Andrew, the owner, is super professional, thorough and thoughtful. We heard scampering in our attic and found droppings, so we called Aria Environmental based on a recommendation. Andrew came out a few days later and identified squirrels in our attic. After examining the perimeter of our house and attic, he set up traps (live traps per our request) and came up with an abatement plan. He installed metal flashings to block the gaps between the soffets and our roof which took about 2 days. He also used an enzyme treatment to sterilize and remove odors in the attic. All had been quiet since. He's a great communicator, punctual and conscientious and we highly recommend him!

Aria Environmental is always responsive when I call and very professional. I trust their expertise and I know their dedication to a job well-done, especially the tough jobs. The crawlspace clean-out they accomplished for me in 2014 was AMAZING!! I regret not posting a review at the time. [I selected 3 companies from Angie's List for onsite quotes & Aria Environmental was the clear choice!] Anyone who lives near a greenbelt, forest, or wild park knows the persistence of the forest rats - ugh. I am glad to do business with Aria & have recommended them also to neighbors & local business owners.
Description of Work: To maintain a clean crawlspace, the Aria employee checked the house's foundation perimeter -- he found 1 long wall where the dirt was softer & the rats had started tunneling. He gave me an estimate for a gravel/concrete trench -- I agreed. It came out really well -- the soil covers that layer & there have been no issues since. Also, he did a walk through the whole crawlspace looking for any breaches (none) and checked the status of the traps (none). I am not posting the "approx. cost" because it's not part of this review.

Initially, I was very impressed. Art and his team responded quickly. He was very informative on the cause of the problem and walked me around the house to show me the areas of interest. He was precise on his action and plan. The current rodent problem was isolated to our crawl space, but their was evidence of past problems in our attic. Therefore, Art recommended sealing off some exposed entry points along our roof line. The total estimated cost was $300-400. His team was prompt and courteous during the initial clean up. Art returned the next week to check the traps and seal off exposed areas. At the follow-up, he checked the traps, but had an excuse as to why he couldn't seal off the exposed areas that day and promised he would do it next time. This was repeated for several weeks to almost 2 months. At times, I wasn't present for his visit. I never received a follow-up call in these cases. After several days, I would call to ask what was done and was given the same answer that the traps were empty but he didn't have time to finish closing off exposed areas. I felt like the process was being drawn out longer than necessary and finally told Art that we were tired the repeated visits. I requested that he finish the sealing of the areas we discussed and give us an invoice. The total cost was double the original quote. I learned my lesson and now know to ask for a written quote before any work is done. Thanks for teaching me that lesson, Art.
Description of Work: Art removed a rodent problem from our crawl space then sealed up exposed areas of possible re-entry to prevent further problems.

We had a very negative experience with Aria Environmental. Initially we called them in because we were experiencing bug bites, and it turned out we had rats in our basement and the bugs were rat mites. Overall an awful situation, and we were depending on an exterminator to locate the source of the rats and get them out of the house as quickly as possible. At first it seemed to go OK, as Aria (actually, it's just one guy, Art) arrived promptly and did what appeared to be a thorough (and free) inspection and estimate. They charged us over $1000 to seal off various entry points into the house, but they were sloppy and missed some spots. The bugs and the rats continued. A few areas they cleaned up become re-infested, and they kept telling us there wasn't much they could do, as the rats must be getting in via some "hidden" spot, and we'd have to tear our walls down to find them. They wanted to charge us over $1000 to take down our basement ceiling to look for them; we had our handyman do it for $200. Still they couldn't find anything. This went on for months and months. Finally our handyman took 5 minutes to pry up a board on the outside of the house and found the spot by the dryer vent. He plugged it up and problem solved. Aria took no responsibility at all for their failure. They took the attitude that it was OK for our infestation to go on for months. We just had another company come in to do a re-inspection and they told us that some of the materials Aria used for screening were subpar and needed to be replaced, at a cost of over $300. Avoid these guys.
Description of Work: Inspected the house for rodents, then attempted to seal off entry points.

Art came by the house for our free quote (another service told me they charged $75 to come out for a bid - really??), and took a thorough look around the outside of our house to assess potential entry points for various types of animals. He didn't find any rat droppings so assumed that we were looking at a squirrel (given our location, other options were not as likely). He came by a couple of days later to survey our whole roof from atop the house and showed us pictures of where we might be vulnerable. Thankfully there was only one clear spot for a squirrel to enter and Art was able to put out a trap and a one way valve to get the little guy out of there. He noted other potentially vulnerable areas and is coming back in a week to check the trap and seal those other small vulnerabilities. We haven't heard any noises from the attic, so assume our visitor has moved on to greener pastures. Art's initial bid was $300 - 500 depending on how many times he had to come back. If we didn't have him repair the other small vulnerable places, we would have owed him only $250, but since he's coming back with a few items of repair, we will finish at $350 all in. Art was super responsive, clean (had booties to wear in the house and insisted on doing so, even when I told him it didn't matter), knew his business cold, and I thought it was great that he came in under-budget for the animal removal. I'm thrilled that it's only $100 additional to make the other minor fixes. I would definitely recommend Art and Aria.
Description of Work: We knew we had an animal in our eaves/inaccessible attic and called Art at Aria.

A friend who had rats in her chicken coop (not her belfry) referred me to Aria. Alex Martinez was prompt and well informed about the habits of squirrels and their potential entry points. He quickly identified the specific entry point of the squirrel that was in the wall burrowing into my house. We knew the squirrel had made it inside because he had chewed and scratched at an indoor tree. Alex baited and set traps in and outside., and came out checked them the next week. We could hear or see no more squirrel action for a week or so. until we slept in one Saturday morning. When I came down midmorning to make coffee, there was a big bold squirrel in my living room! I rushed upstairs to call Alex while my husband kept an eye on the squirrel, who backed up in front of the TV and maintained constant eye contact. Even tho he's based in Issaquah, Alex had told me to call him immediately in this case. He was at my house in 10 minutes with a helper! They used a big locking fishnet to flush the squirrel out from under the couch, and took him off to Tiger Mountain where he (and we) will be happier. When Alex came to check again he showed us other things we could do to deny squirrel access, like trimming the big trees that overhang the roof. So we got an Angie'sLis Big Deal for that and things have worked out well. Alex was a friendly and humorous guide on this adventure, and we'll be sure to call hime if the need arises again.
Description of Work: Evaluation of potential entrance points for squirrel that was burrowing inside the wall of my old house. Setting and checking traps.Educated me on squirrel habits and hazards. Closed all the possible entry points in, on and under my house, securing gutters and roofing in the process.Responded to an urgent call when squirrel appeared. Took squirrel and set free out east of Issaquah.

What's great about these guys is that everything is environmentally friendly. So it doesn't harm your children or your pets. I've used Aria at my work as well as at home. They understand how to secure the property to stop critters re-entering. They know how to see the entry and exit points and block them. They will use live traps if you are really opposed to kill traps, and they do the whole cleanup for you. They are excellent and I would never go any where else.
Description of Work: I had a huge job that needed doing. There was an infestation of possums, raccoons and rats and they got rid of all of them. They came back to tidy up some things and didn't charge me for the return visit.

Great. Art has been providing service for our facility for over a year now and we are pleased as punch with him and his work. He does our monthly preventive roach and rodent control service and comes on call whenever we think we have bedbugs, spider mites, etc. Previously we used another major pest control company and were not pleased with their service, thoroughness, timeliness or professionalism. Although Art can tend to run late for his appointment time, depending on how extensive the service ended up being before us, he is so top notch in everything else that we just don't see it as a big issue. I have personally referred Art to another facility for bedbug mitigation and to a friend for flea control in his home. Both are highly satisfied with his work. I have just hired Art to do rat exclusion work at my own home and will write a review after the work is complete.
Description of Work: Bedbug inspection and treatment of one bedroom with 3 bunk sets and 7 dressers. Art thoroughly inspected every nook and cranny in all the furniture, baseboards, etc. He then used a three prong attack...heat gun, steam heat and a low toxicity pesticide to kill the bugs. He then placed pheremone boxes in the areas he noted activity and will return in one to two weeks to monitor any further activity and to retreat if needed.
