I purchased a home a year ago and the hardwood floors were worn and needed refinishing. In addition to refinishing the floors, I wanted to make them darker and fill in a carpet insert in the kitchen with hardwood flooring. Alex came out for a free quote and walked me through the process as well as recommended built in floor registers. We agreed upon a price, set a date, and were closely in sync about the whole process. I strongly recommend Alex and the Angie's list rating doesn't lie. I looked at a few providers and chose Alex because pricing was competitive, I knew he only accepted high quality word from himself and his assistants, and he was always available to answer questions I had. Strongly recommend and consider adding built in registers as they look great!

What started out as a simple refinishing job grew and grew. When the dishwasher was removed to replace to kitchen vinyl, we found it had been leaking and had rotted the floor underneath. The rotting had spread under the counters. They had to removed. That meant the counter tops had to come off. They were formica so they could not be reused. We ordered new granite counter tops, sink and faucets. After the first week, when the project should have been done, Alex was able to get started on replacing the damaged underlayment and installing the new kitchen floor. Finally the refinishing could be started. None of this was Alex's fault. He was very willing to change his schedule to complete the job. The project should have taken a week, but with all the additional problems we were out of the house for 3 weeks. Luckily our neighbor had an apartment for us next door. Alex even moved our furniture out and back in. Other quotes suggested we hire a moving company to take care of furniture moving. Our new floors are beautiful. The new counter tops are a wonderful addition to our house. We couldn't be happier with the work Alex did in our house. They did a fantastic job, were very cooperative, and wonderful to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend their work to anyone who needed work on hardwood floors.

Alex was a really hard worker. One day he was working on the floors for 15 hours. His original quote wasn't right so there was a $400 increase which I wasn't ready for. There are some spots that he couldn't fix and lots of mess. Stain marks on all the doors and trim. Update* Alex came back to my house and fixed some spots and cleaned up the trim work. I really appreciate him contacting me and fixing mistakes.

Alex showed up promptly at the time we agreed upon for our estimate. He came prepared and helped us figure out a cost effective way to add hardwoods to our dining room. He was very patient and we never felt rushed or like he was in a hurry to get somewhere else. From the moment we decided to go with Alex everything went smoothly. Alex was in constant contact with us via email or phone prior to our start date. On our start date he once again showed up on time and got right to work. Everything was done in the manner he said it would be and our floors look fantastic. We could not be happier.

Great service, they gave a free estimate, very through, very imformative, was very secure on letting them do the work. Had another company start the job, but cost too much and did not know what they were doing. They returned call on the same day and right on time. Would definitely use their services in the future.

Alex answers his cell and is punctual about returning calls or e-mails if needed. He was prompt with his estimate and quoted only top grade materials. He totally explained the process and what was involved and what we would need to do to get the space ready for him. He was prompt the day the job was ready to begin and he even finished a day ahead of schedule and he is truly and artist. Our floors are better than new, with the three coats of finish they are much more durable than the old finish. We would highly recommend Vision Flooring and Alex as he is great to work with and does an exceptional job.

Beautiful work. Alex has very high standards and is committed to excellent customer service. If you send an email, it is answered almost immediately. Calls are fielded in the same timely fashion. I would use them again and highly recommend their work.

Alex was a hard worker. He was the single point of contact from original estimate to install, paint and finish. Detail oriented with good tools/equipment. Worked hard to keep sanding dust down - near nil in rest of house. Fair price, quality products and excellent craftsmanship. On time every day.

I own a house built in1927, small but loaded with potential. The floors were clearly original and in bad condition, scratched, discolored and with many gaps between boards. There was an old wooden register in the living room that looked kind of cool but mainly served to collect dust and small odds and ends. Alex refinished the floors, removed the old register and filled it with oak. The ends of the boards were feathered in perfectly. The significant gaps between floorboards would be difficult to repair due to the age and looseness of some boards and Alex was upfront about this. My old floors looked dingy before and after cleaning. My new floors always look beautiful!

We are very pleased with our new hardwood floor and Vision Flooring LLC. Alex was professional, polite and he was punctual. Alex is very knowledgable. He noticed that the subfloor that a previously contractor installed would not be a good thing for us. It would have been very possible that we would have future problems if we did not remove it. Alex did not have to tell us this. I think that many would not. We really appreciated his honesty and integrity. The project went smoothly. Alex works very quickly and efficiently. His work speaks for itself. Our floor is really gorgeous. We were on a pretty tight time-line. I was impressed with Alex and Vision Flooring LLC.

The floors came out great! I couldn't have been happier. Alex came out to see the job and provide my husband and I an estimate. The house was empty and being renovated so we just gave him a key so he could work whenever was convenient. The floors were pretty bad in some areas with water damage and lots of scratches from chairs being scraped over them. When Alex was done, however, the floors were gleaming and beautiful! Everything was completed within the estimated 3-day window. Plus he gave us a very clear idea about what to expect during the process and how to take care of the floors afterward.

Alex Babko, the owner, was on the jobsite every day and performed most of the work himself. The job took eight days and was completed quickly. He brought in an assistant to help move furniture and do some nailing. He is very meticulous about everything he does and the finished work really puts his craftsmanship on display. The work included replacing some damaged flooring inn the bathroom. feathering in new flooring to match existing flooring, installing five flush mount registers, installing a Brazilian cherry border in the dining room and individually fitting each peice of flooring where it meets a river rock fireplace. Alex was very cognizant about keeping the work area clean and kept dust to an absolute monimum. We lived in the house during most of the construction but had to leave for three days while the finish cured.

Outstanding work was done by Alex. I would hire this company again and recommend them to others. Alex is honest and hard working. We had a living that was covered with carpet. When it was removed, we found that only half was hard wood. The other half was plywood. Alex installed white oak where the plywood was and refinished our old oak floors. They look spectacular! We ran into a surprise when the refrigerator was pulled out. The water line had been leaking and rot and fungus had set in right to the joist. It was a mess but Alex worked overtime to get the job done. He didn't over charge us for the expected repair. In fact he got the whole 900 square feet of floor done on time. We are very happy our floors.

Alex was always available on the phone prior to the work. He arrived on time, moved out the heavy furniture, and tore out and disposed of the carpeting. He was also kind enough to dispose of the smaller rugs we had been using in the kitchen. He installed the new planks for the floor and blended them in very carefully with the oak in the kitchen. We have a rough rock fireplace and he carefully shaped each board so it looks as though the flooring had been there from the start. The stain matches our floor perfectly. He applied the Swedish finish after we had left the house and when we returned everything was very clean. The room looks beautiful. I would definitely use Alex's services again.

Alex Babko, the owner, came out and did the estimate and actually performed the work himself. Earlier this year, he installed wood floors in my sister's home (nearly the entire house), and also sanded some floors that another friend planned to finish himself, so I already seen his work and knew it was high quality. However, I was really impressed by the fact that he got back to me right away, emailed and called when he said he would, came early to work, and in short: kept his word on every aspect of the job. Also, he really listens to what you want and follows through with it. It took several hours more than he estimated, but he stuck to his bid. My house is 15 years old and the downstairs was already all wood, and he got a great match in the prefinished wood. I plan to have him come and install some carpet this winter. It's just never fun to have the flooring installed, but Alex made it as painless as possible. He's the best.

The work started on schedule, finished on schedule, completed right on the estimate, and look terrific. The blemished areas were filled and repaired, now blend in, not the eye sore that stood out before repair. I asked for three top coats of oil finish to be applied for durability (very strong smelling). This is the third contractor I have used from Angie?s List (plumber and chimney repair) all have met expectations; Vision Flooring is no exception, exceeding expectation based on cost/results.

Alex was punctual and perfectly right-on with his estimates that I gave him via E-Mail. Was extremely polite with myself/wife/2 young boys and explained to us the entire process before beginning work. Was extremely patient with all questions both before and after the work was done. I live a ways out of his normal service area but he was willing to do the work and even looked over pictures I had taken ahead of time. He gve an estimate over E-Mail (and noted he couldn't be exact of course) and came to get the work done at the agreed date. His estimate over E-Mail was pretty much dead on so we agreed to do the work. Was exactly on time, on budget, and the floors look amazing now. We had a few questions afterwards on the care of our floors and a stair that didn't look exactly how we expected. Alex offered to come fix it right away. (However we realized it was just that we weren't used to how the floors look all polished up and we did not need him to come back). Overall simply excellent work. Great job Alex!

Didn't use for services. He was prompt and timely when he came out and in providing the estimate. I don't know if I'd use him again.

Alex came out right away and did did a quote. He explained the process and the timeframe. We choose a dark stain that was much different than our previous stain so Alex offered to do a sample before he started the work. On the morning the job started be arrived on time and did a few samples to offer us a choice. He completed the job on time with no problems. The quality of the work FAR exceeded our expectations. He left the house very clean and virtually dust free.

Alex came and looked at what needed to be done and emailed me a bid. He is very professional and personable.We talked on the phone and made some plans. First removing the carpeting from the steps.After I was done painting, then they came over to remove the carpeting from the other rooms and start working on the steps.They installed the laminate and hardwood steps. Then Alex came back to do my Swedish floor.Excellent work from Vision Flooring!

I had a relatively small installation job that took approximately 2 hours. It required cleanup on bare concrete and installation of new flooring. What stood out about Alex was his professionalism and dedication even though my job was so relatively small. He is very meticulous and answered all of my questions thoroughly without hesitation. This spoke volumes about Alex's character to put so much devotion to such a small job. I will most definitely be using him in the future for all my flooring projects big or small.

Vision Flooring was referred to me from a close friend. I called and left a message and they called me back within a few hours and we had a date and time set for an estimate. They arrived right on time and spent the time needed to give an accurate and appropriate estimate. They were incredibly helpful during the process of buying materials (my wife and I bought the materials on our own). There was about 3-4 weeks between the estimate and the installation - Vision Flooring was super helpful during this time and spent the time on the phone and email to help me make sure I was purchasing the right products. Once we had the materials purchased I set a date and time with Vision Flooring to do the work. They were going to install wood laminate in the upstairs of the house as well as the stairs and vinyl in the kitchen and foyer. Vision arrived right on time the day of the job and began work immediately. We weren't able to move some of the bigger furniture but Vision did it for us. They removed the carpet and padding and base boards and everything else they needed to do and then began laying the laminate and then the vinyl. I worked outside of the house and each day I came home there was no mess, no dust, etc. Very professional through and through. They did the job in the timing they originally quoted. The house looks absolutely amazing after the job was done and we are so happy! The work is truly professional and I will be calling them again when we need more work done!

We had a very pleasant experience with Vision Flooring, from the time of the estimate to the completion of the job. It was very easy to work with Alex, he was friendly, professional, and clean. He always arrived on time and the job started the day Alex said it would start. Alex cleaned up daily and kept his tools neatly out of our way as we stayed in the house first couple of days of the project. The repair work he did on our existing oak floor was superb. We could tell Alex is a perfectionist and takes high pride in his work. Alex was very knowledgeable about the floors he explained every step of the project. The sanding went smoothly and very clean. Alex had every tool possible to do the job right. We did not expect our floors would look this good as they were harshly beat up. After everything was complete Alex gave us cleaning instructions and went over them with us to make sure we understand. He also went over time frame when we can bring in our furniture back and how long we need to keep our area rug off the floors. We will absolutely recommend Vision Flooring to anyone who needs their floors done.
