KDS Painting

Should be a field to fill out for "Did not use this business, therefore, I have no comments on anything." I used Angie's list to communicate and we both missed emails and therefore deadlines. I would communicate directly with the provider in the future and eliminate the frustration.

Slow in responding to begin with. They sent somebody out and again I did not hear from them.

could not get a bid. he came out and looked it over and said he would get back to us with a bid, but he never did.

Took a while to complete because we had two rain storms in the middle of their work. I feel they did a great job and spent more hours than they got compensated for.

Aside from the fact that the 1 day project turned into 2 because the painter (co-owner) thought I was a stay at home mom and he could com back the next day and finish, it did not go very well. Yes he eventually got the job done however there is so much overspray. He even asked me for wall paint so he could paint over some of the overspray before leaving. Sloppy work or sloppy prep? Who knows. There were 2 iPods that were on a table that he covered with plastic and about 3 feet away that have over spray on them. Pictures frames in the hallway, walls, wood trim on the floors, etc. All with overspray. I really liked the guy that I was working with, so it is such a disappointment that we did not find a painter that we can trust.

The cost of their services was $3200. So far it's going very good.

That experience turned out to be fine. They were at the house for a few hours. They pressure washed the driveway. We did have a scheduling issue, and I had to reschedule one time.

Communication started off very well. The provider was very responsive and friendly. Unfortunately after the date above, all communication ceased. Not sure what happened.

The service turned out very well. They pressure washed the driveway, walkway and back patio. They were very prompt and responsive. The contractor who came out did a thorough job and was very professional. Scheduling was very easy.

Terrible experience but thank you Angie's list for my refund.

I purchased a Angie's deal from Angie's list for KDS painting. I paid $249 for 8 hours of painting. I have sent this provider 3 emails using the email he provided and sent him 2 messages through Angie's list and have not had a reply. I've asked for a refund, but at this point I'm afraid that is $249 that I'll never see again.

Darren came out to see our house on April 28 and said his brother, Kevin, would get us a bid by Friday or Saturday May 2 or 3. We received no bid. I then called and spoke to Darren on the phone on May 12th and he could not find any of my information and he asked for all my contact information over again, our address and so forth. He said they would get the bid to us that day. It is now June 2nd and we still have not received a bid.

He came out and discussed the price. I have tried to reach him via phone and email multiple times each week since without success. I want to start work as soon as possible.

Not well! Communication was the big factor. When setting up the initial appointment,by email, we received a reply that made no sense to us and did not address our query. Eventually Kevin emailed us and explained the cryptic message and we set up three tentative times for the service. We put in three separate dates as requested one for April, one for May and one for June however, Kevin never called or emailed us as to what date would work for him. Finally, in May, I called Kevin to set a date and got his message service. I gave him my home phone number and said 'd like to set up a date for the painting. This was on the 27th of May. My wife received a phone call from someone who did not identify himself nor did he state what he was calling about. As we receive many calls from solicitors, we felt that this was one of them. He also butchered the last name and made no attempt to correct himself. My wife hung up! The next day, I called Kevin back to set up a time and see if it was him that called. I again got his message service but was told that the message box was full and I couldn't leave a message. That was it! I cancelled the offer. He may be a great guy and a great painter but communication is lacking!

I bought a great painting (so I thought) in the beginning if May. I called and emailed the company a handful of times but still have heard nothing! Frustrated!!!

I talked to Kevin, who is very nice. The pressure washing is really a come on for getting their foot in the door for painting. Kevin's brother Darrin came out to give me an estimate on painting the house. I had an obligation to have a friend/ contractor do the painting so I did not use them. I called to have KDS pressure wash my fences that I am painting myself. I gave a few dates and have not heard from them. I've had someone else pressure wash and would like a refund for the $167 that I paid for the DEAL. Thanks. Helen Kearny

They were very fast to come look at my house after I bought a Big Deal exterior house painting package. We agreed at the time of the visit that I wanted a few extras that they would add on to the Big Deal in an additional estimate. That never came, and after 3 weeks of waiting without an estimate it was pretty clear that they were not going to follow through. I had to go through the hassle of getting the Big Deal refunded and finding another painter.

After the paint dried, it looks good, however there is a lot of overspray that we need to clean up.

I've used the KDS crew in the past for my current home, but this time, I asked them to come out and refresh the paint across 6 rooms in my rental home + 5 interior doors. They were able to fit me in on the 2 days I had, with only one month's notice!! :) The crew (Dylan & Robert) showed up on time and ready to start!!! I had all of the paint purchased already and they immediately were able to tell me if I needed to purchase more and what "paint types" to get. Dylan immediately took the lead and was sure to double check Robert's work and would call him in when he saw a flaw. The guy is seriously a perfectionist, it's wonderful! They are so incredibly efficient, accurate and reliable. The paint lines are crisp, full and truly brought the house back to life. Once again, KDS provided personable service with clear painting professionals. I always appreciate their keen eye for details, their agility with the project & incredible results! Thanks Kevin, Darrin, Dylan & Robert!! You guys rock!

KDS was VERY slow to respond to my purchase of their deal. It tool multiple phone calls and emails for them to call back. Kevin did come to my house to see what needed to be done, but has become unresponsive again when trying to schedule a date for the work. I give up!

They did an excellent job with the painting. I also really appreciated their willingness to move furniture and put everything back before leaving. They were willing to do extra rooms for a reasonable rate. I would use them again.

I purchased a Big Deal for $249 for an interior painter for the day. The owner came out and was not feeling well to get the estimate. He sent the painter to paint a few days later, he did not show up with enough paint. Our walls were very dark and it was going to take a few coats to get the job done. The painter had to leave and go to the store two different times to get more paint. He was so wired on caffeine, he broke some light bulbs. We really wanted this day to go smoothly and it was very uncomfortable; he had his music up loudly the entire day. His painting was good, but he did forget to paint the baseboard heaters.

Although we had a small communication glitch, I was very satisfied with the work done.

Got what we wanted. Took a long time and did it right. Very pleased.

Because of newly installed cabinets, a lot of hand work was required. Dylan did a great job. I hired them for follow-on work (painting stair rails & banister) because I was happy with the initial work. Will definitely use for future painting jobs.
