dave provided all other supplies. The floor looks absolutley beautiful. The termostat he provided is top of line.The job was done on time. There were no unexpected snafus. We will definintely contact Dave again when we have tiles needs in the future.

Newman Tile & Stone has great pricing and does excellent workmanship. We hadthem replace our shower and they were on time, on budget and the end result was as exactly what we wanted. I would have no problem recommencing Dave and his company.
