I had this company do work for me last year and I thought they did an excellent job. I called him this year to get a bid on the project, he promised he would call back to follow up with me but never did. I was not very happy with his response this year.

They had to come back for about 2 days to get it all done. They painted 3 rooms, but they are complicated rooms. That was a problem. I think that they did a good job. I do not know if I would use them again, because of where they are. I had to pay $72 each day, just for transportation.
Description of Work: I just go done using Cooper Services Construction. I needed a lot more done. So, it cost more than just what the big deal covered. They painted 3 rooms.

I could not be more pleased with Cooper Services Construction. Not only do they do exceptional work, they are also two of the "nicest" people to work with. Everyone who hires them will enjoy them. They are very careful to make you aware of any problems that come up along the way; they keep you informed when changes are needed. I look forward to hiring them again in the future for other jobs.
Description of Work: The owner and brother did all the preparation necessary to repaint the house. They were very careful to scrape all loose paint, apply oil based primer, caulk, and cover areas. There finished product was very precise!

See above, I have no issues.
Description of Work: Cooper Construction pressure washed my house, fence, wood stairs and an out building. Preparation for painting my home and out building was impeccable. Extreme detail was done to caulking all cracks where my siding met my windows, corner boards, and doors. They caulked also any cracks in the facia that might let water in. Because I have a Lindal cedar home I have a very high prow with expansive view windows. They were able laddered up there and caulk all the cracks that the last painter 10 years ago failed to do. I would recommend this company to anyone. They are real detail guys and take pride in their work!

I called Cooper Services to discuss the remodeling work on Friday. He didn't return my calls so I left him another message on Monday. He did ultimately call me back. My concern was that he didn't seem willing to come out and give me a bid for the work described in the deal and other work that was needed. When it came to us discussing the coupon, he mentioned that he was busy and its difficult to set up an appointment in the future. He said he simply would call a day in advance when he may have some time to come out and do the work., He didn't seem concerned about creating a good relationship with his customers and I just didn't feel that he would be the one I want working on my home. Therefore, I had the deal refunded and did not continue service with him.

This client was called back in 1 business day. Since I am at work in the field most days, I endeavor to call clients back within 1 to 2 business days. We love offering big deals and store front deals to clients. Offering these great cost saving deals does at times create a back log of work and a few scheduling hurtles. In an effort to be fair to all clients that purchase from us, we proceed in working on the deals in the order they are purchased. Unfortunately we were not able to come out immediately to look at, bid on, and do this client’s work. We give clients an approximate wait time to expect before we can book the work. In order to potentially get out to her quicker, I offered her the option to be on a cancellation list, should someone cancel on short notice. *We encourage anyone with a time sensitive project to call to confirm scheduling before purchasing a deal, in order to accommodate your needs in the best possible fashion

All the work was completed on time for the contracted price. The workmanship was top notch, plus we got more deck repair than expected for the agreed upon price.

I called Cooper Services Construction in a bit of a panic because my tenants at one of my rental properties had called to let me know that there was a little bit of mold in one of the downstairs bedrooms. Jared of Cooper Construction talked to me about the issue and he also mentioned that they had a special going on for dry wall repair (I had already known that there was a coupon special, but I didn't even have to ask about it because Jared brought it up on his own). Jared said that he would send me a contract via e-mail that day regarding the issue with a probable estimate. He stuck to his word and I received the e-mail a few hours later. I read through it thoroughly, signed it, scanned it, and sent it back via e-mail. We then decided that he would be at the rental property the next day to start work. He showed up on time and began working. The process in its entirety was very smooth and worry free because Jared continually kept me in the loop by sending e-mails and text messages of what was happening at the rental as well as receipts at the hardware stores. Jared completed his project under budget and on time (2 days). I was truly amazed, appreciative, and thankful that I came across this company. Jared and his team are honest, hard working, punctual, and stick to their budget and word. I have been a landlord for 5 rental properties for almost 6 years and this was the best company I have worked with in all that time.
Description of Work: Jared and his brother completed a number of projects at one of my rental homes including water damage repair, mold remediation, dry wall, gutter repair/drainage pipe, interior painting, and minor carpet repair (although we plan on having a new carpet installed in the near future by this company). Specifically, we had minor mold issues in one of the bedrooms at a rental property. Jared of Cooper Services Construction came prepared the next day after I called him regarding the problem. Jared and his team located where the water damage was coming from and fixed the issue. The drainage pipes were fixed and the slider door that led into the bedroom was sealed properly (the door had not been sealed properly which is why the water was leaking through). The carpets in the bedroom were cleaned thoroughly. Dry wall work was done in that bedroom where the mold had been and also in the upstairs bathroom. Jared and his team then painted the bathroom and the laundry room. I truly appreciate what a great job this company did at the rental. My tenants are very pleased and we will definitely be calling Cooper Services Construction if there are any other issues in the future.

Over the last few years, my husband and I had accumulated many items on our home improvement/maintenance list. When I saw an Angie's List Big Deal from Cooper Construction Services offering 40 hours of home improvement services, I knew this could take care of that list. Jared and his assistant spent 3 days (40 hours between them) doing most of the many items that had stacked up on our list. They were very professional and dealt easily and quickly with the inevitable minor complications that always accompany these sort of tasks. Jared was very easy to communicate with and I felt comfortable with the advice/feedback he gave me on some of my ideas for projects. Because they did such a wide variety of projects, I feel confident in reporting that Cooper Services Construction can handle anything you ask them, and will tell you if something is outside their field of expertise. One item on my list, installing a sky light, didn't work out as Jared explained that cutting holes in roofs is something he prefers to leave to roofers. Fair enough. I definitely recommend Cooper Services Construction to other people. My experience with them was excellent and I feel I got more than my money's worth. I'm sure I'll need their services again the next time our list gets out of control.
Description of Work: Replaced entry door, replaced bathroom vanity counter, sink, valves and faucet, replaced 2 light fixtures, replaced bathroom fan, repaired and strengthened attic access, laid insulation over garage, replaced old gutter downspout, fixed outdoor faucet, improved rain barrel set-up, installed new towel holder, installed new shelf in kitchen, fixed ranch slider frame so door opens properly and a few other misc. items

Jared was very responsive and was able to get to the projectcts within just a few days of when we contacted him. This was especially important to us as each of the projects ended up being last minute and we were trying to coordinate with a plumber, electrician tile setter etc. Jared and Darren were very upbeat and didn't get ruffled no matter how many unexpected problems popped up. I especially appreciated that they let me know exactly how they were going to fix things and where there were options that impacted costs of time and materials they always explained them and went with my choice.

We purchased Cooper Services Big Deal Offer from Angie's List - 40 hours of construction work for $1500.00. Jared came by a few weeks after the purchase and began working on adding a second bathroom to our cabin, as well as finishing the stairs we'd installed the previous summer.Jared and Darren framed in the new bathroom and recut the door so that it would swing in the opposite direction. They installed the sheet rock, taped and muddied. The additional cost was for materials and extra time it took to fit the paneling in along the stairs.Jared and Darren were great. Very professional and a pleasure to work with. We'll be having them do some additional work for us soon.
Description of Work: Jared and Darren framed in a second bathroom and finished off some stairs we'd installed last summer.
The job was started when promised and finished on time as promised. Excellent quality of workmanship. Great attitudes! Very helpful.
Description of Work: They repaired a damage from a water leak which involved replacing part of the ceiling and painting the entire ceiling, replacing the sub-flooring, the flooring, the vinyl flooring, the floor molding, reinstall the toilet. The work was done to the highest professional standards, done timely and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

Jared is a very thoughtful and talented person. Before scheduling replacement of the wet drywall, he was diligent to determine how it became soaked. The culprit was a slightly bent edge of the garage door that allowed water to penetrate the inside. We had boxes stacked (too close to the wall) and, therefore, the water had a way to get to the wall. He advised us to seal the bent door, which we did. The drywall replacement was done efficiently and the wall is once again smooth. and completely intact. I chose to do the painting, since the patched surfice had to dry thoroughly. ===================================================================================================== On Feb 9, Cooper Construction repaired a porch pillar that had sustained water damage in the bottom 5 inches. The pillars on our covered deck are decorative in style and repairing one seemed quite difficult. Jared thought about the problem at hand, then presented us with a great solution. He suggested to cut off the damaged portion and replace it with a 6 1/2" mitered box. He did the same with the other 3 pillars. Now, it looks like it was designed that way! The miter on each pillar is done exacting and they also applied waterproof sealant. I had spoken with several contractors in the past; none wanted to tackle the problem. Needless to say. we are quite happy! Cooper Construction will be back at our home to paint 6 of our outside doors (as soon as the weather warms up a bit)
Description of Work: We've hired Cooper Services two times so far and have been most pleased with their quality of work and attention to detail. The first time, on Dec 7, they replaced drywall that had become wet. The cost was $250.00 The second time, Feb 9, we asked to have a porch pillar repaired, which required Finish Carpentry skills.. Cost: $497.00

My wife and I selected Cooper Services Construction (CSC) from Angie's List based on their grades, and close location. We also liked the fact that CSC advertised their ability to perform a variety of components of home remodeling, which allowed us to have one contractor handle the entire project. Response to my initial inquiry was rapid, and courteous. Jared Cooper, the owner, was very positive about being able to perform the project I outlined over the phone. He coordinated with a local contractor's flooring showroom in Fife for us to evaluate and select the flooring material we wanted. (CFS in Fife is a superb company, with extremely knowledgeable staff!) Jared and his colleague, Jeff Green, were on time for the appointment to survey our 1975-built 1,500 sq ft house. They took detailed measurements, and then discussed with us at length how we envisioned the remodel. Jared and Jeff provided a number of excellent suggestions, though it was clear from the start that my wife and I were "driving the train". Although it took Jared a little longer than expected to provide us an estimate/bid, (Just by a couple of days), the estimate was very detailed and well within our pre-determined project budget. After we made some final decisions and adjustments, we met with Jeff and signed a contract. We paid 50% in advance. Jared and/or Jeff kept in contact with us in between the day we signed the contract, and the designated project start date. On that date, Jared and his crew showed up on time, and ready to work. Everyone was polite, and professional. Jared explained each phase of the remodel in detail, and was very flexible with minor design changes. (We did keep those to a minimum!) As a prelude to the remodel, we had a hazmat abatement company remove the 1970's asbestos-impregnated vinyl flooring under the carpet. This revealed evidence of water damage on the subfloor under a window. We asked Jared to evaluate the extent of damage, which was localized to one area of the floor, and the wall. Jared agreed to add the cost of repairing this damage to our contract. The installation of solid oak pre-finished flooring was subcontracted to "Floor Kings". This company performed brilliantly, working rapidly and efficiently, and the results are first class craftsmanship. We also took the opportunity once the old trim/doors had been removed to bring in a painter (Steve Lyon, University Place) to repaint the ceilings, back rooms, and the area where Jared had repaired the wall. (Steve Lyon isn't on Angie's List...yet...but we had used his services before, and we recommend him highly!) While CSC experienced a few glitches with the doors/trim (several of the doors were not the right ones), this only delayed our expected completion date by a week. Jared engaged "Fineline" to handle the counter top replacement job, and they too performed very well. Jared made sure that every issue or concern we surfaced was resolved to our complete satisfaction before the project was considered finished. We never had any difficulty contacting Jared or his crew, and they kept us informed whenever there was even the slightest change in schedule or plan. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the final result. Our home's formerly worn and outdated appearance was completely transformed into a fresh, classic, attractive, and comfortable living space. It looks even better than we had envisioned. The final cost for our project was as bid, with two exceptions: the very reasonable extra cost of repairing/replacing the water damaged area, and the cost of the stainless steel sink we had specified was slightly higher than Jeff had predicted. Considering the numbers of "Contractors From H***" stories out there, our experience with CSC and their subcontractors reinforced the value of Angie's List ratings, and the benefits of working with local businesses.
Description of Work: Replaced carpet with solid oak hardwood floors throughout the house; Replaced all hollow core faux mahogany interior doors and trim with clear-finished solid hemlock 4-panel doors and matching trim; Replaced "harvest gold/diseased canary yellow" formica kitchen countertop and sink with Corian countertop and stainless steel sink. Replaced interior door hardware and exterior door locksets with upgraded lever-handle hardware; Performed touch-up painting; Replaced water-damaged subfloor, studs, footer, and drywall/insulation. (Discovered during project.)

I didn?t follow up on the project because I got sick. I will call them back. I really liked them. That part of the process went well. They were local. They were very personable. It was a very pleasing experience. I didn?t get the work done. I stopped the whole work as I had appendicitis. I would consider using them in the future.
Description of Work: Cooper Services Construction gave me a quote. They came in early January. I wanted to get repair done in the cedar ceiling of the kitchen.
For us this was a major remodel! It went very well considering all the horror stories you hear. CS took our two story house with small rooms and an unfinished attic and created a spacious open home with a beautiful finished loft. The house was impractical with unsuable space at the beginning and Jared and his team built just what we had envisioned. More specifically, all of the workers were great to work with during the project. They were very nice and professional. The work was completed during the time-frame that we were was given at the beginning of the project. Everything was done professionally and looks great. We are very happy and happy that the remodel is now finished!
Description of Work: CS Cooper Services Construction did everything from demo of our home to the finish carpentry and painting. We bought the home with doing this remodel in mind. Once we settled on Jared and his team, they began the demo work several weeks later. The demo included tearing out of several dividing walls, of which two areas were later rebuilt, one as a coat closet beneth the stairs and the other as a half wall. CS then went on to the drywall, painting, full kitchen cabinet installation, interior doors, installation of pergo laminate floors, and interior trim. They also did plumbing and electrical work throughout the kitchen, bathroom, and house.

These guys were great. I was able to leave a key for them to access my home and complete the work without being there. They are licenced, bonded, and insured, which was comforting. I have been hearing horror stories of many contractors foregoing this expense duing our current econonmy. One thing that was cool about CS was the fact that they looked at several other projects for me and recommended that I not do them at this time, but monitor them instead, which saved me money. Overall the impression I got from start to finish was an honest, upfront company. Very refreshing!
Description of Work: I had multiple projects that I needed done to rent my home. I called CS Construction to obtain an estimate for the work. Jared (the owner of the company) and I discussed the projects on the phone and he gave me a rough idea of cost and the timeline for doing the work. The Projects completed were as follows: Two painting projects (paint match exisiting paint), fixed my front door which was barely closing and scrapping on the bottom, fixed my kitchen cabinet doors which were not closing right (he swapped out hardware, etc.), and fixed my bathroom TP fixtures which were falling off the wall.
