NEW LEAF CREATIONS

Steve has great. He was very responsive, a good communicator - by phone, email, and in person - and easy to work with. He came out to take measurements, reviewed a landscape design and provided a quote with a variety of option to help meet our budget requirements. We received four bids for this work, and New Leaf's was in the middle. We would still recommend New Leaf and believe they would have done a great job.

Steve did a great job in designing the type of landscape that we were looking for -- low maintenance, water conserving, and using a varied mix of native plants, including several that we specifically requested. The finished look is a beautiful blend with flowering, evergreen, and deciduous plants combined to give it a unique Pacific Northwest look. Due to scheduling challenges from the job before ours, work didn't begin as soon as we had hoped, but once started, it went well. The work crew was great -- friendly and hard-working. We enjoyed all our interactions with them. Steve was always happy to answer questions, and he stopped by often to make sure everything was going as expected. It was a pleasure doing business with Steve, and we plan to have him install a water feature to complete our new landscaping this spring.

Steve H came highly recommended and I do not doubt his team would of done a great job. There were a few reasons why we decided to cancel the work and go with another landscaper. First was lack of a 'real' contract that detailed the work, the responsibilities, the crew, plan recommendations, estimated time to completion, etc. What I actually signed was a one page estimate of the cost. Steve said he's always worked this way, but I was not at all comfortable with that level of informality. The second reason was the huge delay from time we first talked mid-September 2013. From that time on we talked in email and met 1-2 in person. I tried to get a start date but was told they were waiting to finish a large job which kept getting delayed - and delayed and delayed. I understand he wanted to get paid for this bigger job instead of my $5000 job but we felt we were being strung along. The communication was also quite poor and not up to my standards. Emails generally took days or weeks to reply. At one point his computer (only computer??) failed and that caused a long disruption in communication. I found it hard to believe anyone can run a business without planning for the inevitable crash. We liked what we heard when we talked to Steve in person, and his references are great but when looking at the big picture it just left us very unsure that this was the best decision. We formally canceled the contract mid-January and I quickly found another landscaper who provided exactly the level of detail and level of communication that I wanted from day 1. As of Feb 3 we now have a beautiful front yard after a year of talking to 8 landscapers.

Could not be happier. Steve H. and his team are real pro's. Supervisor was on-site everyday. Met with Steve live every week and could get him on the phone any day I needed to speak with hi. Worked through rain, freezing temps, you name it..without missing a beat. We will be using them in the front yard come spring time.

I have a long narrow strip above a rockery and it borders the curb along the front of the house. I had an old hedge removed by another company prior. I did not know what to plant in this narrow strip, but needed something to divide the road and my property. Steve came out and gave me ideas on what types of plants would fit the space and not loose it's leaves. His suggestions of dwarf rhodies, small grassy things and pirus type of plants (a total of 9 in all) , along with 5 small heather in another area, and an accent tree by the walkway (it's some type of droopy evergreen that looks like and quot;Cousin Itand quot;. Sorry i cant remember all the names of the plants. They also put in this nice beauty bark, not the chunky stuff. I was very impressed with Steve's instant vision and ideas. They work great in this space, and his crew were great as well, They were punctual and it took about 2 hours to complete. I thought the price of 1,200 including all the plants and bark was reasonable. This was not a large job, but i wouldn't hesitate in using Steve again, and i think i will soon.

They do great work. They are very responsive. Every time we have a question, a change or suggestion, the owner gets back to us. He is very good about trying to understand our needs.

We have a big yard and we pay $200 a month for the maintenance. They are fantastic. Steve was very professional. He put great plans together. He actually put a great big plan together because we are doing it in phases because we decided that we didn't want to spend all the money right away. He was very flexible with it and had great pictures to show us. He knows what he is doing and what plants will work in our yard. It was a very positive experience and he had great recommendations. We didn't do a lot of comparison shopping.

Steve has a good eye for what needs to be done to make it look just right. It took a while to get it going as other jobs seem to run over and put ours back, but they are worth the wait.

We initially met with Steve to get some ideas for what we could do to replace the dying cedars that bordered our corner lot. He did that, and he was ready to either leave us with the plan if we wanted to implement it ourselvers, or do the work. Steve took our suggestions and created a low maintenance, northwest-looking front and back yard. Steve took our budget and ideas into account and came up with a great design. Before the project was completed, we moved away and rented out our home, but I got periodic updates and pictures from Steve so we could keep up with the goings on. Steve gave us options we hadn't considered before, such as a sprinkler system, re-orienting the entry to our home--they added to the cost of the project, but we were very happy with the choices. we did not feel coerced into making the changes, just that Steve brought more options to us as the project progressed. We are so happy with our yard(s)--it's definitely one of the nicest in the neighborhood. I have very poor gardening/landscaping skills and not much time, so we use New Leaf Creations for yard maintenance. The guys are great and reliable. Our yard is in terrific hands. The project did end up costing more than initially budgeted and it took longer to start than we first thought, but the work is great, we get lots of compliments on the yard, and we love it. When we drive up to the house at night and see just the right spots lit up and the new orientation of the front, we are so glad we did it.

We enjoyed working with Steve from our first meeting to the completion of our project. We described what we wanted and Steve delivered. The new landscaping is absolutely gorgeous. Steve and his crew are real pro's at transforming a yard into art work. Steve consulted with my wife on rock and plant placement and we got exactly what we were looking for in our landscape. We have three more phases to our yard remodel and we look forward to having New Leaf Creations back to complete those phases.

Steve met with me to discuss the job and returned several weeks later with a couple of alternative landscape plans. Once we decided on a design, New Leaf began the job in mid August. Because they were busy, it took a while for them to begin. It took them approximately seven weeks to complete the job. They were not fast but they were always good about calling if they were not going to show up and to let us know when they would be back. The quality of New Leaf's work and the materials they have used has been great. They have met their bid price and been very responsive to any suggestions or requests. The crew was always good about keeping the jobsite clean and they have been quick to repair any damage (minor) that occurred during the job. Overall, working with Steve and his crew has been a good experience.

Steve was very cordial. He faxed an estimate promptly. His estimate was 400% of what I am currently paying.
