The job was done quickly. The crew was nice. The price was great. Looks good and zero leaks. Does not sound loud when it rains (that what most people ask me about).

All the worrying issues that might come up with a three-layer tear-off of a 100 year-old house (1600 sq ft) and carriage house were skillfully taken care of: rot, boards and soffits that needed to be replaced, adding venting that older construction lacks, dealing with a couple of ants nests, and so forth. My neighbors on either side consented to give the roofers access; they left the yards pristine at the end of every day, and when they were finished with the roof, the front and sides of my home were cleaner then when they first arrived. I was so impressed with Tom, the foreman: great communication, kindness, very knowledgeable; he kept me apprised of issues every step of the way. I knew there would be problems, because I had had a leak, and part of a downstairs ceiling had fallen in. Plus, I wanted venting boards (proper term?) added across both roofs. The extra repairs were far more reasonable than anticipated (they didn't even charge for for some of them). For two premium 40-year roofs, the final cost with tax was $20,434. If I'm still around in 40-years, I will definitely use Rainshield for my next roof!

The two man crew were on site when they said they would be, and they worked consistently while on the job. They completed the job in about five days. They were good about covering the roof when interrupted by rain, and left my property clean at the end of the job.

They were initially booked out a couple months, but were worth the wait. Great crew, finished in a timely manner, cleaned up everyday befo ex they left. Even after the install there were some wind storms and they came back to check and make,sure all was good.

The crew members were very concentrated on their work and well organized in their distribution of tasks. Was great that they cleaned as then went along. I would highly recommend them.

Went well . They finished the job within 3 days. Just in time as I was hit with a big snow storm after they were done. 2½ ft of snow. I didn't like finding cigarette butts on my sidewalk tho. I know it was them as no one in my home smokes nor in my neighborhood. If you are sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke I would try someone else. The "foreman" was smelling heavily of it.

Positives: the workers were very professional and the foreman kept me updated each day. They ran into inclement weather so they only stripped the roof and put the new roof in, in what they could do before the weather turned nasty. Took about two weeks, but at least my roof was always protected. They also did a maintenance check of other things pertaining to the roof. Cleaned up each day; cleaned out my gutters too. Looks really good now! Cons: took about 6 months to finally start the work. Not much communication from the office unless I did the emailing or calling. I get that it took that long due to weather, but would have liked to be kept in the loop a bit more.

We noticed the leak on the morning of President's day, of course on a holiday. Immediately went on Angie's list and called the best reviewed contractors. Rainshield responded first, Debbie answered the phone, and within 2 hours had 2 pros out to our house (Jasper and Chad, not sure if names are spelled correctly). They investigated very thoroughly, went into the attic (i had ladders ready and the access cleared for them) and on the roof of course, concluded the leak originated from around the skylights. Fixed the leak temporarily and submitted estimate a day later as promised (Rick). We set up a day for the repair and the same pros showed up, on time, worked a full day and did an awesome job. I went on the roof a few times and they demonstrated in detail what they had done, included some extras that were not on the bid, thank you. Clean up was immaculate (i usually prepare for some time after contractors leave to clean up myself, but not necessary with this company). I then called to pay the bill in full over the phone to uphold my end of the bargain and it was all done. I would recommend Rainshield to anybody who wants quality work done.

They took some short cuts in regard to the project and it took too long for them to do the job. They also did not order enough materials and they had to order materials twice. In addition to that, they came out and provided a quote and after they started the work they suggested something that needed to be done--it was something that should have been immediately obvious to them. They also wanted to charge extra for it.

We a remodeling a home, and new windows leaked when seasonal rain started. We had same day service to secure and stop leak and within a week crew was here to install new siding to permanently stop problem. All workers were professional and very courteous and prompt. We were storing a new kitchen in garage where leak was infiltrating causing huge stress. Rainshield responded immediately and took care of it saving us potentially thousands of dollars in damages.

Extremely well. They asked when anything looked questionable or out of contract. Finished early and at estimate. Courteous and professional. Replaced a very old outdoor thermometer they broke, unnecessary as it was on last legs, but indicative of their quality.

In our appointments, their representative was always punctual, professional, and exceedingly polite. All of the employees we came in contact with were professional and pleasant, the crew that did the work was above reproach. The work was finished ahead of schedule and they cleaned up all debris they caused in their work. The perimeter of our home and grounds look as good as they did before the work was started.

Sent the first email on February second, received an email starting that an estimator would look at the roof. We had some snow so i waited to contact the company until February 21, when I again asked for an estimate on the cleaning, and evaluate the roof. As of April 14, I am still waiting for the estimate. After I wrote the review, I was contacted by Don, and told that they had unfortunetly dropped the ball, and if I would give him another chance they would do the work at their cost. In June I contacted Rainshield again, and asked for an estimate to replace the roof. Don promptly came out and gave me an estimate. I reminded him of his statement to do the work at cost, and I said I understood that his comment didn't mean replacing the roof, but cleaning it as I had earlier asked. I also received a quote from another company for the roof replacement. This second quote was $3000.00 dollars less than Rainshileds, So I asked if they could match the quote, and told them that I had work on another house that needed to be done, and that I would prefer to use just one company. They refused to lower their price even though I had been told that they would do what they could to earn my business.

Don made the presentation. The estimate was very detailed and clearly presented. The price was l little higher than the other bids so I went with a different contractor. He provided a lot of helpful materials on how to choose a contractor and the materials they use for windows and roofing. I'll get a bid from them when I need a new roof. Very nice people.

It went fine. They were prompt and easy to work with.

Very well. They even cleaned up after themselves. With all the rain we've had this winter, we've had no leaks. Wonderful!

We signed a contract in early December and were told they were about 3 weeks out. 7 weeks later, having heard nothing, I finally called them up, and amazingly they were just about to call me. Several weeks later, after a couple more delays, they finally showed up. I was very unimpressed by the skills and knowledge of the roofers. Supposedly they've done hundreds of metal roofs before, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing and the results aren't pretty, with extra screws all over the place and ribs standing out. I was also annoyed with their time management. They showed up on the first not-rainy day in a week, and only worked 6 hours, leaving around 2pm with the sun shining bright in the sky. It is worth noting that the crew consisted of nice guys. [Update since Rainshield responded]: Rainshield's claims in their response below do not address the inadequacy of their crew to be able to install the roof in my situation. They knew that they were not installing it on plywood and thus should not have pre-drilled the metal sheeting with holes that ended up not lining up with the existing boards, thereby requiring extra screws. I myself recommended to the crew on site that they do not do this, but they did it anyway. The failure of the metal panels to overlap properly was due to one of the crew members (the one in charge) insisting reaching over from the far edge of the panel to put the first screw in, and his body pushed against the panel each time moving it over. An experienced metal roofing installer would not have done it this way. The bottom of the panel should be secured by a workman reaching up from below the panel. As Rainshield noted, there were a couple boards that appeared to be weak after removing the old roofing. The foreman pointed them out to me and asked if I wanted them replaced. He noted that the boards next to them were in good shape so it shouldn't be a problem. I agreed with the foreman and thus the boards were not replaced. I don't see why this is my fault.

I appreciated their professionalism on the phone. I used one of the companies they recommended who did excellent work.

First contact with estimator was informative and very clear. Workmen were fairly quiet, no yelling or music. Cleaned up fairly well at the end of each workday. As I don't know anything about roofing and wouldn't necessarily know if something was done right or wrong, all I can say that it looks nice and I love the new skylight. After the big garbage bin was removed I found over thirty nails in my driveway with my own magnet and a cigarette butt. The job was well done but the crew did an incomplete final cleanup. Saw a couple of crew members smoking while working on my roof which made me nervous. I found out later that they are not supposed to smoke while on the roof. I gave a decent and quot;Cand quot; grade on professionalism only because the estimator, who also returned for final paperwork was courteous, helpful and responsive.

Very professional at fair cost. Faultless clean-up. Friendly staff and workmen.

They were great. It was a large project. Our roof had shingles on it so they had to take them off and build a new base. They were really good the whole way through and we would certainly hire them again. We were very happy with the product. They were right on time whenever they said that they would and they were great communicators.

Excellent job. Arrived on time, every time. Great sales support. Plenty of info, professionally presented, made it very easy to make a decision. We did 4 competitive bids. Rainshield's pricing came in on the low side of center.We decided on them because of their certification with Certainteed as approved installers, the warranty that they provide, and the quality of work done previously by them in our neighborhood. The re-roofing went very smoothly. Very courteous, clean and efficient crew. Work was done in a timely manner. We asked them to do a couple of extra things for us while they were up there (repair a piece of loose siding, and close up our gable end vents), That work was done professionally and at a reasonable price. Cleanup was near perfect. We found one minor divot in our ceiling after the work was done. No idea how it happened. They had a person in the next day to fix it. No muss. No fuss. We have a steep driveway, and I was concerned about their dumpster damaging it. They planked it, which took care of my driveway just fine. I would say that this was as near to a perfect job as anyone could get. Great people. Excellent job.

It was a very good experience from beginning to end. The estimator was very professional and their contract was comprehensive. He didn't try to sell us more than we wanted (e.g., a better grade, more expensive shingle). The men who did the work were prompt, courteous and did a great job in the amount of time that was estimated. And the clean-up was spotless. Rainshield exceeded our expectations!

It was a fine experience. Everything was fine. They were honest, brought their bid in on time and, as ordered, there were a couple of agreed on change orders that were discovered in the course of the project, which I fully agreed with. They left the job site nice and clean and they did a good job. It was timely and they had to work with weather, of course, but they finished the job on time. It was a fair value for the work they did. It was a very difficult project and several bidders didn't even want to look at it so their's was the only bid I got.
