Excellent. They had a competent and hard-working crew. They managed the permitting process quickly. They were knowledgeable about trusses, framing, etc. They evaluated subcontractors and their bids for my benefit, and gave me sound advice. They were on time and on budget. I felt confident in their expertise and honesty. It was a positive experience.

I've used Tortuga twice, once for exterior painting of our home last year and again recently for exterior/interior painting and carpeting of my in-laws house. John responses quickly to voicemails and text messages, he is very patient and collected in communicating the process and expectations. We had a lot a 'cooks in the kitchen' so to speak with my in-laws and he handle everything with such grace and made sure everyone was satisfied with the job. If the opportunity comes up again we would use them again. Great prices for the work and willing to be flexible.

We found Tortuga Construction through Angie's list. The original contact produced a quick response in March 2024. We shared our goal of adding matching decking to fill in a hole after removing an old hot tub. The original quote for the project was verbal without anything written, given by an employee that we never saw again. We decided to go with Tortuga after contacting John Glenn, (owner), and getting a written contract consisting of 50% up front for materials, then 50% upon completion. The older part of our deck is IPE wood, but through discussions with the first employee, we decided to go with Batu wood, which is very similar to IPE, but less expensive. We couldn't be happier! The overall quality of the work is top notch 5 stars. Bradley, who did our deck, was very pleasant to work with and, Erik, the electrician, was excellent. They worked with us to accomplish the final product we wanted, which was a new deck pad with electrical plug-ins installed to accommodate a BBQ gazebo we would later assemble ourselves and also a separate electrical box for our soft tub. Erik was very communicative and always kept us in the loop if he was going to be delayed or needed to change our appointment day. The reason for the 4 star rating is related to poor communication after we paid our first 50% deposit. There was about 2 to 2.5 months of mostly silence prior to getting movement on our project. We wanted completion by the end of June 2024, but it was officially completed 8/4/24. I would highly recommend this company for their craftsmanship, but be aware that a project on the smaller scale does not take priority over larger projects. The staff are great to work with, though, and the end positive effect of the delay is that it helped space out the overall cost of the project! Thank you Tortuga for a job well done!

John came out and looked at the wall and said Tortuga could fix it. Bradley came out and repaired the bathroom wall that had been chewed up wasp. He was quick , efficient and explained each step as he went along. I would hire Tortuga again.

Had a great experience with Tortuga! I needed to replace an old deck and after getting a few bids and meeting John decided to go with him. Loved the result and the way the project went. Great communication through the whole deal. Consequently decided to go with Tortuga for a multi room project laying vinyl plank (recently completed) and are now planning a bathroom project. Very professional company with fair pricing!
