LANDSCAPE TECHNICAL SERVICE LLC

I hired Steve (Owner of LTS) to install a French drain to remove standing water in my back yard. The drains he installed did not work-there was still standing water and no water was flowing through the piping that he installed to the curb. I asked Steve to fix it and he initially told me I had a low point that would need an additional drain (I paid for additional material and labor). Still not drainage. I then told Steve that everything he did was not working and he said, "all of the properties around here has a clay base and there's nothing I can do about your standing water." When I asked him why he gave me a quote, did the work and charged me for the work if he couldn't achieve what I hired him for he said, "I'm not a drain expert." I filed a complaint with the Oregon Landscape Contractor's Board, and they could do nothing for me except say that he installed exactly what he said he would install. We even ran a water hose through the furthest end of drain piping and we witnessed no water flowing to the curb. When I asked the contracting Board rep if this was his yard would he accept this type of work and end result?, the rep refused to answer my question. After reviewing many online articles and speaking to several friends and a rep from a local landscape company (Stutzman's Services), I learned that the perforated piping should have been covered with a silt sock or sleeve to prevent clogging the piping. Today I still have standing water in my back yard and I wasted $5000 on a drain system that doesn't work. I don't recommend Steve and his Landscape Technical Services Company to anyone. He does not stand by his work and, in my case, did not offer to refund any money or offer to get some help to fix my standing water problem.
