Nolans Roofing Inc.

Nolan's was very responsive to my message asking for a call back about arranging a quote for a new roof. The estimator they sent was very prompt and professional. The quote was in my e-mail in box later the same day. I have not yet had the work done but Nolan's provided me with the most competitive quote.

Very conscientious, returned calls promptly, would not except any payment until they found the leak and repaired it. It was a hard leak to find as it did not leak all the time, only on occasion

Nolans Roofing Inc. is excellent. I wasn't shopping for price. I was shopping for quality and he came out, walked all over the roof with me and did the best job with his presentation. He ended up being the lowest bid, also, by about $2,000.00, and that wasn't even an issue for me. They're very neat and clean. They're very polite and not the typical construction worker that you're embarrassed to have on your property, like the stereotype. They're very professional, helpful and clean. They're very fast. They hand nail the shingles, which is better than having the staples. It does a better job, so they hand nail everything. I'm impressed. They do good work. I was up there last night, looking at everything. I used to be a builder, so I know they do great work.

My questions from the estimate were answered promptly--it was clear that Nolan's had a lot of experience with manufactured homes in Whatcom County. I took Roger's suggestion that soffit vents would most likely not work on our house. After tear off, he called me and said soffit vents would work and did I want them installed? He gave me a quote on the cost and I said yes--didn't slow down the job at all and we will have a longer lasting roof. I'm a firm believer that the customer needs to do their homework. With a little effort on the internet, I quickly learned about materials and practices that would result in a solid, well-done job that would last 30 years.

All this work was done with great skill, and they were kind and generous to me personally. They did not pressure me in any way when they made the bid. They gave me good information on alternatives. Since I wanted the work done in March, they worked hard, fast & successfully around the weather to get it closed back in between raindrops. It turns out that early Spring is a good time for homeowners to have a roof done at a low price. They did a great job of protecting my garden & yard - no nails and very very few roofing scraps were left behind. They used plywood, tarps & inverted plastic trash cans to protect fragile plants. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

This was a tough and complex job as we own a unique geodesic dome home. I believe I had 6 quotes from roofing companies and the quotes varied drastically. Nolan's was on the lower end of the spectrum so I "interviewed" my top two roofers and decided to go with Nolans based on the interview and another referral recommending them.One of the roofers did not even want to take the job on and felt that it was too complicated. I was able to get a hold of roofing instructions from the manufacturer that showed in detail the process to roof a dome home. Nolan's spent considerable time researching and reviewing these instructions prior to me even hiring them. All in all they did a great job and I would and will hire them again.

Right now Nolans Roofing is the cheapest bid. I would of liked to receive the estimate back sooner, it took about five days.

They had a good price and they worked pretty fast. They got the job done at the end of December in the cold.

The had great initial contact. It was fast and professional. However the day they were scheduled to come out they no called and no showed, I finally received an e-mail the next day apologizing and offering to clean my roof for free and asked when would be a good time. I promptly responded the same day and its been over a week now and I have not heard from them by phone or e-mail on when it is they plan to come out.

I called them a couple of times and it has been hard to schedule. I got an estimate from them late September. I have to call them again. They put me on a list possibly to be able to squeeze me in on a certain day and the weather was pretty bad that week and I have not heard back from them. Actually, my neighbor had called him to do an estimate on his roof and while he was there, I asked him to see if he had time to give me an estimate also and he did give me the estimate. I needed a complete tear off. He had a printer in his truck so as to be quick to come up with a bid. He gave me a printed estimate; I was pretty impressed by that. He was quick. A couple of others said they would send me a bid but I never heard back from them. They asked me if I wanted the estimate to be mailed or if I have an email address and things like that. I got two or three emails and two others never responded at all. One company actually came back and hand delivered the estimate. He seemed to know what he was talking about and was pretty professional. I don’t know if they are getting backed up from bad weather and things like that. It is already three and a half weeks. I have called him and he hasn’t returned my call. I just left a message on his cell phone. I want to call him again and ask him if he got the message I left. I had him in high regards until the last message I left him. I haven’t heard back. I do not know if he got the message. When he came to give the estimate he seemed pretty good. I did have to ask him to check up in the attic. He got up on top of the roof and walked around. He had some concerns about moisture in the attic. I asked him to take a peek up there and he did. It is really hard for me to grade them based on the estimate. I would recommend them to others from what I have heard but I haven’t had any work done. I had Nolans Roofing Inc. and another company on top of the list out of several that I had estimates from. I like the idea that Nolans Roofing Inc. offered to do hand storm nailing which none of the others do. I told him I had some concerns with some ventilation and asked him some questions and I tried to find out some information on that before I had him start the work. I have never really signed a contract. I want the OSB taken off and put plywood and want to do it quick. If I want to have plywood it is going to be more amount of money. We have just had so much rain and it seems the only time we had sunshine was a couple of weekends but no one seems to work on a weekend. I don’t want my sheeting torn off during a rain storm. Winter is getting closer and closer and if they can’t get out here, I will try to see if I can get someone else out here. I would use them again but it depends on my further correspondence with them.

He was professional and did fine on everything, but he was way more expensive than everybody else, so I sent him an email and said I would be using someone else. I would not call him back in the future.

They are great. The price was reasonable. I had a normal experience with them.

They did a very good job and a positive of the company was the workers. The negatives are that they tried to charge for things after they started working even though they weren’t in the estimate. They tore off the old drip edge and wanted to put on a new one, but they didn’t have my permission to take off the old one. I would use them again but I would have more things written down.

Nolans is great to work with. The estimatd was very professional, knowledeable. No hard sale for unnecessary work, but he did make sound recommendations. The roofing team was very professional, worked very fast and displayed an excellent example of teamwork. The job was completed in two days and on-budget. The roof looks great. Overall a very good experience.

While Nolan's roofing was the losest bid and did excellent work, they did not honor the Angies list coupon.

He did a good job and his workers were very good.

The salesperson seemed very knowledgeable. The people came out, but they did not really finish the job that I had contracted them for, so the guy came back and did it for me. Taking everything into consideration, they were excellent, and their price was very good. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Roger was responsive in returning my call, was able to fit me into his schedule, and forthright in explaining that it would cost extra for travel time to my house. He showed up when he said he would, was efficient in getting everything done, and cleaned up when he was finished. Considering my experiences with other roofing companies while trying to get some repairs done, it was very refreshing to deal with someone that acted like they cared about doing business with me. Too many of the other companies spoke with seemed only interested if I wanted a complete roof replacement.

It went great for me. It rained the two days they were working on my roof. Didn't slow them down a bit. I couldn't believe how quickly they worked. There were six or seven on the crew. I didn't hear any complaining. They all knew what they were doing and they were motivated. They left my site well picked up. No nails or screws on the ground. I haven't found any. So I'm really pleased. This was a big expensive job, I was dreading for years. They gave full value for my dollar. There custom roofing panel without exposed screws, not only looks great but the design will insure I don't have leaks for ever. I'd love to have them replace the roof on my hangar, someday.

Nolan's Roofing provided the most reasonable cost estimate, and they were very responsive in communications. The company gave us the quote and the time they could be there. They came when they said they would, did the job, and charged as estimated. I am very satisfied with their work.

Nolan's roofing is awesome! Right from the start Roger was excellent. He came out on a Saturday so that we could be there when he did the estimate (a number of other roofers we contacted for estimates would not come out on Saturdays). He walked us through all the work that would be done and everything that was included in the estimate. He also gave us an absolutely killer price to replace the two aging skylights ($500 for two, installed). The rest of the quote seemed pretty much on par with other quotes we got. In the end, the cost was a little over estimate, which we expected would happen because we had to replace a few plywood sheets. Roger also agreed to keep the sales tax at the rate quoted on the estimate, even though the sales tax rate went up a week after the quote was generated. We had some delays in the start of work due to weather - really bad rain storms the week prior that pushed his work on other clients back, followed by snow on the first morning they were set to start on our roof - but that happens in this sort of thing. The guys made up for it by working through Saturday and had everything done only a half day later than we'd originally talked about. Roger's team is very professional, and does an awesome job of making sure that everything is cleaned up at the end of each day. They laid tarps over our decks to protect it while working and after they were gone we only found a few small pieces of shingles that had been almost entirely embedded in the mud of yard. They were great about answering any questions we had about anything, and even pointed out a potential problem with our chimney. I would say the only (very minor) issue we had is that when scheduling meetings with Roger directly, he has a tendency to be late. I would definitely recommend Nolan's roofing to anyone I know. They were awesome!

The bid was very fast and reasonable. The workers were very friendly and courteous. They removed the old roofing and hauled it away, all the while keeping the house dry through the downpours and feisty winds. Then they worked in very cold noreaster to get the metal roofing installed. Some plywood had to be replaced and they even repaired a sagging eve. There were three skylights to be replaced, and one more to be added. All the time they were professional, prompt and, respectful of our property.

They were very nice, but I haven?t figured out who I am going to choose for the work. The quote was about $4000 and all the quotes were about the same. It?s hard to know if the price was good since I know that the materials are expensive and the roof has to be disposed up. It?s a very small house and I thought that the quote was too much. I have 4 bids and the difference is within a couple of hundred dollars. They came and saw my roof. They were very cordial. I have nothing to really compare them with. They provided the information that I needed quickly. They were responsive for a bid. Their punctuality was very nice and they came on time. Everybody who came out presented themselves very professionally and so I don?t know if I would use their services again or not. There is no difference between the companies.

It went perfect. I liked that it was local and family owned. Their were a few problems and within a week they were resolved.
