Great Floors

It took a while to get an estimate because they were so busy, but I was not in a rush. The installation was fast and professional. The team was friendly and they charged a modest amount to move my furniture out of the way, which helped tremendously.

They ordered the product and set up to install hardwood floors and wanted some outrageous amount. So I went with someone else for the hardwood floors that was $1,000.00 less. It wasn't a good product.

It went very well. They were quick, professional, and willing to put in the extra effort to see the job was done well.

They were fantastic! The salesman was good to work with and pointed out the pros and cons of different types of carpeting. He didn't push us toward the most expensive but discussed with us what we were looking for and through handling the samples and what we liked and didn't like, guided us toward what would work best for us. We then took samples home. They didn't bug us while we were thinking and making our decision. They answered every question we threw at them. Once we decided to use them, one gentleman came out and spent several hours doing detailed measurements and drawings of the interior of our house. He was very professional and meticulously detailed. The carpet color we wanted had to be ordered in. We were having the interior of the house painted prior to the carpet installation and Great Floors graciously and patiently (we had some delays with our painters) held our carpet and pushed back the install date (twice) until the painters were done. The two carpet layers were great. Again, very professional and friendly. They were really nice to work with and very good at their jobs. They were very careful of our house and our newly painted walls (only one small ding that took me but a moment to repaint). The man who did the seam sealing did an extra careful job; we can't see the seams at all. The other man carpeted the stairs and did a beautiful job. All the rooms they did are beautifully done! We're very, very happy and will definitely use them again.

I worked with Dave the manager because my original contact quit. Dave always returned my calls if he could not answer when I first called. He was very understanding of what I wanted and made sure that I was happy with their service. The carpet is beautiful, the installers were professional, thorough and dilligent about their work, no long lunch hour. This is the second time we have used Carpet Exchange and I would go to them first for any flooring needs I might have.

They were great and we didn't have any problems. They were very fast. We really wanted to have the carpet installed before we moved in, so they were able to work with us and get the schedule worked out.

When we got the store.The salesperson was friendly and knowledgable.We told her want we wanted and how much we wanting to spend.She gave us samples to take home.After deciding what we wanted I went back to set up the financing,that went very well.The date and was set for installation and I was very clear that we wanted an early appointment in morning.She understood and she told us that the installers would be there between 9:30 and 10:00am.When 10:30 came by I called her to see what was up.She said that the installers hadn't been by the store to pick up the carpe yet.And that she was gonig to call them.It was about 11:15 when she called back and said that they were on there way.I told her that I thought weand quot;re clear about the time of installation.They show up at 11:45am.I did ask the installers if she told about the time of insallation.They acted as if the didnand quot;t understand english.The installation I was told would take between 4-5hrs.I understand this.Halfway thur the installation one of installers left,he was sick.So it was 8pm by the time the carpet was installed.We were very unhappy about this.We still had to put the bedroom back together.We will not use this company again.

We just worked with the salesman to buy flooring. They possibly do install of carpet but we choose someone else instead. The service was good. The salesman we worked with was very knowledgeable with his product and wasn't pushy. They searched and found that they had to do a special order for what we had. We didn't take what they had in the store so we couldn't take advantage of their volume discounted price on some of the other stuff.

Great inital conversation with the sales rep by phone. And prompt appointment of someone to come out and measure my house. Unfortunately, my experience IN the retail store to get samples and all the interactions after that, were NOT so great. When my husband and I first arrived at the store to look at carpet samples, it was more than 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. The sales rep I'd spoken to on the phone was not there that day, but someone else should have offered to help. I finally went to the front desk gal to ask for help, and she was rude, unprofessional, and appeared annoyed that I was asking for help from someone else when 'my' rep wasn't there. No one was available. We finally picked out some samples (again, completely on our own) and took them up front to check out. The gal was still rude, did not smile or make eye contact once. A week later, I contacted the sales rep to give him our choice so he could prepare the bid. For JUST my upstairs, and 3 bedrooms and a hallway - with carpet ($3/sq yd) and the padding and installation....the bid was more than $6000. I have since asked around and gotten other estimates, and that bid was $2000+ more than anyone else. we will NOT be using Great Floors in Lacey, WA for our carpet installation.

The morning of the installation, the guys showed up right on time and got to work. They were very courteous and professional. They completed the installation within a few hours and cleaned up. They vacuumed my new carpet and even vaccuumed an adjoining room. We were really pleased with the entire experience, and will use this company in the future.

I selected some vinyl at Great Floors in Fed. Way location. They let me check out some samples and then I returned them with my selection. I ordered the vinyl from someone named Joe. He was supposed to call me in a couple of days to let me know when it would be available so that we could actually schedule the install. I never received a call so I called the business and they stated he was out of the office for several days. (sick??, vacation??) Some one named Liz was able to schedule my install and get the info that was needed. She was very helpful and friendly. On the appointed day the installer arrived exactly on time. He efficiently did the prep and installation and left the area very clean. He asked me if he should remove the extra vinyl (new) that was not needed for the project. I asked him to leave it and he rolled it up and put it to the side of my entry. All work was completed within about 3.5 hours. He quietly went about his work and let me know when he was finished and for me to come and inspect his work. He advised me to wait for 24 hours before reinstalling the toilet which my husband did. We were happy with their work and I would hire them again if I needed additional flooring.

I am very very pleased with the installation and service!

They also installed hardwood floors and tile for my daughter. They did a great job! They really stand by their product and installation.

Purchase agreement: This is the only part of the experience that I was somewhat dissatisfied with. Dana at Great Floors was very courteous and easy to work with. However, I had to work hard to get what I thought was a good deal. We went to other stores such as Lowes and Home Depot to get install prices from them in order to negotiate a better deal. If it wasn't for that, the original price she quoted was quite a bit higher. Even though we ended up with a better deal that what we would have gotten at one of those stores, I am still not sure we got a good deal. Hard to tell with sales people if they are just playing you so you think you got a good deal. Kitchen Tile Install: The contractor they used did an incredible job. I think his name was Viktor. He removed all the old flooring very quickly and got right to work. The installation was very professional. He laid all concrete backer board with mortar and screws and then laid the tile on top of that. We also had him use tile on the crawlspace hatch in the pantry. This was a tough job, but he did a great job and trimmed it out very well. He cleanup up everything when done including all the grout from the flooring. We did one more cleaning of it after he left, but overall, we were extremely satisfied with his work. We removed/re-installed the appliances and wood trim ourselves to save a few hundred dollars. Carpet Install: The next day they came and installed the carpeting. This included removal of the old and install of the new. They did a great job and trimmed everything out well. They cleanup up well, including all the new carpet fuzzies that usually left over after cutting and installing. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the seem in the living room was pretty visible. Not so much from the seem, but from the fact that the two pieces of carpet did not seem to have the exact same color. This is probably due to the fact that we bought lower end carpet since this was a rental property. Overall, we were very happy with this work also. I would probably use Great Floors again, but if I found a cheaper contractor or could hire these guys direct, I would probably get a better deal.

Larry Thomson, salesperson, did an excellent job of helping us select the correct carpet for our needs. The installers were prompt and professional.

We were very pleased with Great floors. I think they are a chain and sell more than just carpets. Everything turned out wonderful and we were extremely pleased. They were prompt, showed up when they said they would and there were no surprises. They did everything professionally and we felt they gave us a reasonable price on the carpets. I would say the price was somewhere in the mid-range and competitive. I could have gotten a better price at another place but I am not sure if I would have got the same quality installation and carpet. They were very responsive.

They've extremely patient with us and have been out of this world with their customer service.

When I first came to Great Floors back in 2008, I was helped by Brian. He was very responsive and came out to my home to do some measurements for a master bath remodel that I was doing. The estimate seemed reasonable. After the first round of work, which seemed pretty good, I contracted to finish the rest of the bathroom. That was a complete and total disaster. I wanted the same installer but was told he was unavailable. I was promised a very reputable installer. What I got was anything but. A young teenager showed up and did quite a bit of work completely unsupervised. He used cracked tile and the installation was very uneven. I was also very uncomfortable with him being unsupervised in my home. I expressed this to Great Floors and the contractor used by Great Floors came by briefly and again left. The teenager showed up several days in a row and left in the middle of the day. I then noticed things disappearing from my home. When I noticed that a prescription medication bottle was now empty (it had been full, with only one pill out of 30 used after surgery), I refused to allow the kid back in to my home. Someone else knocked on my door the next day claiming to be there to finish the work. I had no idea who he was so I again contacted Great Floors. There was no follow up until I threatened legal action. They finally sent over a reputable contractor who finished the work. Now, about a year later, I've found a leak in my bathroom. Turns out that the area around the shower was improperly installed and never sealed so water can seep through to the area below. I called Great Floors to discuss this. Brian is no longer there and the manager - Don - won't return my calls. I spent a lot of money at this store and their service was really lacking. Now it seems that the quality of the work was substandard. I'm worried how much it's going to cost to FIX the work that I paid them to do. I will never return to this store and I am considering my legal options at this point.

I went into the Federal Way Great Floors to look at carpet for my rec room. I immediately found what I wanted and it was on sale. There was also a special on the installation so I ordered and paid for it in full. The woman salesperson told me that she would place my order and call me within the next few weeks to give me an approximate delivery date. After 3 weeks had passed and I had not heard anything I called her. She said she had been out sick and would get back to me. After several more days had passed with no word again I called back. She then gave me an install date. The installers (contracted) showed up on time on the delivery date. They were professional, did a great job, and cleaned up after they were done. I am very happy with the Shaw carpet that I chose, and with the installation. I never heard from anyone at Great Floors again.There was never any follow up call from anyone at Great Floors to see how I liked my carpet or if the installation was good. I feel that once they had my money, they were done with me. I was very disappointed with the "service" that I received from the saleswoman at Great Floors. If I ever use Great Floors again, it will NOT be the Federal Way store.

They gave us a range based off of the pattern. We were expecting to hear from them by now. We would say try it and let us know, we have yet to have time to get back and meet with them, it may be our fault.

The experience was good. They had a large inventory and were not high pressured. They would allow you to take home samples. They were pretty good.

The overall experience was great. The salesman, Brian, was very patient, answered ALL of our questions and concerns and helped us select a good product for its intended use. The measurements were spot on, the carpet pad he suggested is wonderful and the installer he wanted to have us use was terrific. Brian kept us informed of how our order was progressing and when the company decided to have an install special, he called us and let us know we would be saving some more money. Since the carpet was going into a bedroom that was being remodeled, Brian was very understanding and accomodating of our needs to push back the install date later than we had expected. When the room was ready I notified Brian and though he had an installer available for the next day, he suggested that if we could wait an additional day for his preferred installer to do the work he would feel better. We are so happy that we waited. The installer was very professional, experienced and thorough. We will be going back to Brian for our living room and dining room carpet/pad in the very near future.

They were efficient and early. I had to debate between the steam clean and chemical clean and they took a look at the carpet and suggested that steam cleaning would be better than the chemical, especially for me as I am on oxygen. Everything went great. They came in did the work, had me look at and everything looks good.

They did a very good job on the carpeting. They have very good quality. I thought that the prices were very fair. The crew was very professional and did a very efficient job. I would use them again in the future any time.

CARPET EXCHANGE HAD GREAT PRICES AND WERE KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AT HELPING US FIND WHAT WE WANTED. WE HADN'T BOUGHT CARPET IN A WHILE SO WE HAD QUESTIONS AND THEY WERE READY AND WILLING TO ANSWER THEM.
