Microlynx left me wanting a better customer experience. Sure Roy is knowledgeable but so is every other repair shop. If customer service is what you value, go elsewhere. After dropping my desktop off one morning because it wouldn't power up I was told they would call later in the day and let me know what they found. They didn't. Next day no call either. I waited until the afternoon and called them. An employee ( Seth) told me that it smelled like burning when they took the cover off and I would need a new computer. I came to pick it up, was charged $38. for diagnostics I did not get and was told they sell rebuilt computers if I would like to buy one. Next morning took the cover off myself and looked inside. No burning smell and nothing looked melted. Googled "troubleshooting power issues". One thing was to check the RAM was seated properly. Long story short, one stick of RAM was my problem. It powered up and has been running fine for three weeks now. I returned to explain to Roy why I was disappointed and it turned confrontational. Doubting what a customer has to say happened is not good business. No I definitely do not know more than Roy about computers but I do know how customers should be treated. He said the office was recorded and he would review my phone call and get back to me. He has not. Save yourself an unpleasant experience and take your computer somewhere where they value your patronage.

Terrible. I had to take them to court and I ended up getting a judgement against them and they have not paid me back yet.
Description of Work: I made an advance payment of over $1,000.00 for parts for a wi-fi system for my business and they never delivered the parts or completed the work.

They were helpful and knowledgeable. I build computers myself. They did not give me any impression that they wanted to sell me something I did not need. I felt they were creditable.

I took my mother-In-Law's 4 month old PC to be worked on because it would not start up. I was told they would get it done in a few hours. The computer spent 3 hours there and then the Technician (Ryan) let me know it was about done. I went to get it. I was told they installed the Xubuntu system again and all was well. They had installed it originally three months back when the computer was brand new. I went home and started it. It did start, but it was loaded with strange data that made the start-up long and frustrating, and the wifi did not work (It had not ever been a problem before)! I called Ryan and spent over an hour with him using a remote program to work some more on the computer. He could not get the wifi to work. I was told that perhaps I needed to switch to Windows 7 and purchase a $150.00 License from them if I wanted it to work correctly. This flabbergasted me, since I was told it was working correctly when I picked it up and paid for it. I called back 5 minutes later, but Ryan had left for the weekend. My Mother-In-Law goes stir crazy without her computer, so I decided to try to download another version of Ubuntu to try to get it working for her. 3 Hours later, after training myself in downloading and burning a DVD from the Ubuntu site, I was done and had installed this on her computer. It worked perfectly, so I took it to her house and got her back online. I called Ryan today to request a refund, since I had been told that my computer was done and back in good working condition, when in fact it was not. I was told that I did not give them a chance to fix the issue. This was not true, since I had called and had Ryan take over my computer remotely and he had told me he could not fix it... and then suggested that I needed to purchase Windows 7 to solve the issue. It is impossible for me to believe that Ryan and his boss (The owner) can not understand that they should not charge for work not done. I wanted the computer fixed. They did not fix it, and now complain I did not give them the opportunity to do so. They also indicated that they would have fixed it if I had bought it there. Perhaps that should be there new slogan, and quot;We will fix it if you bought it here...otherwise, maybe not!and quot; I will see if my credit card company agrees with me (That I should not be charged for services not rendered), and tell everyone I know about thei poor business practices of MICROLYNX..

This customer wanted asked for and got a none standard operating system on this computer. We loaded as he wanted. they used it for three months without any problems and then wanted to update and did. The update caused a problem and was no longer booting. (Member name removed) tried to load a different operating system and failed to do so. He then came in to Microlynx with it and asked if we could do the same as last time. We did the same load as before and we tested it online and did a restart test 10 times and did updates. We spent almost 2 hours but billed for 1 hour of time. He picked up on a Friday and then called on Monday asking for a refund for the hour as the system was missing the wireless driver. The customer never told us he changed and used wireless, Linux loads by modules not like Microsoft OS. We could have told him how to load it but was never given the chance, I am sorry that he is so unhappy. We even gave him the option to bring it in and we would load it for no charge but he just wanted to be mad. Ok 50 thousand great satisfied customers in a row now this. We suggested not to load the OS Linux on a HP ALL in One but customer did not listen.

My daughter had dropped her laptop one week because she had to go back to school in California. The plug in the back broke and she was unable to plug in the laptop to run it or charge her battery.Bob from Computer Labs picked up the laptop, ordered the part from Dell, repaired it and brought it back to our house before she left. We were so glad that he did such a fast and thorough job, because it would have been impossible to start the new semester without a laptop.
Description of Work: Had to change the part where the charger plugs in at the back of a Dell laptop.

As a first time customer, I expected to receive service in several days. I was pleasantly surprised when the owner showed up within the hour. He and an associate worked on my problem and solved it within an hour or so. I was greatly impressed by their professionalism, responsiveness and technical knowledge.
Description of Work: I called with a wireless network problem in my home. The provider responded to correct the problem.

I totally enjoyed working with them. They answered all of my questions in a professional manner. They worked on my computer and laptop very quickly. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I feel that I could pick up the phone and call them anytime.
Description of Work: Microlynx investigated my computer to determine that the hard drive had failed and that the computer was infected. They disposed of the computer and transferred all pictures and documents to my Maxtor drive. They checked my Laptop and installed an antivirus program. They also disposed of an antiquated desk top and tower that I had on hand.

They try to help you quickly. Also they are very knowledgeable in finding solutions. They are very responsive too. They are current and up to date on the new technologies.
Description of Work: MICROLYNX does my computer repairs. We have a computerized sales system, which is a touch screen. He has fixed many of them for us in the past. He re-calibrated the screens and reinstalled them.
