The technicians worked quickly and efficiently to winterize my sprinkler system.
Description of Work: Rain Pros were very willing to work with my schedule when determining when to arrive to winterize the sprinkler system. They arrived on time and the process didn't take too long. They also let me know that they would be able to clean my fountain and get it back up and running in the Spring when they turn the sprinkler system back on.

We had just bought our house and all of the sudden there was water EVERYWHERE in basement. It was the week after Thanksgiving and we called Aaron at rain pros. He actually answered the phone and made an appt with me within a few days (apparently everyone was having water problems after a big storm. Most other companies either told me they were too busy and couldn't fit me in at all or it would be 3-4 weeks). Aaron came out, spent about 30 minutes assessing what the actual problem was, and followed up with a bid in the next day. He gave us three options. 1. was the bare minimum that we could do to try an fix the water issues, 2. put in a french drain system and seal a crack in the foundation from the outside, and removing about 35 linear feet of concrete patio to decrease the water pouring towards the house. 3. Do all of the above but remove the entire concrete patio as well. We chose option 2. He had guys out that week to start. The whole project was supposed to take 3-4 days. They did run into a few problems which did extend the project to about 6 days. The project manager made sure to check in with me every day after they finished working to catch me up on how everything was coming. If something was working but not to their standard they re-did it. When they needed to go over schedule they told me why it needed to happen and how long it would take. Once they were done, they cleaned up all of the area, fixed the landscaping, you can never even tell they were here! Overall, a great experience. No more water in the basement, I felt involved in all of the process, and I really felt like they take pride in what they do, and making sure that the job is done right. I would use them over and over again if I needed to. GREAT COMPANY.

Overall, everything went fine. I used a Groupon to pay for my sprinker winterization. It did not take too long to schedule a time. I had them do a spring start-up service in April 2012, which went fine. However, I attempted to schedule another fall winterization, and I did not get a call back for almost a month. I called and left a message with Oliver, but did not hear back from him. I was going to schedule it with another company, but Oliver finally called me back and was able to schedule the winterization fairly quickly after that. Sometimes they do not get back to me right away, but they are reasonably priced.

Aaron came out twice to estimate the work and his crew kept to their promise. At times, we struggled a bit with some mistakes such as burying covers to the septic system and not getting everything exactly as we planned. Also, Aaron did not spend much time on the job so he wasn't always aware of the issues. Overall, I think the crew (led by Joel) did a good job and completed the job to our satisfaction. The creativity of the design gave us a very nice front entry area. We would use RainPros again!
Description of Work: Aaron and his crew leveled our front yard after construction of our home was complete and designed a lawn and river rock beds for the yard area. They also established gravel pathways and drainage for this large area.

I called the phone number for the firm from their website. The recording referred me to another number if I wanted to schedule a call to have a sprinkler system winterized. I then called that number which rolled to voice mail. I left my name and telephone number, requesting a call back to schedule the winterization service. When I did not receive a call back after four days, I called again and went through the same process. To date (two weeks later) I still have not received a call back. I called another highly rated service (on Angie's list) and have had my sprinkler system winterized.

We hate to miss any opportunity to help. The last 2 weeks of November are incredibly difficult for us to keep up with all of the last minute requests, somehow on this one our response time was too long. We hope [member name] will give us an opportunity to make it up to him in the future.

Very happy with the service and will use them again. Have already shared this information with a friend.
Description of Work: They blew out my sprinkler system for the winter. Since it's a fairly large system he made sure every zone was completely dry even though it took additional time. I was shown how to charge the system this coming spring without having to call them to perform the work. I was informed of the other services the company provided without being subjected to a hard sales pitch and will call them first if I need other services.

These guys are EXCELLENT fence builders. Originally, I contracted with them to solve some drainage and lawn problems I had in my new home. When I mentioned to them I needed a fence built, they said they had experience with fence building. They submitted a bid that was very competitive and below what the other major fence builders recommended on Angie's list offered. In the end, they built my fence exactly to my community's HOA regulations. They used quality materials like cedar and pressure treated thick lumber. I have confidence that my fence will last many years. The work was completed in a timely manner. Aaron, the owner, was responsive and prompt in addressing my questions. The staff is super courteous and they made sure my back yard was cleaned up after the work was done. I highly recommend these guys if you are looking for fencing, drainage, and other landscaping needs.

Called Rain Pro's and made an appointment for an estimate with Aaron. He came out as scheduled on 9/18 to discuss what I wanted and his recommendations for the project. He emailed me an estimate on 9/20. After a couple more emails with clarifications and discussion of schedule, we set a date of 9/27 for the work. The work crew began arriving early on 9/27 to start getting their tools and equipment ready. Aaron arrived about 8am and went through the details with the crew foreman. The crew of 4 then worked from about 8am until 2pm installing about 60 ft of french drain and repairing the 4 downspout drains. Everything was done efficiently and professionally. Cleanup was excellent and anyone would have to look very closely at the yard to see where the french drain had been installed. Excess dirt from the trench was spread out in a couple of low spots as requested with the rocks raked out and removed. All in all a job very well done.
Description of Work: Installed french drain across front yard to connect with gutter drain pipe at side of house. Replaced tops of 4 damaged downspout drain pipes at corners of house. Spread excess dirt from french drain trench over two low spots in yard.

I contacted Rain Pro's via email through the Angie's List. AAron contacted me same day and we made an appointment for an estimate. He was on-time, thorough and professional. He emailed me an estimate same-day. I compared his approach with two other estimates and decided that, although he was within a few hundred dollars, I went with another reputable company that is also listed on Angie's List.
Description of Work: I invited Rain Pro's to provide an estimate for a new lawn and garden irrigation and sprinkler project, along with 2 other companies. In the end, Rain Pro's bid was close but not in line with the company that I ultimately selected. I felt that Aaron's professionalism and patience in explaining everything to me was exceptional. I will recommend to others that they consider Rain Pro's as a potential service provider for these services.

From start to finish, Rain Pro's puts the customer first. Even after the work was completed, Aaron would stop by and check to make sure sprinkler system was properly aligned and that all the plants and grass were being watered. He also took the time to ensure we knew how to operate the program/timing unit, rain detector and how to properly maintain and clean the sprinkler heads. You can't go wrong with Rain Pro's! We would use them again in a heartbeat!!!
Description of Work: Rain Pro's is one of the best companies out there. My wife and I had Aaron and his crew completely re-landscape our backyard. We are talking EVERYTHING! New grass, new bark, new trees, shrubs, flowers, 400 gallon Koi pond with water fall, 800 sq. ft of flagstone for a patio, in-ground sprinkler system, outdoor accent lighting, etc... The work was so impeccable that we feel as if our new backyard is like our very own oasis!! It is so nice to sit back there on the lawn furniture listening to the water feature. There is such a variety of plants and flowers that we have all kinds of birds coming into the backyard making it their home too! Including Blue Herons that try to grab a free meal out of the Koi pond! :-) It is so nice to deal with a company that really does put the customer first and tries their best to ensure that you are happy with the work they perform!! We also have the Rain Pro's crew come out in the Spring to get the sprinkler system ready for the summer season and again in the fall when they winterize the system.

The irrigation company that I have been using for many years was not available of short notice, so I called Rain Pros in the morning, and they had a truck in the area and were at the house a couple of hours later. Did a thorough job of locating all equipment and replacing one head. Oliver and his partner were very knowledgeable and helpful, explaining everything I wanted to know about how the system works. I would recommend them to anyone. They are definitely my new irrigation company. I hope the boss sees this, because they are valuable employees.

From start to finish, I was impressed with how professional and efficient Aaron and his team were. He gave me a detailed scope of the work to be done, on site during the estimate and in his quote. They were able to start the next morning and arrived promptly at 8:00, as they did each day, with a full team of 4 or 5 workers. Aaron introduced me to his on-site supervisor, Marcus, who would field any concerns/questions I might have. Aarom came by periodically to check on the second day and was here on the third day to wrap up, with a walk through of the job. Aaron sets high standards for himself and his workers and the job they are doing and speaks highly of his crew. The first day they dug the trenches, which also included jack-hammering the cement at the base of the rockeries. All worked at a steady pace, returned from breaks promptly, and at the end of each day reviewed with me the progress made and the next day's priorities. The second day the pipes were layed and gravel placed over them. Plants had to be moved but were replanted, bark replaced, and cement repair was made to the sidewalk. Tentatively it was expected to take 3 full days, maybe 4 days for completion - they ended up completing the job mid-day on the 3rd day. Marcus discussed issues with me as they came up, though fortunately these were only minor. They crew cleaned up as they went hauling plant debris, clay and rocks and left the site orderly each evening. They left my driveway in better condition that I expected - removing debris and moss, and offered to move railroad ties to a more practical place in my yard. They did a thorough final clean up. I would recommend Rain Pros - Aaron is a problem solver and he has a great team working for him.
Description of Work: Aaron, the general manager came out and quickly assessed the situation. Water from a back hillside was creeping under the cement of my garage and into my crawlspace, where I have standing water, creating dampness in my house. I have a drain already in my crawl space that is working, but couldn't fully handle the water that was coming in. Also, I had standing water on my driveway from back and side rockeries. Also, water from drainpipes on the side of the house was seeping into my foundation. Aaron gave me detailed solutions to the problems, which he further described in a email quote later that day. I was impressed with his professionalism and reasonable quote - after getting estimates and discussing the situation with a wide variety of other contractors. They installed french drains at the base of the rockeries and along the garage as well as a drain at the back of the house meeting up with the drainpipes and rerouting the water away from the foundation. Gravel was placed on top of the drains, which were wrapped. Aaron will make a follow-up check this winter to insure that the crawl space drain is fully functioning and the problem is resolved.

After agreeing on an initial start date, it was moved up to June 4th which was great. I did explain I would not be available until late afternoon on June 5th, which Aaron was fine with. The crew was slated to show up between 7:30-8:00 am, they were prompt. However, only 2 were there. I was asked if it was ok if they started the next day (June 5th) instead, and I was fine with it. They had one guy quit that morning and 2 others that were late. I explained once again that I would not be available on the 5th, but my daughter would be there after 11:30 if they needed the garage. June 5th, a crew arrived on time, and promptly went to work. Sometime during the day, their trencher broke down so they had to dig trenches by hand (we have tons of rock underground). At the end of the day I asked about the gardening, and was told they should get to that the next afternoon, he felt the sprinklers shouldn't take all day. June 6th, they worked on the sprinklers. June 7th, they worked on the sprinklers. Bark was delivered that afternoon. June 8th, 1 person showed up and worked by himself all morning. In the afternoon approximately 4 guys arrived. At the end of the day Aaron called and apologized for it taking so long. He stated 2 guys were no-shows. He also stated the sprinklers are set to go on Sunday if it doesn't rain. After I got off the phone with Aaron, we realized they left a weekend gift: their white trailer in front of the house along with a large pile of garden debris on our front lawn. June 11, Crew arrived to clean the flower beds. After a few hours all but 1 guy left. When he was done, he tried to show us how the sprinklers worked. He was in training and not very familiar with how the sprinkler box worked. We asked that he show us the sprinklers did work, so he turned on each zone. He realized zone 3 did not work and had to troubleshoot. Found that it wasn't wired correctly and he fixed it. Finally finished and left around 2:00-ish. I haven't seen other reviews citing staffing problems, so it could be just a fluke with this job. Aaron and his crew are very friendly and completed the required work to our satisfaction.

They did a bang up job. It was a lot of work. There was a crew of 2-4 guys here for 8 days (not all full days but I would estimate 40+ hours). My only very minor complaint was that the estimate on some of the items was a bit off but not by a lot for the size of the project. Aaron is easy to work with. I hate to be a nag and was really looking for someone to manage the project and cover all the items we discussed without me having to follow anyone around to make sure it was getting done. Aaron generally did a good job of that. When I had questions and pointed things out that hadn't been done, he was quick to take notes and get his crew on fixing whatever needed to be fixed without any complaints. As the project progressed, we asked for additional trees to be ripped out and additional trees to be brought in. Aaron was quick to provide updated estimates/invoices so we were always on the same page as to cost and there were no disagreements. Hopefully we're done with the yard for a while but if another big project comes up, I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys again.
Description of Work: Aaron and his crew just finished installing a 4-zone sprinkler system in our front and back yard, trenched in pipe so we could add more zones later, ripped up and disposed of our entire back lawn, reseeded for a new lawn, aerated/thatched our front lawn and reseeded, planted 50+ trees as a privacy hedge, transplanted some existing plants, and spent hours and hours weeding, clearing, hauling, cutting out trees and roots, etc. Apart from mowing the lawn, our yard had been ignored for years so there was a lot to do. We were looking for a simple clean look that's easy to maintain - we did not add a lot of elaborate landscaping with specialty trees/plants, etc.

Their crew arrived within the window that had been scheduled and quickly started to test and repair my lawn irrigation system. There was 3 slightly to severely damaged heads due to me having thatched and aerating my lawn the weekend prior. The crew was professional and thorough and was complete within an hour and they did not exceed their estimate. These folks also completed a back flow test on my system as required by water district #111. I used this company last spring for same tasks and will use them again in the future, everyone from the first contact phone call to the last person i spoke to was polite and friendly. GREAT JOB RAINPROS !!!

Overall, I was very happy with the experience -- from initial estimate to installation. The basic layout/design was discussed when I met Aaron (GM) to obtain an estimate. After that, I did some additional homework to try to ensure it was a sound design. That included requesting piping material from downspouts to Dry Well would be the SDR35 (smooth solid-walled pipe). And then to ensure the proposed Dry Well volume would be of sufficient capacity to handle the rain being drained into it, RainPro's assisted by digging 2 seperate test locations -- so I could test how well my yard permitted water to be drained/absorbed. Throughout the time leading up to installation, RainPro's (Aaron) was understanding of the "homework" I wanted to do and offered good tips/advice (including the test holes dug). During the installation, the entire crew was friendly and receptive to my requests. I was happy with the work performed and every person of the crew who I spoke to was friendly & helpful . At a couple locations I requested 45 degree bends in the pipe as opposed to 90 degree & they willing made it so. We've had a couple good rains since completion and the system appears to be working very well so far.
Description of Work: Rain water is now collected from 7 roof gutter downspouts around the house and piped (using 4" dia SDR35 material) to a single sediment trap in the backyard, which then goes to a Dry Well that consists of drain rock wrapped in filter fabric. Any overflow from the Dry Well will then run into a french drain (4" dia corrugated & perforated pipe) that terminates with a pop-up emitter. Part of the pipe run from gutter downspouts to sediment trap had to travel under concrete (walkway to front door & back patio). The concrete was cut so the pipes could be buried. The front walkway cut was repaired with new concrete... I have other plans for the back patio, so new concrete was not poured for it. Concrete rubble was hauled away. All grass/sod cut to allow installation was replaced. I opted to have excess soil (from digging the Dry Well) to be left on-site instead of hauled away. All work was done within 2 days.

They did a great job, the guys were all very professional, and I was very happy with the cost/value of the services. It was a big job. Parts of our lawn had very poor drainage, and the soil was very rich in clay. The french drain will fix the drainage problem once and for all, and we'll finally have a nice lawn. This was a big job, it took a lot of digging and heavy lifting, and I could not be happier with the quality of the work and the value of the services. I've had work done in the past by other companies and always felt ripped off. I'm very happy to say that Rain Pro's provided quality work on time, and the price was very fair.
Description of Work: Rain Pro's installed a french drain approximately 40 feet in length in our lawn and fed the system into an existing drainage system. They delivered and applied ~3 cubic yards of topsoil, 7 lbs of JB seed, 15 lbs of fertilizer, and about 9 cubic feet of peat moss to crown and renovate our lawn. Parts of the lawn were also thatched, aerated, top-dressed, and over-seeded. They also raked out our flower beds, delivered and applied 3 cubic yards of bark mulch, and hauled away the debris.

I had a horrible drainage problem from the first winter I lived in this house - who would grade the back yard toward the house! After years of trying to figure out what to do - how to solve this issue, I finally found Rain Pro's. From the initial problem solving to the estimate to the actual work - I have never been so impressed with a company. Aaron was able to come up with a solution, implement it and solve my ongoing drainage problem....his employees - (at least 4 or 5 were there if I remember correctly) showed so much hustle - jogging behind their wheelbarrows, not because they had somewhere else to go - this job took all day. They were all very polite and seemed to enjoy their jobs. They had to cut into my patio and walk way and did so with expertise. They had to get rid of lots of concrete chunks, install drainage, take up some landscaping, dig a 30' trench and replace the landscaping (including a rock filled pathway) - it was as if they were never there. They left my outdoor area clean and tidy. I haven't had the need to use this company again, but when and if I do - I probably won't even bother with any other estimates from other companies.
Description of Work: Problem solved a drainage problem I had ongoing for years; water draining towards my house and finding it's way into the basement. Aaron came up with a solution that worked using a french drain system, requiring cutting into concrete patio, digging a very long trench and cutting into a walkway - this systems has been working just fine ever since.

I called a company represetater to come out and give me an estimate to complete the work I needed to have done. I accepted the estimate of the charge to complete the work. The estimate was made while some of the pipes were buried under the ground. The company sent two people out to do the work. I found that the estimate had been a bit off based on the amount of time that the two people took to do the work and the distance of the pipe needed after we doug up the pipe needed. I contacted the company and voiced my disagreement with the price and time spent to do the work. The company adjusted their price and I am satisfied with the work and the price adjustment. Ezra Rice
Description of Work: I hired this company to connect a French Drain that I built to the city of Kent drainage system.

The two service people from Rain Pros were very informative and professional. Not only were they on time, they were very honest in considering the best way to repair the leak. They could have charged much more by stretching out the repair but didn't. I would definitely hire them again. Absolutely great service!
Description of Work: Rain Pros repaired a leak at the control box.
