I had removed the chair railing from a bedroom and the wall was in need of some serious repair. Randy came in and did a great job removing the residual nails, scraping off the excess caulking, and fixing the damage where drywall had been torn off. The match job on the orange peel texture was amazing - we got it painted over the weekend and it's like there was never any chair rail to begin with. Hailey, their office manager, is super responsive and helped get the initial estimate scheduled, plus sent reminders a couple of days in advance of the scheduled work date. Overall incredibly happy with the service!

Excellent service and workmanship. Steve, who provided and estimate for the job, pointed out that some additional work related to mitigation of water damage needed to be done before drywall could be repaired. He spotted some damage that myself, the insurance inspector, and water mitigation team, had all missed. King's estimate was in the middle of the price and scope that their competitors provided. The hangers and finishers (Danny...) showed up on time, were diligent with fitting, and cleanup. Tape & finish looked great. Hailey took care of all the management and administrative support from the main office. I was completely satisfied and would hire King's again.

Most excellent contractor I've ever hired. Stephen was on time for estimate and identified all the areas I was concerned about. Very easy to talk with. I had drywall put over the popcorn ceiling to level out the bumpy ceiling surface. Really excellent quality dry wall job. All joints fit together tightly and no sags or weirdness. Everything was taped off perfectly and they accommodated a large piece of furniture that couldn't be removed. Smooth coating went well and the job overall exceeded my expectations. Eric was super friendly and professional. Office staff always returned calls and kept me updated on scheduling. They take good care of their employees and it shows! This will be my first call next time I need work!

Scheduling was a breeze! Hailey contacted me and told me they'd be out on a specific day. I was quite skeptical that they'd actually live up to their word. But boy did they!! They were clean, efficient and very quick. The first day they came and replaced the drywall which was super quick. 2 days later they came out and did taping, mudding & texturing. Later, after installing carpet, I noticed that my Carpet installer cracked through some of the drywall. Steve came out to assess the damage and had a quote out to me later that day. They then scheduled someone to come and replace the drywall & did taping, mudding & texture that same day. King's Drywall could not have been more efficient or professional. If I ever need to replace Drywall again, they will be the only company I call!!
Description of Work: I recently had a flood which damaged a fair amount of drywall in my washroom & basement. I ended up having to get half of the drywall replaced in both rooms.

We contracted King’s Drywall to remove the “popcorn” ceiling texture from the entire main floor of our 1980s home and resurface it for painting. The entire experience was excellent from start to finish: In our initial inquiry and estimate, everyone we dealt with was responsive, courteous, and communicative. And we could not be happier with the finished work: Chris did an exquisite job for us. The ceiling, now painted, looks fantastic. Chris’s impeccable workmanship even inspired many words of praise from our painting contractor, who called it the best work he had ever seen. Moreover, Chris was a pleasure to work with, always courteous, friendly, professional, and responsive via phone. He and his assistant, Jeremiah, arrived punctually every day and finished well within the schedule (creating surprisingly little mess, considering the nature of the job!). Chris’s experience and knowledge, unusual in such a young man, came through in every interaction we had, and he always took the time to answer our questions. He is a professional who clearly takes great pride in his work, holding himself to a standard of excellence, and he took care to ensure we were satisfied with the final result. Working with Hayley for scheduling and billing was great as well. When there was an error on our final bill, she immediately corrected it and explained exactly how it happened. We cannot recommend Chris and King’s Drywall highly enough!

The work quality that was completed was top-notch, far as I can tell. However, I was disappointed that (1) they charged me more for the service than the physical bill that was handed to me, and (2) the serviceman didn't address additional drywall issues that were readily apparent in and around the areas he was working. I'm not clear at all why they didn't do this work, or even ask to do this work, as it would have resulted in more time and labor for them (I would have happily paid!). When I called regarding the invoice they told me the individual billed me for 9 hours instead of 8 hours and as a result I had to pay more, and couldn't take advantage of their Angieslist coupon offering. When I explained that there was still defects left unaddressed they didn't seem to care and only asked how the quality of the work that was completed looked. Which, I said, looked good. Overall, I'm frustrated and disappointed in what I thought was going to be a great experience with a company I could trust in the future, but instead I was left with an awful taste in my month.

Hello [Member Name Removed], We are sorry for the miscommunication, we charged 8 hours for 9 hours worth of work and rather than charging an extra hour ($70) and just didn't apply the discount ($62.50) however according to the original estimate we should have just billed for 8 hours and applied the discount. We will be sending you a check for the amount of the 10% discount and would like to schedule a time to return and take care of the issues in the surrounding areas for no charge. Just give is a call and we will get it scheduled. Sincerely, Steve King

After contacting several drywall companies I was quite disappointed with average responsiveness. A couple companies simply ignored my request submitted via their website, a couple others emailed me back and just said, we're too busy. Hailey from King's Drywall emailed me back quickly offering to have someone drive out look at the scope of work and provide an estimate, she suggested a date and time and let me know that they were approximately 4 weeks out for performing the work. Throughout the process Hailey was very responsive and helpful keeping me updated on the schedule and expectations, her communication was always clear and efficient. About a week later Steve, one of the owners in this partnership[ business, came out looked over the job answered my questions and let me know he would write up an estimate and get it to me the next day. Steve was punctual, efficient, with a pleasant demeanor and respectful of my home. While normally I always get a minimum of at least two bids for any significant work, Kings drywall was the only company of the 6 that I contacted that was responsive, so I cannot speak to price competitiveness, however for the extent of the work I felt their bid was very fair and went ahead and scheduled with them to have the work done. The day before my scheduled work I received a call from Hailey reminding me of my appointment the following day and checking in on my readiness. The following morning a crew of ~6 showed up, they quickly assessed the job discussed how to approach the various issues and then got to work. They were all respectful courteous and professional. I do not recall the name of the individual who was leading the team but he was clearly skilled and experienced, quickly identifying problem areas and how they should be approached. The team made quick work of hanging the new drywall cleaned up let me know they were done and were on their way. A short time later another employee arrived to do the tape and texture. As with the first crew he was polite and professional. I had two small holes in a hallway that I had requested to have done after the original bid was done that the first team had missed. Fearing my opportunity might be gone since we were on the next stage of work I mentioned that the team had missed them and the tape/texture guy said no problem he would take care of it, which he did. The next day Steve came back out for some more texuring, he was as friendly and respectful as his first visit and clearly knows his craft. The following day Chris came out for the finishing work. Knowing that some sanding/ spraying would be involved I expected some mess but Chris did extensive prep work covering everything in plastic to keep my home as clean as possible. Chris was friendly and did a great job matching the texturing of the existing walls which really is a bit of an art. From start to finish the crew at Kings Drywall was great and the job looks fantastic. When it came time to settle the bill Hailey even applied a Craig's list discount that I was unaware of when she found out I was a member. Great service from a great company, can confidently recommend and will definitely use again.
Description of Work: I removed some interior walls and a kitchen "dropbox", leaving my ceiling in quite a mess. While a reasonably handy DIYer I do not have the finishing skills to do drywall so I called in some pros.

We were thoroughly impressed by all aspects of their work. Steve arrived as-scheduled for the initial inspection & quickly communicated the estimate to use within a day, which was below the estimates of two other contractors. He was extremely personable and also provided advice on the project at that time. Hailey, their office, worked with us to schedule the work around our busy calendars. Prior to the start of the work, we realized that this was the time to complete some additional minor drywall repairs. They willingly added the additional repairs for nominal increase in the estimate. The workers arrived on-time on the scheduled start day. Our new windows and shower unit were neatly covered with plastic and taped-off prior to applying the knockdown texture. All areas were fully cleaned-up before they left. They did an incredible job in matching the repaired areas to our existing wall texture-- we showed the repaired areas to friends and it matches so well that one can't tell where the damaged areas were! We are extremely happy with the work done by King's Drywall, will certainly use them again in the future and have already shared their fine work with friends!
Description of Work: King's Drywall installed new sheetrock around a new corner shower and texture-matched new sheetrock that we'd installed around several new windows.. They also repaired several damaged wall areas in both an outbuilding and the main house, matching the existing heavy-knockdown texture.

Eric, the gent doing the repairs was an 'artist'; very professional and quick, really know what he was doing. As is typical with this type of job expect some dust and over-spray, plastic was used extensively to protect surrounding areas. Brenden followed Eric by a few days to do the painting touch-ups; again, very professional and demonstrated years of experience.

When we first started looking at drywall repair contractors, we looked at King's and another vendor. We figured we'd start with two and, if needed, look at another two. We wanted to get the work done within a month or two of our initial inquiry; we weren't looking for the cheapest - we wanted to go with a company that was local and did quality work. The first company took almost three weeks to even give us a bid after their onsite review of the damage. The second company, King's Drywall, sent us a quote quickly and was almost $700 cheaper than the bid we received from the first company. I was hesitant, at first, as I thought higher price = higher quality, but the fact the contractor from the first company took so long to get back didn't sit well with us - we wanted to give someone some business. We also looked at the reviews on Angie's List and knew King's was the right contractor to go with after reading them. So, we ultimately decided on King's due to their professionalism, the fact it's a local business, and their timeliness - we could get into the schedule pretty quickly. Due to several events (work and personal), we waited a month to have them do the work, but we were able to set up the appointment in advance. Yesterday, John showed-up on time. He was pleasant, explained everything, and did a phenomenal job. He explained what he did - and he wasn't condescending (as some contractors can be to women); he was pleasant and, honestly, I cannot even tell there was ever any damage to our ceiling. I cannot express how happy I am with his work; I'm working from home, so I'll have to wait until the husband comes home to give his verdict, but something tells me he'll be equally impressed. Also, John left the work space meticulous. Not only would I recommend King's and John to anyone needed drywall repair service, but I'd use them again if we have any drywall needs that arise. The only thing I wish I could ask for is that King's offered other services; they're that good,
Description of Work: We had some water damage from a leaky skylight, which we replaced. The damage included peeling of the drywall at the base of the skylight. In addition, we had some cracks in the ceiling.

We have had a number of contractors and service providers do work at our house, and King's Drywall Repair has blown every other company out of the water in terms of price, professionalism, promptness and quality. First, in terms of price, before starting this project, we asked for 5 bids, and of the 3 that responded, King's was the lowest. We were glad they were the lowest, because based on how the bidding went, we could tell they knew exactly what they were talking about, showed up exactly when they said they would and even had suggestions on how to make the process go more smoothly. There were no surprises at the end when it came time to pay either. Second, in terms of professionalism, there was excellent communication throughout the process. They started the project right when they said they would. The day they were scheduled to deliver the drywall, the people they usually use to deliver were booked (I think), and they didn't want to start 1 day later, so the owner and several other people came and made the delivery themselves, in the rain. Whenever there were a few different options on how to do something, they asked. And continually told us they would do pretty much anything to make us happy- which they succeeded in doing :-) Third, in terms of promptness, they returned all of our phone calls within minutes, showed up when they said they would, and completed the project in the time they thought it would take. We had a lot of corners (since it is a basement with vent ducting running throughout, support posts, and weird shaped closets), probably more corners than they expected. Eric, the one who did all the mudding, taping and finishing said he went through an entire pack of corners and over 600 pounds of mud. At any rate, they started to run behind, and Eric came in on his weekend to stay on track. Last, in terms of quality, they did perfect. The guys who hung the drywall noticed that the framing around the ductwork was't square, so they added in shims of drywall to make it perfectly square. Also, Eric, the one who did all the mudding tapping and sanding (in the dark since we had to pull the lights out to put the drywall up) found one corner where the stud was out about .5-.75 inches too far. Rather than just have the drywall look a tad bent, Eric floated the wall out over about 6 feet, so you couldn't even notice the wall was not square. Once they were done, and the lights were back in, and we painted, we noticed one spot where we could (just barely) see a tape seam, and one spot above a door that had cracked (the crack above the door probably wasn't even their fault since we had the door replaced on the last couple days they were there by home depot, and the door installer probably wrecked it). We called Hailey at their office, and said we could fix it ourselves, but she insisted that they come back and fix both spots themselves. When Eric came back to fix these spots, he did it with a smile, and even said he was glad he came back because he had bought a special caulk to fill in a crack between a spot of existing textured ceiling and new wall. We saw this crack too, and just figured that there was no way to avoid the crack. So basically, if we ever need drywall again, we won't get any other bids, we will just go with these guys. If you are considering getting drywall installed, I would highly highly recommend them. Even if you get other bids and they aren't the lowest, I probably would pay up to 25% more just because you would get peace of mind that it would be installed perfectly, and without any cut corners. Also, the owner, the drywall hangers, the finisher, and the office person were all very friendly! Thank you King's!
Description of Work: Drywalled (with no texture) our basement. This included the walls and ceiling for a family room, kitchen, laundry room, storage room, 2 closets, game room and hallway. They also primed everything. We had hung a few pieces of drywall in a couple of these areas, and they mudded and finished them off for us.

I was looking for a drywall provided who could do a great job matching our textured walls when repairing our drywall and King Drywall did a great job. When the electricians pushed the schedule back, instead of working Thursday and Friday, they worked Friday and Sunday to get the job done. I was very grateful for their flexibility, because otherwise we would have had to wait over a month to get into their schedule. They did a great job with the repairs and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

It went very well. Terry arrived promptly. The first day he cut drywall to fit the openings in the wall, fastened it firmly in place and spackled it in. He also drove in some protruding nails in my wall (it's an old house and nails are starting to pop out) and spackled around them. That took about half a day. After it dried overnight he returned the next day to sand it down and finetune the spackling. It looked great--I painted the wall the day after, and couldn't tell where the repairs were, they blended in so well. I think he did a great job.

This went very well. They came out promptly to do an estimate and followed through with the repair in a timely fashion. They did a great job. I'm convinced that there is a fair amount of artistry involved in drywall repair. The end result looked great and pretty much invisible that a repair was ever done. I'm contacting them again now that we have completed a kitchen remodel and have a few areas of ceiling texture mismatch.

Randy (co-owner of the business) was prompt and did a great job on the repairs, including matching the texture. He had the right tools for the job and his expertise was very evident. He was professional and friendly, and cleaned the areas well. I would definitely hire him again!
Description of Work: Repaired drywall in 5 areas: coat closet (entry to crawl space) where I had the 28 year old main water shut off valve replaced with a new one plus a pressure relief valve, entry from dry wall in garage to access outdoor water valve that was replaced, patch ceilings in 3 bathrooms that had new exhaust fans installed. The company has a $250 minimum requirement, and all the work at my home was done within this minimum.
