Summary of the meeting that took place April 3rd 2019 between hired Contractor , Mr. Mrs. Stelian Home Owner and Hazim Al Khalaf From the moment we entered Hazim office he looked very confused as to why we were there and caught of guard as if he forgot about our scheduled meeting. After introductions he seemed to understand the purpose of our visit. In short, Hazim was not at all prepared for our meeting. He had no place for the five of us to sit and the only copy of the proposed plans was the one that another contractor printed and provided. Once settled in around Hazims small desk he jumped right into explaining his sheer wall details and what they meant, trying to make a relatively elementary component of the overall plan set our primary focus. It came across as if he was trying to impress us with his knowledge. This was not necessary and honestly a waste of everybody time. Once he was done with his sheer wall detail explanation Bxxxxxx was given the opportunity to ask questions based on his review of the plans Hazim had provided to wife . Below is a list of questions and demands that Bxxxxxx presented 1.Framing plan will be required to not only obtain a building permit but to build the house. 2.Elevations will be required to not only obtain a building permit but to build the house. 3.Roof framing plan will be required to not only obtain a building permit but to build the house. 4.HD hold downs-Questions was do they need to transfer to the foundation? Per the plans they are only tying the floors together. 5.Plan section details from page S-9 do not indicate where in the structure these details need to be applied. Bxxxxxx review of the plans was based upon 20 years of experience running similar construction projects. Upon his review it became very clear that the plans were incomplete and overall confusing. The plans followed no standard practice methods and led to a reviewer having significant questions and concerns. During Bxxxxxx review he spent 30 plus minutes looking for particular details from page S-9 trying to figure out where they were in the structure and how they were applicable. Hazims answer to this and to question 5 from above was that they are in there just in case they are needed. Engineers do not add details to plans just in case. A professional engineer will have plans organized with only information that pertains to the project. Hazim continually ignored or diverted important questions back to other sections of the plans. Regularly he himself had to flip through the plan set three times to find a single detail he was referencing. As the meeting went on, Hazim would randomly refer to details on the plans in a way that would mislead all parties into thinking the entire plan set pertained to the project. He would bounce through the pages as if he was trying to confuse us. At one point in an attempt to impress us with a call out of a beam size while flipping through the plans he could not find the beam call out table. Bxxxxxx had to show him what page the beam call out table was on. It was at this point that wife confronted Hazim about him not fulfilling his contractual duty to date, and informed Hazim that they would be breaking the contract and no longer need Hazims services. Hazim got very upset and demanded that the four of us leave his office immediately. He became hostile and incredibly rude. From the prospective of a contractor Hazims plans were incomplete, inaccurate and messy. Hazim dodged important questions and continually tried to mislead the entire group into thinking his plans were complete and accurate. The plan set received was not even close to enough to suffice for a city review or a build. Hazims actions have delayed the Stelian Project by a minimum of 12 weeks and could have easily ...

Amazing guys! And they did a great job! The only problem is how long it took. But was always updated on what going on. I recommend you use them!

Hazim came to a house we were renovating and needed a structural engineer asap. He accommodated our timeline and we finished the project on time. I would recommend them for their services and will definitely use them again!

We needed an engineer to assess a house floor structure rebuild for our church parsonage, which was a requirement of the city of Sumner. I called around and every engineer I had called was either several months out or not interested in our project until I called Hazim at Wilson and HAJ Consultant Engineers. He was willing to meet the same week to evaluate our project and give a bid on the spot. After receiving the bid, which seemed to be a very fair price, he and his son decided to do the engineering for our project completely free! I was completely blown away by their generosity. He then gave us a time frame of 2-3 weeks for when all drawings and calculations would be completed. A week later he had completed everything, and went over it all with me to ensure I understood it all. The next day i submited it to the city and it was approved no questions asked. We are so grateful we stumbled upon Wilson and HAJ Consultant Engineers and would gladly recommend them to anyone in need of solid engineering professionals. Thank you again and God bless!
