Arrived when they said they would, did what they said they would for the price they quoted. What more could I ask? Conscientious, professional and thorough. I'll be a return customer.

Alex and his crew showed up on a quite cold day with more than just a bit of snow, ice and slush on the ground after a recent snowfall. The crew was fast and efficient, and the job was done in way less time that I expected. The snow, ice and slush made it difficult for the crew to clean things up the way they wanted. Alex went out of his way to apologize to me for that, but it was obviously out of his control. I'd definitely do business with them again.

The crew worked efficiently and did a lot of hard work. They hauled everything away, and left everything in tip top shape. I got solicited and unsolicited bids from a number of companies, all of which came in higher and for services I didn't need (Matt's did not solicit nor landed unannounced, I called them and they scheduled a consultation shortly after)

They were great to work with, the crew worked efficiently and carefully, and they did a very good job of cleaning up the debris. It was a complicated tree removal (power lines, another tall tree to work around, damaged roof) and they organized and got it done in a matter of hours. The whole process went very smoothly and was accomplished with no mishaps or additional damage to the house. A huge shout-out to Matt’s Tree Service - I highly recommend them!

Gave a clear estimate after in person review of the work needed; scheduling was easy and painless, the trees were taken down on a Monday and stump grinding done the same week on Friday. Crews were fast and cleaned up well.

These guys are straight pros. Fist they set up a bid, then they sent a professional email with proof of license/bonding to give me peace of mind. Then they showed up right when they said they would. It was pouring rain, but that didn't stop the crew one bit. The work they were able to do in 4 hours was mind blowing. Removed two 50 foot cedars and a pear tree and left my driveway cleaner than it was before. The price was super reasonable too. For the amount of machinery, guys and equipment they needed to do the job, I thought is was a great value. Couldn't recommend Matt's Tree Service any more highly.

Matt's Tree Service came to our home to cut branches off 5 very large trees. The crew is knowledgeable, very nice, and cleaned up all of the debris perfectly. The customer service is wonderful I would highly recommend them, we will be using them again in the near future for another project as well! Thank you for a great experience!

They did great. They brought in a crew of 4 people, were here on time, took down the tree and cut the trunk into fireplace sized rounds. Did a great job of cleaning up the area and were out by early afternoon. I would definitely use them again.

Setting up the appt went well. I used Angie's list to contact them. Someone communicated back right away. I then had two telephone conversations with the office ladies who reassured me that I was in their service area - no mention of $$ for travel to my home. They were responsive and very nice. they were able to set up the appt quickly. Both of the times I spoke with the ladies in the office they both asked for a a list of things that I needed done and i told them (taking down one pine tree, pruning trees front and back, pruning large cypress hedge, advice on why three trees were dying, etc. ). I have a lot of trees on the property. Gentleman who came out was friendly. He was parked in the front so we started talking about what i needed in the front. He told me pretty quickly that they would need to charge me for a service call (??~100.00) b/c of where I lived and then he told me that it had taken him over an hour to get to my home. I said "okay". Then I started to talk about things and he seemed disinterested in them: my large hedge, the pine tree, the cherry tree, the four lilac trees, and the dying trees. he looked around while i was talking to him and then asked if i had anything 'bigger.' ?Bigger? Apparently cutting down something bigger would help to save me money - something about the travel/service fee... Knowing how much it costs to cut down a large tree it seemed to me it was about making it more worth their while - versus saving me money. Unfortunately, he hadn't even set foot in the back yard. and he had no idea how much money i was willing to spend to have the work done. I felt minimized, inadequate, and underestimated I knew i wouldn't use their services so i ended the estimated. if there are travel charges I would ask that this be disclosed up front. Also, the services provided on the Angie's listing are not limited to cutting down big trees. i found this confusing when the gentleman asked if I had anything 'bigger' to cut down and especially after telling them twice before the estimate what I needed to have done.

We had a very positive experience with these guys! Alex, Noel and really the whole crew were fantastic. They were very professional and pleasant to work with. This was a difficult job since the trees were near our drain field and many other plants - the took great care to avoid any damage. When we discovered a sprinkler line had been cut (almost impossible to avoid given the layout) they had someone out to fix it within 24 hours. I would highly recommend this company. Btw - Noel is the most skilled tree climber I've ever seen - he's amazing.

The initial communications by phone felt frustrating. It often seemed that there wasn't anyone in the office because I had to call a few times before getting a call back. My first contact was with Aaron, who came by to find out what I wanted done. He was very warm and friendly, listened carefully, told me how important my business was, and then gave me a bid on the spot: $595+$100 (free-climbing)-10% (senior discount)+tax, which was the most competitive bid I had received. I told him it was important to have the work done before July 4 -- so that I could minimize the fire danger--and he said that doing the work before the 4th was no problem. True to Aaron's word, a crew showed up promptly at 8:00 a.m. on July 2. and they completed everything by 9:30--including a thorough cleanup. I was delighted by the results and would gladly hire Matt's again. ========== P.S.: One thing that bugs me is that Matt's appears to offer a 10% senior discount and a 10% Angies list discount. But the reality is that you can't get both: it's one or the other--which isn't clear on their Angies List page.

The service was prompt, courteous, and attentive to our input. The staff and crew showed all the earmarks of dedicated, experienced, customer-oriented professionals. They understood what we wanted and made it happen with results that showed a fine sense of proportion based on experience.

Matt's came out and gave me a very reasonable quote. I agreed. The next day they were promptly on the job when they said they would be. Their climber is awesome, I actually missed a meeting at work because I was hypnotized by watching him cut down two close trees, back and forth, after climbing one of them and reaching out with his saw for the other. . He dropped the trees in an amazingly small space (in sections), avoiding a drain field, several ornamental trees, an arbor, etc. The job was completed quickly and exactly as described. The crew cleaned up the branches and chipped them. I couldn't be happier.

This company was a pleasure to work with. Matt's Tree Service followed up my "Angie's List" email to them with both an email and a phone call. I was able to schedule Alex for an estimate within the next few days. When Alex came out, he was friendly and professional. He made some suggestions for my cherry tree and then gave me a verbal quote. I received an email with an official quote with the same price later that day. Another company had quoted almost 200% more for just the cherry tree, so I felt very good about Matt's Tree Service's pricing. I emailed to accept the quote and was called by the office the next day to schedule. The crew, headed by Noel, arrived on time and were quick and efficient. After taking down the willow and working on the cherry, Noel asked me to come out to talk about a few things on the cherry. The finishing touches done, the crew had all the limbs chipped, debris cleaned up, blew off the driveway and street, and were out of here in less than 1.5 hours total. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

They were fantastic. They're very fast, very sanitary and friendly. We have another contract and they were willing to do that and it's all good. They were competitive.

It was a big windstorm night. They fit us in and let us know when they could come out. They communicated as requested. They arrived as expected and did a quick job of taking care of all the tree parts. We were very pleased with their work and would recommend them to our friends.

Matt's crew arrived on time the day the work was scheduled. Their work was professional and quick. They removed four large fir trees between our house and my neighbor's house in a about a 10 foot wide area and next to my neighbor's fence. They first removed (and replace when the job was complete) four sections of my neighbor's fence. They then cut and lowered with ropes each tree's limbs and using their chipper ground up the limbs. Then the foreman climbed each tree and cut approximately 3-4 foot sections and lowered or dropped the sections to the ground. The sections were hauled away with a small cat and loaded into their truck. They put down plywood on the lawn to protect the lawn from the cat treads. Matt's careful work made sure there was no damage to my house or my neighbor's. The tree removal including cleanup was professional and completed in less than one day. They came back the next day with a machine to grind the four remaining stumps. That work was also professional and took less than a day to complete. We would definitely recommend Matt's Tree Service for tree removal services.

This company does a very professional job. The team showed up within the two-hour window of their appointment and the crew lead took great care in pruning my paperbark cherry tree while his two assistants made quick work of the saplings and pine bush that I wanted removed. I appreciated that they wore hard hats and used safety gear when climbing the big trees. Not only were they careful around our sprinkler system, which I had pointed out, they managed to completely take down the huge weeping willow without even cutting any part of the azaela that wrapped around the trunk which was a pleasant surprise. All the other work I needed went well, too, as they had the right tools for each job. They were careful throughout my garden as they hauled all the pieces to the curb and cleared every leaf and branch from the gravel paths. All the chipping was done very quickly all at once which I appreciated as I don't like to have to disturb my neighbors with a lot of noise. I couldn't find a chip or leaf to sweep up when they were done. As a bonus, I got great advice from the lead about how I can prune my lilac.

We used Matt's Tree Service several years ago and we very happy with their work. When we needed more tree work done this year, we contacted Matt's Tree Service as well as several other companies. The quote from Matt's Tree Service was competitive so decided to go with them again since we were happy with them previously. Now that the work is completed, we are pleased with our choice. The work crew arrived on time and the crew chief did a walk through with us on what was to be done. The crew did a beautiful job on everything we had discussed. Several times, I saw the crew chief climbed down from the tree he was working on and view his work from different angles to make sure that his work looked good aesthetically. On a couple of occasions, my wife changed her mind and asked for the trees to be trimmed lower, and the crew happily obliged. From talking to the crew chief, it was clear to us that he was very knowledgeable about trees. He knew where to cut the branches so that the trees look good later on. While the crew was working, a neighbor came by and asked if we could trim a tree which was blocking their views. The crew from Matt's Tree Service was able to accommodate the additional work for an additional reasonable fee. Matt's Tree Service cleaned up very well after their work. We are pleased with their work and we would certainly hire them again should we need tree work in the future.

I am very confident on there work, I never watch them to see if gets done, how I wanted. You are a fool if you don't try them.

This is a cheerful crew who do excellent work for a bargain price. And I can be very picky! It went even better than I hoped for. My only advice is to make sure they know your scheduling needs. My situation was largely flexible but I had to sandwich the stump grinding activity between a sidewalk demolition and replacement project. Matt's Tree Service came through for me to allow the sidewalk contractor to stay on a tight schedule. They own a monster stump grinder that can go deep, and offer that service competitively priced with the specialist grinding services. I had a 30+" Douglas Fir stump along with other large stumps, all of which had thick roots. Since I'm turning the area into a front lawn, I needed a skilled operator with that kind of machine to get the needed result.

When one of the very tall poplars in our backyard came down in a storm we knew it was time to take the other 14 out as well. We used Angie's List to check out a number of services and had three come out to do estimates. Matt's came out the lowest estimate, but was also, ironically, the most flexible and willing to work with our situation. When one of the other guys we were talking to actually ended up recommending him we were sold. They came out, had all the trees down in a day then came back the next to clear the debris and grind down the stump. Absolutely no problems, he was even willing to come out and talk to our neighbors so they would be comfortable with his using their yard to access the trees. Area looks great, everything larger than a twig was hauled off. I really can't say enough good things about these guys, they did everything they said they would. They were on time and fast, and they were by far the lowest price of all the services we investigated. I'd use them again in a second.
