Response from Rain Pros Inc
We regret the client was left feeling that he didn't get a fair deal and have already called him to address his dissatisfaction. Our technicians offered to schedule a subsequent visit for the following day at the time of service with additional equipment that may be successful in removing the roots our typical equipment was not able to remove. The notes on the service invoice also indicated excavation may be required because the extraction of the roots will likely cause further damage to the pipe. Our service manager was informed that the client would be out of town for a week and would reach out when he returned. Again, we will work with this client to ensure he is completely satisfied by the end of the process.

We had a great experience with Rain Pros. Everyone is knowledgeable, good communicators, punctual and they never left a mess. In all we had two visits at our home with Josh to access scope of work. He did a great job communicating the things we needed to do to improve drainage and provided a detailed estimate. We ended having Rain Pros out three times total to complete investigation of problems, put in a dry well, and add a tie in to an existing gutter in our front yard. The dry well was created to drain excess water after heavy rains, since drains in the area come to a dead end under our sinking paver patio. The entire crew did any excellent job moving in and around existing landscape and lifting heavy paving bricks to get pipes dug to connect to the large dry well on the other side of the yard. It took a day and a half to complete this, once done it looked like nothing was ever torn up. They do some awesome work with pavers I might add. And they even emailed me pictures of the entire process once done. I sure appreciated this since my kids were home for winter break and I was busy with them both days. We had some settling of dirt around the dry well a few weeks ago. I let Rain Pros know and both Aaron and Shawn came right out to investigate. The dry well was tested and dirt was filled in where needed. We don't have anymore flooding, drainage has been great and we have had some huge rains to prove that everything works as it should. I know we are looking forward to having the entire team at Rain Pros work with us on future projects in our yard.
Description of Work: We purchased our 10 year old home in September of 2016. With all the rain this fall we noticed gutters and attached drains backing up even though gutters were clean. We called Rain Pros to investigate all of our ground drains off the gutters and drains in driveway for clogs and potential damage underground.

Good, its been good. Their price was fair, but I took advantage of some special. I had some more expensive work done in December, and they had a special for yard rehab, that I bought also. I think their prices are fair because I interviewed 3 or 4 different people, so i knew what they prices looked like. They new my budget. They were really good, so I would be using them again. All A's for them. I had a bad drainage problem that seems to be solved for what they did. I thought they were really good, that's what they do is drains.

They showed up. They did what they said. I thought they also did gutters, but they don't. I don't think they went up to the roof. If you wanted to get your pipes doing out from your drain out to the street cleaned, they did an adequate job. I had 3 hours worth of work paid for for 2 people. I don't think it took them quite that long but they did do some extra things to try to make up for it. I had a problem with a broken pipe coming off the bottom of the gutter and going into the pipe that goes underground and they fixed that and they fixed the drain down by the street. There was a problem here. We had a snowstorm here the day they were supposed to be here. They and the garbage and other people like that did not show up. That was perfectly fine. I tried to call them and tell them don't come, it's snowing. They were going to call and make an appointment with me after a week or so when they got everything scheduled again. They forgot to remember to call. They just showed up. It was something like 6 or 7 days after the original scheduled date. The sell price was okay. I thought I was paying for both the gutters and downspouts and drains and I was only paying for the downspouts and the drains. That was something like 40% off what their listed price was. Would I have them do it again? No, not for the price when they are treating just those two things. I can't say they were on time because they showed up without notice. It was darn near impossible to get a phone number for them from what was on the ad and what they listed. It turns out, they were kind of like a cover company. When you look in the paper you find the name and it's a two word name but there's about 8 of the same 2 word names. Some have Inc, some have LLC, things like that. Finding their name was not easy. I finally got a copy of the special and looked them up and tried to get a hold of them. Rain Pro does about 5 different things around your house. They do the gutters, they will put in ground piping, something like french tile, things like that and they don't say specifically which one it is. So, you are looking at these 5 names wondering which one you need to talk to. They are all the same name but some of it is new construction, things like that. I would not use them for just having the drains. They put a hose with a pressure washer on it and ran that through. They may have had a snake, I didn't see them do that. There are companies come out with a 50 ft auger or something like that where they run that out through the pipe to get mud or anything like that loose and then they pressure wash it to get it clean. They came out, they ran a hose down through it and replaced an end down by the street and they fixed one pipe. I expected both gutters and the downspouts and the drain going down to the street. I bought it based on that and it turns out they don't do the gutters, just the bottom. For what they did, it was okay. They are only going to do the drains. They did add a part to the end of the hose where it drains just before the street. I live on a slight hill. The downspout used to go out and it was buried just before the sidewalk. They put something in there that, it's like a little box water goes into and when it gets enough water pressure, the top lifts up and it spews out and that was nice but I also see that as a problem because my neighbors have large pine trees. If you get pine needles backing up in that, that's not necessarily going to pop out. They realized that I had already paid for 6 hours of work and they were not going to be there for 6 hours combined between the two of them and they were was not way they were going to be able to refund anything. It was okay. They kind of implied they had an auger thing to put down. What I saw was a hose connected to a pressure washer. I cannot say they did not put an auger down first. They started at the front of my garage at the last place as a clean out hole that goes straight to the street. They went there first and cleaned that out. Then they went to the side of my house and there's another one there and they can get in that way. They did that so they did everything in the correct order but I wouldn't pay $600 to do that again. The fact that they weren't going to do the gutters - I don't know why I got that impression, but that's what I got when I read the add.
Description of Work: They flushed the drain system from where the gutters come down to the ground and there is a pipe system from there that goes out to the street. They power flushed all of that stuff and put a new cap on and fixed the pipe.

Response from Rain Pros Inc
While much of the clients comments are complimentary, we regret a phone call did not get placed to confirm the reschedule. During that period the snow had us chasing our tails. We were receiving 10 times the typical number of calls for basement flooding than usual, even relative to any other storm this year. If you read all our responses to any less than perfectly satisfied clients you will know we alway reach out to do what is necessary to make everything feel 100% right. Regarding the "cover company" statement. We have registered many similar names with the state to keep anyone from being able to use them. It's an incredibly common practice, similar to owning website domains very similar to ours. In fact, nationally there are multiple "Rain Pros" and none of us know each other. But if they come to Washington they won't be able to advertise with our name or any close approximations. Also, when we are given known problems and a specific budget our service techs have to make an educated guess as to what tools and strategies they believe will yield the best results. This client had purchased a "big deal" knowing his needs and that limited our time to 3 hours. "The hose on a pressure washer" is called a jetter and operates and 4000 psi. Additionally our Angies list profile says we don't do gutters or window waterproofing to help eliminate the confusion that our tools and skills are designed to solve problems once the water has reached the ground. To reiterate, we always reach out and do anything needed to resolve the concerns of any client less than 100% satisfied.

Josh and his team at Rain Pros did an excellent job with the sprinkler installation for our home. On time, finished in two days, did everything they said they would do and more, kept us informed on the progress, very professorial and really know what they are doing. I would recommend them to anyone looking use their services for whatever they offer.
Called someone else to start with, they came out with a camera and tried to hydrojet a perimeter drain, didn't work. They quoted me almost $6k to replace a bunch of underground pipe. I kept calling around and got Josh with Rain Pros to come look at it. They worked to try to resolve the problem without a big replacement job, found the blockage at the back of our property by digging around until they found it, replaced a little pipe, then the standing water drained, overall cost about half what the other outfit had quoted. They gave us a really good price for the work, showed up when they said they would, tried to keep the home clean when they had to come in to get down in the crawl space, three workers besides Josh were respectful, hard workers, intelligent.
Description of Work: Clear blocked perimeter drain. Found water standing in our crawl space; first time this ever happened, 16 year old home.

Short version: If you’re looking for a high-quality system, from professionals who know their trade and will treat you and your property with respect all at a fair price – I highly recommend Rain Pros. Long version: To start, we gathered multiple bids from a number of companies. Rain Pro team was in the middle of the pack for cost, but specified only high-quality parts, showed a high level of professionalism, and came highly reviewed online. They also offered a 1 or 5 year warranty (must do winterization/spring startup with them to extend to 5 years) on the system. Our project lead was Josh, and overall we were very impressed with his team the entire project. Josh and his team were very courteous and kept as clean a work-site you can expect from a crew digging trenches in a wet Washington winter. Only critique is that communication of when they needed things from us (e.g. access, information, approvals) could have been better coordinated so we could have planned better. Final project delivered exactly as expected. Lawn looked better than anticipated after all the trenching required, you can only tell where they trenched when standing directly over dug-up areas, otherwise returned to flat, tight seems that will completely disappear once the grass growth starts back up. This system will save me countless hours watering my yard & plants, and years of beautiful landscaping enjoyment. Very pleased with this project.
Description of Work: Installation of approximately 1 acre of irrigation sprinkler coverage with 80% lawn 20% beds for shrubs and trees all controlled with a smart-watering WIFI controller. We also had low-voltage wiring distributed throughout the yard while trenched were already open for future plans to add landscape lighting.

Technician was super! I only purchased my home this summer and so wasn't very knowledgeable about the sprinkler system. The technician was happy to show me and explain to me every step he took to winterize the system. We discussed what would be involved in a spring tune-up and when it would be needed. I'm looking forward to having Rain Pros back to get my system back on line this coming spring. The only minor deduction in my rating is based on the 4 hour window I was given for their arrival. Four hours is a very large window. They met it (barely) but because of the size of my system they couldn't finish the job in one visit before it became too dark to work so they had to come back a second time to complete the job.
